This is a wonderful girls' camp. My 2 daughters have been at the camp for 6 years combined, and each year has been a great experience. All the basics (archery, canoeing, etc.) and great trips. Not to mention a lovely rustic setting. Great staff, well run. The only complaint is the food - but what kids do not complain about that? |

My daughter has attended this camp for the last 6 years and loves it. Each year they go on a progressively more challenging trip starting when they are young with an overnight canoeing trip. In their final year, there is an opportunity to go hiking and kayaking in Alaska. This year, she spent 12 days hiking around Isle Royale in Lake Superior. We love that it is a single gender camp 40 miles away from the boys camp and there is no interaction whatsoever. It gives the girls a great opportunity to be themselves and not worry about impressing the boys. I disagree with the previous poster that said that you had to "poo in the woods." There are indoor showers and toilets. There is also a great website so check it out yourselves. We have found it a great value and our daughter is always eager to return. |

Great camp, very dedicated staff & a good sense of community. Does awesome trips that get better with older age groups. Do not sign up unless you like a "rustic" environment. |

I really didn't like this camp because pooing in the woods really isn't for me. At Arbutus, all the counselors are nature lovers... to a very great extent. Bue, if you like being dirty and stepping in horse poo, then this camp is for you. I hated it and I reccommend a camp with decent plumbing. |

It's an amazing camp and you leatn so many new lessons and make so many new friends It's hard to leave because of the fun you have. I loved it.... |
