This camp is honestly just meh. There are good things, but also bad things at this camp. It's pretty cheap so that explains why you have to eat under a tent and the grass is all ripped up. Most of the counselors are nice though. People there are typical long island kids who think they are rich, when they are really not. (Don't expect to find any trendy jappy's here lmao)The choice activity's sucked and all the good ones got filled by the time it was time for my bunk to pick. The camp is also super small. They only have 8 showers for all the girls in the whole camp so you would have to see younger girls walking around in towels from the birds nest/fishbowl walking back to the forest. Overall, this camp is pretty lame and if you plan on going here just expect what u paid for.

I sent my 2 boys to this camp.if your child has food allergies do not send your children here. The staff is not trained to handle food allergies. 1 day my son didn’t eat breakfast because he didn’t have safe food. My son came home with 7 ticks embedded in his skin. We now need to test for Lyme in 6 weeks. The counselors did not have the children check for ticks or spray themselves. They took them on nature walks in tall grass.my son asked to go to the nurse because he thought he saw bugs resembling ticks. The counselor didn’t send him and said it was just a bug. I don’t feel that this camp is safe!!

My child was threatened and bullied at this Camp, and when I told the Camp, they denied all of it. If you send your kid here, beware no one is coming to their aid if there is a problem, and furthermore, they'll try to cover for themselves and their staff.

i love this camp. this will be my third year. its rustic but no duh its a camp. all these people must go to million dollar camps.ahhaaha. the consulers are amazing. the food is ok but thats what makes it fun. i love trying new things like archery and canoing. camp is the one thing i loook forward to every summer. i would def tell everyone i know to go!!!

A bit disappointed overall - first year for my daughter (as a day camper); was very upset to hear some of the things the counselors said or how unattentive they were to the campers - even heard one "mean" counselor assigned to the food hall was outside smoking - little petty things bothered me - they said the kids get an afternoon snack; they don't. They said the offered sailing, they don't. Seems very disorganized though she enjoyed it. Place is very run down.

I feel like I belong at PDunes every summer! All the counselors are great, yes they may act immature but they know when to be serious and they get down to our level, think how us kids think, and they help us have more fun by acting more kiddish! Keep in mind that most of them are only in their late teens or early 20's too, so they are only young adults that know how to have fun. The staff if very caring and will definitely help in a crisis if needed. The activities are fun and facilities are the way a rustic camp should be...this is a real camp, not a hotel, so don't expect luxuries, but don't expect horrible either. :) I love PDunes..now, if only Ethan would come back!

Best. Summer. Ever! The counselors were really cool and came from all over the world. The food was good (chocolate cake had zucchini in it!) I'm definitely going back next year!

Last summer was my first at P Dunes. I had a really good time and made some friends I still talk to. Sailing was amazing and food was pretty good. I'll definitely go back.

OH MY GODDD!!! I LOVE P DUNES!!! BEST CAMP EVER!!! Seriously, people who complain don't know how to relax. Yeah we use an ipod! It works! Dance parties in the cabin! Whoo! Yeah the buildings are old. It's a camp! We fish in the pond and swim in the sound...sunsets are BEAUTIFUL! This was my 2nd year and I'm defintely going back. YEA P DUNES! Lakoda friendship circle! Challenge Zone! Yea!

this camp was eh. I mean i met a lot of great friends. but the counselors are little kids I MEAN GROW UP. i remember during archery instead DOING archery they were TALKING to each other. the people there arent snobby or anything in fact their all down to earth. But what i really had a problem with was the building and system. its SO old fashioned. plus they couldnt hire a dj b/c they couldnt afford it SO WE USED AN IPOD. good golly gosh

The place is a dump...No organization...web site has 30 pictures of new retaining wall while everything else falling down around it that they dont show..You should go see before you buy..A real shame because it could be so nice..Not enough counselors and the ones there didnt seemed to care(BOYS). As far as the activities most of the equipement was broken..(arrows with no feathers) One bow for 15 kids the rest broken...Dont know who to blame Cornell or Suffolk Cty Parks. Dont be lured by the under 600.00 price...You get what you pay for..This was not worth 200.00...

for a camp that cost $585 it is the best exprance a kid could have. really the staff is great. i remember this one counselor jimmy, he did fishing and softball. he was amazing and hot to, really cool helped me through guy trouble and punished the guy for me. the kids are great and for the kids that say the camps not fun you dont no what its like there, open up a little bit and get to know people its the greatest camp ive been to. cant wait till next summer when i can work there.

i love p dunes soo much. it's a ton of fun & my friends & i go every year. most of the counselors are really great. the dance at the end of the week is also fun. the have a bunch of activities to do, and you never get bored of p dunes. i keep in touch with some of my friends i have met there, and can't wait to go back this summer!

p-dunes the most beast camp ever couselors pretty much rocked the dance i dont know what the other kids spoke about they must not have had any friends haha but reallyy everything and everyone at camp was reall nice

I thought the counselors were awesome. They liked hanging out with me. The cabins were CABINS, but what do you expect in the woods? I did a lot of cool stuff like archery, kayaking, and art. The coolest was the last night when they did a slide show of the whole week. And the last morning when I got up early and went for one last swim in the Sound. I can't wait for next summer!

I hated the girls in my sandcastle the fat girl Ally was sooo mean and Sara waz nice but her cosuin waz mean. I wound never reccomend this camp the camp is no organized

It was alright. The consolors made fun of me, and I didn't think that that was a very mature thing to do, but otherwise, the fly-fishng program was a killer, the dance was kinda bad, and I didn't really like my cabin, but I guess I would recomend it.

Its really fun there. Except the counselors are really irresponsoble and think there cool. I am not from the country am from the city so I was really shocked by how everyone dressed. Really unfashionable. The dance was really bad. They didn't have enough money to get a DJ so they had to use a ipod. Everything else is really fun and exciting. I wish it was a two week camp.

I had august as a conselour and he rly made the camp fun... with out him, the camp would be boring because it poured every day for the week i was there

We learned how to make blueberry pancakes with the aluminum foil and pancake mix you will be carrying when your plan crashes on a desserted island. Pretty useful life skills.
