Worked as a counselor. Kids are extremely privileged and the camp runs itself to cater towards the children/parents, not the counselors. You learn as you go so people who grew up in the camp have a strong advantage. Information given is based on how well you socialize with those who grew up in the camp. Very cliquey although everyone likes to think that they are nice to everyone (they at least smile and tolerate). I am not a minority but I could see that there were racist comments from kids that were not addressed when mentioned to Mark. They are open to hire everyone but they also have strict guidelines are fire many throughout the summer. Working here was a great experience and you get to create great friends with counselors but really consider the population you are working for and whether or not you can relate to them. You have to really bring your pep or you’re wasting your, and everyone else’s time.

Attended trails end for three summers in the early 2000's. There's no doubt that Stan and Starr are the heart and soul of the camp. However, when Marc took it over, it started slowly going downhill. He doesn't connect with campers all that well and doesn't really know what he is doing in general. Left Trails End because of an incident with a bunk mate, and when Marc was told about this, he didn't handle it the right way. While my first two years at this camp were good, the last year was terrible. Half of the kids in my group left, the counselors were mean, and the whole atmosphere started to change. Marc hasn't got a clue as to what it means to actually run a summer camp.

I don't even know why I'm writing this bc i don't even go here anymore but overall the kitchen staff is very kind. Most of my bunk mates turned on me and began to hate me during my time of depression in middle school and saw my jappy home friends didn't like me so then they thought they shouldn't either. Marc knew and didn't care that I was depressed he said I shouldn't go back or he'd change my bunk. The whole thing was weird and Marc should worry about the kindness at camp. My cousin goes to Bryn Mawr and their MAIN focus is being kind. That's what trails end really needs. Peace out

i was bullied by my jappy bunk mates when they turned their back on my 7 summers later. the bunks are very nice. the counslers can be good or terrible one counselor told us about lesbian sex experiences. stan is the greatest man alive he knows everyone. marc is mean to staff and tries hard to bond w the kids. send ur kid on a teen tour

Over all I would highly recommend this camp to anyone. I am going on my fifth summer and find myself always thinking about the memories i have made here. At least one time everyday i go on the camp website and look at the pictures from the past summers. It makes me cry tears of joy and sad tears because i miss it so much. The owners Marc, Stan, Starr, and Rona listen to your every need. You can call the camp during the summer and ask any questions and get answers within minutes. Words can't describe my love for TEC. So much spirit , I bleed green and white. I am now crying writing this because i miss camp so much, I just recently saw all of my friends that i haven't seen since camp and it felt amazing. This camp is heaven on earth. There isn't anything bad that i can say about it!

Trail's End Camp is a wonderful place for a child to grow up. It is a very nurturing environment thanks to the caring staff. One of the owners, Stan, is an outstanding role model for all of the campers and even the counselors. However, some people feel that the other owners of the camp, such as Marc, are very disconnected from the campers and staff. Although that may be the case, Trail's End still offers beautiful facilities, nicer than almost any other camp's facilities in PA. The camp actually acquired a new elective program for activities this summer, which the kids seem to love. In addition, the Varsity program offered for teenagers is better than any adolescent program in all of the Pennsylvania sleep away camps. Also, the food is delicious! The chefs at the camp actually cater for weddings and other events during the school year, so they are very experienced in what they do. Overall, Trail's End Camp offers a safe, friendly, and fun environment for kids during the summer.

We had a great experience with this camp. The camp was extremely well run. The staff is excellent. Kids attend TEC for many years--in fact, most of the staff grew up at camp. They have great traditions and make things feel special for the kids. I highly recommend Trail's End. Marc H. knows every child and their family. Amazing camp!

Our child was at this camp. They were severly bullied. We picked up our child early because we knew something wasn't right. the camp leaders blamed it on our child, and thought we should send our child back again the following year. the situation was appalling! we have since found a camp that all 3 of children have found much success at. this new camp is nothing like trails end... their beliefs are about respect, kindness, and believing in each other. trails end needs to care more about the children that are there... rather than the money that they bring in.

