This camp claims to be a field study, but the kids spent the week indoors looking at fossils that someone else collected and in a fossil store "finding" a fossil. My daughter was very disappointed and pretty much learned nothing new. I addressed my concerns with OMSI staff, but no corrections have been made, at least in the catalogue. When my daughter found an outstanding fossil (at the fossil store), she was asked to "contribute" it to the OMSI teaching materials at Hancock. She did, because she is a kid and they were the adults in charge. I was not contacted. We have had great experiences with other OMSI camps, but this one is bad and they don't seem to have rectified the problems. We are spending our camp budget elsewhere from now on.
