My son is experiencing his second summer at Winnebago; my nephew is in his 5th year. This camp has become their home away from home. The athletic instruction is outstanding, the program is rich, and the staff is attentive, supportive and fun. It is a great camp experience that I highly recommend for families who want their boys to connect with nature, to really learn to camp, and to develop athletically and socially. |

I worked as a staff member here briefly, but quit because the experience was so miserable. The schedule was nothing like what was described in the interview process, and the administration made it very difficult for me to teach the activity I was hired to lead. For the most part, campers were disobedient and constantly bickering with each other, and many of the other staff seemed just as disgruntled as I was. I understand that some campers have very positive experiences here, but it is NOT a good place to work - unless you like working 14+ hours a day for slave wages and risking your personal safety to keep kids from killing each other. |

I was camper here in the same summer as the person below and I can say that they are wrong. This camp may lack electricity but that is what some campers are looking for and its obviously just the fact that this person did not find the right camp that gave it a bad image in his eyes. I can say for sure that the reason there were mice in this person's bunk was because they had candy. Food in open bunks attracts animals, it is as simple as that. On another note, the staff is always amazing and the fact that this person got bored at this fantastic place blows my mind. There is so much to do! Go kayaking, fishing, use a camp camera and take some pictures, sail, hike up the creek, play tennis, start a volley ball tournament, play tetherball, talk to friends (the rater below probably doesnt have any.) i could go on like this for hours. So just if you are looking into this camp desregard the comments belowSigned- A six year camper soon to be a seven year and then a counselor |

My dad and my brother went to camp here and my dad was the camp Doctor. When I was little I use to spent my summers there. Even though I was not a camper, I wish I could have been. |
