Overall horrible camp, they were genuinely homophobic (friend was outed and was practically forced to go home and was blacklisted because they deemed a lgbtq+ support group to be "uninclusive") and staff only cared about kids once they went crying home to their parents. During tours kids are forced to put on an act and do things to make the camp look better. They only cared about people once they were about to loose money. I literally had a known drug dealer as a camp counselor and the only reason she didn't get kicked out was because her parents worked there. facilities were often falling apart and were mostly for show because they were unable to be used. Staff was mean to all kids and it was overall a negative environment. I had never been to another sleepaway camp before this and assumed it was normal, now that I have seen many more, I can conclude it is not worth the money for you to send your kid to be treated horribly.

Horrible and deplorable staff because Head is mean and not honestly caring.kids are ignored unless they have been in camp several years and are rowdy out and not accepted. Not allowed on teams and bunks are disgusting not clean

THIS CAMP IS LITERALLY MY HOME. THEY TREAT YOU SO AMAZING WITH THE BEST STAFF AND COMFY BEDS AND AMAZING LAUNDRY SERVICE! THERE IS SO MUCH SPACE FOR YOU CLOTHES AND EVERYONE IS SO SWEET AND THIS IS DEFINITELY THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!! i love this camp so much i recommend.

I can't say enough about this Camp and it's owner Ross Moskowitz. I have two boys at Westmont and last year, my oldest son had a knee injury that could have prevented him from going back to camp. My son needed to go to Physical Therapy twice a week. The nearest PT facility was 20+ miles away. Ross worked with me and promised he would get my son to therapy twice a week. Ross delivered, my son got to PT twice a week and had a responsible driver take him. My son also had physical limitations over the summer and the camp worked with him, enabling him to have an awesome summer. I saw how they supported my family while we were in crisis mode and were there every step of the way! My boys love this camp and can't wait to go back every summer. It's my boy's second home and after 5 years, I have even more respect for the owners and staff because of the way they worked through and supported our situation.

Such an awesome camp. We had 2 kids of different ages go for the first summer and they loved it. From the diversity of a well balanced sports program to the chocolate making the camp has everything covered. The lake facilities represent what a real camp should be about. Most importantly, the owner Ross. He is amazing, he truly gets to know the kids personally and really cares about them. The communication lines are terrific and any questions or concerns from home are answered immediately and then followed up upon. There was no lip service given but rather good fundamental camp management. Ross is on top of everything and insured that my kids had the best summer they could imagine. If you are looking at camps give Ross a real look and you won't be disappointed.

I see that some people are writing bad things about this camp. For this camp, most of its not true. But be realistic, no camps going to be perfect and your never going to find a camp with less faults than this. This is where I found friends for life and I became not the school girl that no one really nos. I Became myself and its and amazing expiriance. The bunks and buildings are in amazing shape and alot of its new. To be honest, if your looking for a stuck-up picture perfect cabin with jappy, non-camplike feature, this isnt your camp but what makes Westmont what it is, is its Traditions and real, non-jappy, camp-like features. camp Westmont has changed my life and you would be silly not to pick this camp to go to and to just listen to rates by some people who never have expirianced any type of camp before. Listen to a person whos been to many camps, but this is what camp is about and the best Iv been to.

This place was, is, and always will be my home away from home. This past summer was my lower popeye summer and unfortunately my last. I would not trade the 5 summers ive spent up here for the world. This camp is not being ruined by Ross. Ross loves the camp deeply and wants to do what is best for the camp. There was an athletic director that was absolutely awful and he is trying to control every aspect of the camp. Lower popeyes summer showed me what camp is all about. It's not about getting away from home or going to to say that you have been to sleep away camp. Its about being with your friends, nearly your brothers, and spending time with them before you grow up and move on. Not everyone can stay at camp forever though. The bonds i have created with my brothers will last forever. NNN proclaims our love.

this camp is the best camp on the planet. i have been going for 10 summers and i couldnt imagine not going back. However, the camp is being ruined by Ross. So many traditions are being lost and it is not like how it used to be. If westmont keeps doing what they are doing, they will lose all their old campers and traditions.

