Click to report rating    12/20/11   5     4     3     5     3   I do this rating based on last year's owners not the new owners as I do not know them. This place has great staff and a wonderful facility. I hope the new people keep it somewhat similar, getting rid of the head fun guy matt was a mistake but I hear there will be lots of new programs. I hope they do well.  RID: 37538

4/20/11   2     3     2     2     1   Reading all the reviews I'd have to agree with parents - for the type of activities my kids did, I simply didn't feel it was worth it. I asked a cousin who worked there what went on and I was appalled with what they ate, especially at cooking class - sugar, sugar, sugar! How do I teach my kid to eat healthy with this?? As for staff, considering camp wages (1/3 min wage - if that), they were good and my kid camp back in one piece every day! Glad my kid is going to overnight NBB this year - more activities and builds character (from what I remember). They should have more physical activities such as a 'ropes course' so future kids don't come home and say we didn't do anything new. One month was more than enough. Do your kids a favour and send them to overnight if you want them to grow up without coddling. I should've talked to more parents instead of going by the brochure.  RID: 35702

Click to report rating    9/23/10   4     5     4     4     3   My kids have enjoyed going to this camp for two years and the facilities are nice in a beautiful location. I do think it is overpriced and there is room for improvement in staff friendliness and attentiveness as well as the types and quality of activities.  RID: 34136

Click to report rating    8/23/10   1     4     4     3     1   It was shocking to find that the counsellors and bus staff do not say hello to parents properly. The young children are treated like teenagers and to my dismay I found that my daughter came home with different coloured nail polish on a regular basis. There are great activities and facilities but the staff need to grow up and considering the price, it would be nice if they taught the children some basic manners.  RID: 33842

Click to report rating    6/15/09   5     5     5     5     5   My kids had the best summer of thier lives at Adventure Valley. The facility is fantastic and the staff are the best I've seen. My kids are 12 and 10 and have been doing the camp thing for a while and this was by far their best summer  RID: 30052

Click to report rating    1/7/09   5     5     5     5     5   My two daughters went to this camp for the first time last summer and loved it! I've never seen a group of staff more spirited (and we've been to many camps). No problem waking them up in the morning to catch the camp bus!  RID: 28471

Click to report rating    1/2/09   2     3     3     2     2   the staff wasn't that good, my daughter had a medical condiditon and explained that to the swimming conselor and they called US and told us that our daughter was uncooperitive!!! than my daughter and her friend didn't want to play some game, so they asked if they could bead and they said "NO! we are using them you arent supposed to be here!" mean staff and very overpriced, my daughter's overnight camp was as much as this camp!!!  RID: 28305

Click to report rating    5/11/08   2     2     1     1     1   Young staff, very poor programming (went to a birthday party here during the winter and it was just as bad as the summer). Facility looks nice - but the pool is shallow so you cannot get proper lessons. Lynda is scattered and didn't attend to the problems that arised. My child cried every day (which he never did at Green Acres) but I paid SOOOOOO much money, I wasn't about to throw it away. Of course, the camp would not refund! Bad business move....I have spread the word  RID: 23091

Click to report rating    1/30/08   5     5     5     5     5   My three boys went to the tennis camp in August 2007 (ages 8, 10 and 12 years). No complaints from them, which was a FIRST (except the pool is not a diving pool)! The bus staff was even terrific and super friendly. We'll be back!  RID: 19628

Click to report rating    12/2/07   3     5     1     2     2   My child went here for four weeks with their friend. One word sums it up - overpriced...facility is great but programming was weak this summer. They are in need of good themed programs like all the big camps offer - such as Green Acres, Bayview Glen, Richmond Hill Country Club, and Robin Hood. She went here because of friends...and won't return next summer. Good facility - just needs more programming.  RID: 17628

Click to report rating    8/8/07   5     5     5     5     4   Definitely on the high end side but you get EXACTLY what you pay for... Very high energy, fun staff with excellent customer service...well worth every penny. I've extended my kids twice! They really impressed in their first summer!  RID: 13751

Click to report rating    7/31/07   4     3     2     2     1   My child attended the fist period of camp. They ran out of food the first week and a half. That did improve as time went on. However, the camp is unorganized and the programming is very low level.  RID: 13470

Click to report rating    4/18/07   5     5     5     5     4   my family attended the grand opening last weekend and had the best time. i was amazed at all the renovations that have taken place since i first checked it out in december.the diner is spectacular and so child friendly.the whole place has a clean, new and fresh look all painted up in bright friendly and fun colours.the kitchen has the most amazing equipment.there is tons of outdoor space for sports and other summer fun.a bit pricey but not out of line with the other major players.and this camp comes with experienced and knowledgable directorship.they do have some programs in place to save a few bucks like a referral program and no busine.also, they have extended hours which is really helpful to us working stiffs.i have been nervous about signing my kids up for the first season but after last weekend's festivities i am so impressed that i will be signing them up right away.i came away feeling a warm and family type atmosphere and recommend that everyone give them a chance to shine.  RID: 9820

Click to report rating    12/14/06   5     5     5     5     5   I went there when it was the JCC and my kids attended preschool years there as well. I've gone for a recent tour and am extremely impressed with the plans and designs for the renovation. It already looks fabulous. The new owners are sooo friendly, warm and inviting and seem to have tons of knowledge and experience in recreation. I can't wait to see the finished product. I wish the owners the best of luck and look forward to family summer weekends by the pool and tennis courts. It is a perfect and gorgeous location for a summer day camp since it is in the city but doesn't feel like it is and I hope that my kids can work there this summer.  RID: 5964
