Camp Oconto is the place in which I learned to be myself. I began as a timid,
shy young camper and through camp I have grown into a confident and
enthusiastic counsellor. The staff genuinely care for their campers and Lisa
and Bruce care for everyone. I have been to other camps, but none have the same
camper to counsellor ratio. Although some people are concerned that the
counsellors and campers do not live in the same room, it allows the campers to
problem solve on their own while having the option to ask someone. It allows
the counsellors time to recuperate so that they can be the best when they are
with their campers. The set-up is ideal for all girls at the camp. I wish Camp
Oconto could run full time so that I could have the opportunity to grow as much
as I do each summer. I wholeheartedly recommend Camp Oconto to girls who want
to have an amazing and memorable summer. |

I went to camp oconto for 9 years and finally my daughter got to go and it was a fabulous experience for her too. skills and self confidence development get priority. facility and staff are top notch. |

AMAZING!!! best camp i've ever been to. Everybody is so nice, there are so many fun activities (something for everybody), and the food is so good! i just can't get enough, so this summer will be my 7th year going! |

HORRIBLE ! I went to camp oconto, I thought it would be fun since I read the reviews here. But when I arrived, the counsellor was very rude to us. She made us braid her hair, we weren't aloud to do some activities for cause of mistakes... She made camp miserable for the whole bunk/cabin. I will never return to oconto ever again. |

OMG! I went to Oconto in July 07 and at first i didnt like the camp and i was kinda homesick...BUT THEN TWORDS the end i was like "I should enjoy the rest of my 4 days left"... and i had an awesome time . I was in chips and i was in a zebo with Charlotte , Steph and Maddy!! ??? |

I LOVE OCONTO. the first year i went i went for two weeks and i was scared because i didnt have any friends there. but i made friends RIGHT AWAY and now they are some of my besties.its gonna be my third year and second year going for a month! and im SO EXCITED.for all you people who had a bad time, ist probobly just because you had one bad experience that made your whole stay at oconto crappy for you, even though if you stayed optimistic it would have been better. |

Oconto is the best place in the world the people are awesome you make sooo many friends the staff are all super nice and helpful and the kitchen boys are jokes ya there are no boys but you are not so self concious because of that and it makes the kitchen boys look that much better |

I Love camp oconto, defianatly the best summer camp out there, for those people who think it should be coed, it defianatly should not be coed because being with all girls makes it sooo much more fun and allows you to be yourself and be crazy and thats defianantly the best part about oconto is just being able to be your crazy self, i think this is my like 7th year and defianatly not my last! I love it and the staff are absolutely amazing, they are wild and so down to earth and amazing and really do care about you, there is really nothing i dont like about oconto, except maybe the fact that you have to take swimming lessons everyday and after 1 month you can get pretty bored of the same activities especially if it is your 7nth year like me, but thats ok, I LOVE CAMP OCONTO IT IS MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

This camp can be great! There are alot of great counsellors and the food is fantastic for a camp. But alot of the people who go here are spoiled brats. Your experience is really determined by who you get stuck in a cabin/zebo with. |

My first year I was fortunate enough to have a perfect councillor and semi. Everyone at oconto is exemplary in their kindness and sense of fun. From Arts and Crafts to sundaes with lisa and setting up scavenger hunts for your coucillors on Sundays, oconto is one of the most positive experiences for a girl like me. GO IROQUOIS! |

I went to oconto as a camper for years and for the last couple of summers I've been working as a counsellor there. I love Oconto and think that it is one of the best places for girls to spend their summers. Oconto has a great atmosphere and the amazing staff and variety of activites engage the campers and ensure that they enjoy their summer at camp. |

A really fantastic camp! The staff work really hard to create the best environment for all the campers. For those of you who didn't like camp who were your counsellors? And for the people who said it would be better if it was co-ed I know there are some people that feel that way, but the majority of the people disagree. And most of the people who wish it was co-ed only wish that for a year or two then grow out of it and realize how ridiculous them thinking that is. Truly the best place on earth. Those of you who says it sucks, maybe you should think about what is wrong with yourself rather than the camp, cause you are in the extreme majority! Perhaps the camp is happy to not have someone as negative as you returning to the camp! |