Marc the owner is disconnected from his campers. My daughter had a problem with her bunk which we didn't learn until after the summer ended. Not only was Marc unaware but so was the head counselor. When apprised of the issue Marc acted rashly and irresponsibly. His actions destroyed my daughters desire to return to Trails End. My daughter now goes to another well known camp in PA. We now realize how a real camp should be run..with compassionate leadership. Marc has NONE of those qualities. He is more concerned making money then the welfare of his campers.

I went to Trails End for 7 years in the 90's. The facilities, activities and grounds were top notch thanks to Stan. During my last two years, Marc was starting to learn the ropes. I've heard Marc has gotten better at relating to kids over the years, but the overall attitude and atmosphere of the camp went downhill once he got there. What I am most surprised to see on the website is that Ryan Peters plays a big role in the camp now. Out of all the counselors, he was by far the biggest jerk I had met in my 7 years. He'd try to ruin the campers' summers, if they weren't on his favorites list. Hopefully Marc and Ryan have changed for the better, but if not send your kid on a teen tour. I had a much better time on my teen tours compared to the Marc years at TEC.

I worked at Trails End last year and am ecstatic about my return in 3 weeks. It is a fantastic camp with Amazing facilities and GREAT DINING. The Camp is scheduled very well, and activities are constantly changing for the children. The Councilor Staff I worked with is Fantastic... the bunk counselors are all friendly and very good with the kids. They do a great job with hiring good people. The Director Marc Honingfeld is great to the kids and runs a tight ship. However, he does not care about the councilors and felt like a second class person all year. The assistant director Ryan Peters will only care about a councilor if he is a former camper. Stan and Rona are two of the sweetest nicest people on the planet. For people concidering working, tread softly, it is not hard to lose your job. If you cant be a model person in character don't bother. Days off are KEY to working here,as though you are having a fantastic summer,it is stressful at times and a ton of work, but worth it

TRAILS END CAMP IS THE MOST AMAZING THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO AMERICA. SHUT UP MARC HONIGFELD IS AMAZING. WHO THE F*** DOESNT CHARGE A LOT FOR SLEEPAWAY CAMPS?? YEAH THATS WHAT I THOUGHT. IT IS 100% WORTH THE MONEY. Trails End is beyond Amazing it is something you can't even explain. It is not a camp it is my home it is sand experience of a lifetime. THE FOOD IS GOOD! but trails end is like a whole definition for exciting and it is a place to start new things and everyone there like you for who you are. It lets you describe yourself. i am 2nd generation and my mom loved it too she stayed as a counceler my sister are as much attached to this camp as I am. It makes you a better person not just the camp but the people in it. and it wouldn't be possible without stan, starr, marc, and rona. The staff is ahmazin' and they keep you as safe as can be 4 days<33 i can't wait for summer '08 !! i wish i lived in camp and visited my house. we live 10 months for 2 green & white!! 1.8.40.5 you are never bored at TEC. It is a welcoming warm place of love. I am Trails End!=)

Trails end is amazing. i have made lifelong friends that are always there for me whether its summer or not. Although people have their disagreements with Mark, he is the best camp director and keeps the camp from getting out of control. Stan is insane... C-U-T-E you got personality!!!! haha funny guy. the camp is not jappy at all and has very nice but NOT hotel/resort like facilities. The people there are all nice and there are not cliques. Also Trails End does coed activities almost everyday and just makes your summer the best it can be! TRAILS END IS AN EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME

Not a healthy environment to be in for 8 weeks. There were too many alliances between people who've been there for years versus the new ones. There was also a big problem with the lack of communication from heads of areas and the executives. The concepts of activities sounded great but there wasn't room to let go and feel free--too many rules and constraints for a summer camp. I understand the necessity for health and safety, but sometimes it went too far. Suggestion: get more counselor to camper ration. Lastly, biggest problem: disrespect of the children and counselors. Didn't see any warmth from Marc unless he was in front of a camera.

This is the BEST summer camp there is! I have made the best of friends and had the most fun in my life at this camp and cam't wait till summer '08 this will be my 5th year with my summer sisters at my home away from home. It truly is an experience of a life time. And I do live 10 months for 2.