THE COUNSLERS ARE ABSOLUTLY AMAZING AND THE GIRLS ARE SO NICE AND THEY HAVE BECAME MY SISTERS ANY ONE WHO WROTE BAD ABOUT THIS CAMP JUST DOES NOT LIKE SLEEP AWAY CAMP! THIS IS GOING TO BE MY 9TH YEAR AND CLEARLY ITS AMAZING IF IV BEEN GOING THERE FOR SO LONG I AM A CAMPER AND WESTMONT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. THINGS HAVE IMPROVED SO MUCH OVER THE YEARS I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. EVERYONE KNOWS CAMP FOOD SUCKS BUT HERE ITS GOTTEN SO GOOD I PROMISE. AND IF YOU WANT TO EAT HEALTHY THERES A SEPRATE MEAL THATS ALL HEALTHY BUT STILLL REALLY GOOD. THE LAKE IS BEAUTIFUL....ALL THE BUNKS ARE REDONE AND LOOK INSAINLY NICE AND THERE HUGE. EVERYONE NEEDS TO COME BACK FOR UPPER CAMP BC ITS THE MOST UNDESCRIBABLE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER BEEN THRU IN MY LIFE.

wow, i don't even know what to say. westmont is my life above and beyond, i've looked at other camps and been there too, but westmont by far is the most welcoming. i went to "chenny" the year before and it was HORRIBLE. the campers were obnoxious and the food was gross. the staff got drunk and let you do anything and they offered campers drinks!!!! omg it was ridic. westmont has order but at the same time a great summer. we do have our free time and rest hour and then during the day we do our activities and sometimes we can sit out. the counselors never force us to do anything we dont want to but my parents came up on visiting day and saw me the happiest i have ever been. westmont is too good to be true and i dont know if i just got lucky but now i have my best friends.F0UR the bracelett<33 love you girls.hah this is funny. i love westmont and chenny sucks cause my F0UR knows ive been there and ive told them allllll about it. it is grooooss. so maybe i just got unlucky there.GOWESTMON

This camp is abolutley amazing! The trips are great! The activities are so much fun! And most of all the friendships you have mad will last forever! I have been going here for 5 years and my bunkmates have become SISTERS...Camp Westmont is an amazing experience, one like no other. We also have many activities at Westmont that no other camps have such as a trapeeze and chocolate making which is a blast! If you are ever upest there are 1000 people for you to talk to and everybody is like one big family! At the end of camp every year the whole camp is crying because they wish they never had to leave. And, the day I get home i start counting down the days till we are back at camp again all together as a family! So, if you are looking for an amazing summer experience, go to Camp Westmont! And like it happened ot me, it will be come your HOME AWAY FROM HOME!

THIS CAMP IS AMAZING X100! ive been going there since i was 7 now im 14. this will be my 8th year and i cannot wait! these past summers has been the BEST eperience of my life. Honestly i wouldnt change it for anything. the traditions are amazing and its litterly one big family. this camp made me who i am today. everyone should go here. Its also really pretty. AMAZING is an understatment. I LOVE CAMP WESTMONT!!!!

my niece and nephew have gone for years. this is my daughters second summer and she is very happy. i was a camper myself. I think westmont is clean, great waterfront,the dining hall and canteen have been ac'd. and the kids r not jappy at all!

My son and daughter have attended for 6 years and they are far from jappy. There have been major improvements in the camp and Ross is amazing. Most importantly my kids are safe, happy and have the best summers. Their friends are great, down to earth and love the camp too. The return rate is great - most go back every year - if not it's for other reasons other than not liking the camp. Fred might not be the friendliest but runs a great camp - zero tolerance and has responded to all my needs as well as my kids. They would not want to be any where else for the summer - they live for 18454!!

this camp is soo run down and filthy, its like they just don't care anymore. The kids are all pretty obnoxious and jappy and I guess their parents don't mind spending over 8 grand for a gross run down camp like this. I spent one summer here and couldn't wait to leave!

it is clear to anyone who knows what westmont once was knows it has shifted to a maximum profit facility, many times at the expense of the quality of the facilities, upper staff, and food. Manegment rules with fear, and the only thing holding the camp together are those who understand the old westmont heritage, however those generations are almost 100 percent gone. the only thing that can save westmont is a ownership change resulting in a shift back to quality, not quantity....not a single additional camper should be added above the current overall number without an increase in size of the main facilities.

It really sucked. I felt like I was the only one from planet earth. they were all japs and I cant believe how bad fred was with the kids! he would yell so much I think I almost went deaf. the facilities were filled with bugs and uncomfortable. only one counselor I liked (GO TEAGAN!). and the activities sucked worse than barney. rant over.

I went to this camp for a summer and left at visiting day even my parents paid for the whole summer. Counselors were ok but the campers are stuck up. As a kid from Queens coming to a camp with mostly Long Islanders I got messed with alot.

This camps website is very misleading. The buildings are delapatated. The owners yell at the kids. A charade occurs everytime visitors take tours. This camp is not worth what they charge!Everything is done as cheaply as possible!

Worked at this camp in college. It really felt like a family. Even the staff members were taken care of and this had a trickle-down effect to the campers. We were all one, big happy family. Owners were very nice, fair people to work for.

My child will be going back to the camp for the 4th year. My youngest will be there next year. It is amazing-they love it there. They love the staff and the sports. The change in ownership last year proved to be the best year yet. Its only getting better.