I have been going to Camp Oconto for 8 years and i will never be bored of it. the staff are so fantastic and incredbly happy to be there, they give up their intire summer just to be at camp. The activities are very plentiful, and fun. you always are able to be yourself at oconto. this year is the first year i havent been because i am in australia and i sont think i have ever missed somthing so much. i miss my QC year, but lisa and bruce are letting me come back next year to be a semi. so i am very excited for my reunion with all of the cam staff and campers. this camp is the best camp i have ever heard of. i love Oconto |

I absoloutly love camp oconto!!! There are many reasons why the phone is off limits but they do make excpetions. I know that one of my friends was allowed to call her mom when she had surgery. They make camp a great place to be. The staff really wanna make ur summer amazing! This is going to be my 9th summer and i wanna go forever! I love everything about Oconto! |

Oconto is a great camp and myself and all my friends are always really upset when the summer comes to an end. I am already really excited for this upcoming summer. Lisa and Bruce do a fantastic job of being approachable and always there. The counsellors are great and lots of fun. For those of you who rated the camp poorly and said your counsellor ruined it-who was your counsellor? Because there might be one or two weak staff members but most of the counsellors are phenomenal and have been going to camp forever. |

I have been to many camps over the past several years and Oconto is my favorite. It is a great enviroment for girls of all ages to be themselves, have fun, and make new friends without the pressures of everyday life. There is a large variety of activities and opportunities. There seems to be something for everybody. The staff are all very professional and caring. And the cabins/zebos (half cabin half screen) are beautiful. Best camp ever! |

It was years ago when I went to Oconto, but I remember it vividly. It was one of the best summers I have had. I plan on sending my daughter their there when she is of age. When I was younger, I too had wished the camp was co-ed, but in retrospect I believe I learned more about myself without having the added distraction of male attention. |

AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!! comeing up on my fitch year and it is definetly the best camp i have ver been to and i have been to a lot of camps!! but last year sadly my friend/cabin mates dad died and she had to home but she was so nice.. I WILL MISS YOU!! anyway.... as i was saying.....the counsillors are really nice and MOST of the campers are nice... but now im going with 2 friends so it will be a bundle of fun!! IM SO EXCITED I COULD BARF!!!! **barfing** well not really but w/e |

Replying to the previous comment on the campers mothers death, I'm sure they would have allowed the child to go home!! A councellor this summer went home for a week after her mother died, but decided to return as her family didn't want their kid to be even more upset with missing camp. Oconto is willing to call home if need be. Althought it encourages no phone interactions, this makes the children become independent. this is a great camp for all children. I have gone there one year, and hope to go back again. |

Camp Oconto is amazing! It is a wonderful place for girls to feel comfortable with themselves which is really important in todays world. The staff are great role models for the campers. This place allows you to be yourself without being worried that you will be judged. Criticism is not tolerated. I have been at oconto for 6 summers and can't wait to be staff! This camp has a family environment. everyone feels welcome and it's a great place to spend your summer!!! |

i havent gone forever like somepeople, but i hae gone since i was 8. and ya it was for a month. i think its the best place in the world. and i think the counselors are the best. there's this one counselor who i've known since my secod year and she is still my favourite. this summer when i was really upset she sat outside with me 4 almost an hour making me feel better. i love oconto!!!!!!!! |

this was a pretty good camp but wud be better if it was coed. many people agree. also if som1 needs to (NEEDS) contact their parents let them! my close friend and i came 2 oconto 3 yrs in a row. on my 3rd yr (her 4th) she was very upset about the death of her mom and was not aloud 2 phone her dad. or even see her sister in another section of the camp because she might be sleeping! i still dont think this is right. no 1 that ive told does either. i didnt even go this yr! a concerned citizen |

Camp Oconto is a real camp where the kids can have lots of fun in the nature. I have been there for 8 years and i'm going tomorrow, i will go for many more. Camp oconto has a great atmosphere even if it is all girls you never have to wear make up or care what you look like. it is the greatest place on earth |

Camp has never been better here! It's the funnest place to be in the summer:) Horseback riding, boating liscense coarses (new), swim lessons and all-camp activities...what more could you want?? Two weeks or a month, what the heck..go the whole summer! |