Trails end camp is the best camp in the entire world. I started later than most of my bunk was immediately welcomed and included. As the years progressed the people at Trails end have grown to be my family. The owners directors and staff are amazing. I keep in touch with everyone from my "sisters" as I now call my camp friends to Marc and Stan my summer daddys. At TEC everyone is welcomed and made to feel at home. The facilities are also amazing and its the kind of place where youll never get bored. As they say TEC is not just a summercamp...its an experience of a lifetime. This summer will be my fifth summer at TEC but it will never stop there. The people Ive met and memories I've made at camp will be a part of me forever and always. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOO cant wait for summer oh eight!

I went there for Discover and i'm ready for the real summer there. I love everything about this camp its pretty and beautiful. My dad went there for a lot of uears. His still has a reacord up on the board. My cousin tried to break the record but he just missed it. He really wants to break that record. Sorry back to camp I have cousins there and a few friends. I love the Flying Squirrel its SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN. Well i'm ready for camp Trails End. I love it When Nancy Tucker performs too. I love this camp. Also people think it's not a great camp but they r soooo wrong. Why do some people think that its not a great camp. I love it. <3 I like the bowling even though i'm terrible at it. I think i'll have a great year and sorry i have so much to say but this is wat i think of Trails End as. Also evreyone there is like a big family. Its like a second home to me I think its a second home for everyone. I will learn how to do so much stuff there also ur never not doing something they never want

my son went to TEC for the first time this summer...i cannot even begin to explain how beyond happy he has been since he stepped in to the camp...he has been home for over two weeks now and he is still smiling and talking about all of his good times at camp...he absolutely LOVED every minute of it and wishes camp was all year long....i cannot thank Marc and Stan enough because they have made my son happier than i have ever seen him before....Please do not believe any negative comments on this site about Marc and Stan....they are wonderful caring people who only have the childrens' best interest in mind...The camp is beautiful and really worth every dollar!! We love TEC!!

Trails end is the best ever!!!The number1 camp of all. we seriously wait 10 monthes for 2 with this camp. it is our home. i luv it. i am so happy there i dont even miss some of my home friends since i have so many other friends there. my camp friends may leave far from me but we will always be close. Trails end is numbber 1!

If you want a traditional camp with modern facilities, go here. There are NO cell phones, laptops, psp's, gameboy', etc. ALLOWED! Fun, but better when older, beautiful camp.

If you want your kid to go to a really jappy cliquey camp where everytime you turn around they are asking you for more and more money then this is definitely the camp for you. Nice looking camp but not worth the money they charge.

Trails End is such an amazing place where you go to form undeniable friendships and grow as a person. Trails end is absolutely gorgeous, but it is really the people that make it what it is. This will be my fourth summer, and i am so proud to be apart of something so unbelievably incredible. Next year i will be a trinity, the leaders of campus, and i know that i can step up to the challange because of the amazing staff. Camp is the only place i feel complete at. I made 13 friends in my bunk, and we are so close that i call them my sisters. Camp has given me friendships that I know will last a lifetime and taught me charachter and how to be a person i can be proud of. Trails end will always be a part of me. TEC is no ordinary place. when you go there you escape. no worrying about the outside world, schoolwork, or chores. your friend are always there for you. No one is left out. We work as a community and the counsolers are like older brothers or sisters. MN

i have worked at TEC for the past few years. this truely is one of the safest places on earth and marc and stan will hold nothing back when it comes to the welfare of the campers. tec is looked to for ideas by all in the camping industry. the kids are great, the staff is amazing, and the directors and owners are definetly in camp for the right reasons!

I have been going to trails end for 5 years this will be my 6th summer.......i love the camp very much....i have made amazing friends that will last a lifetime. However I am not very fond of marc...he seems to be money hungry and does not care for the camp and the campers as stan does...Satn is an extrodanry man and i recomnd sending ur children here

As a previous multi-year staff member I feel that Trail's End is a strong camp that highly values the safety of the children there. Seems to be losing some of the "family" feel with the change in leadership from Stan to Marc, it seems to have more of a focus on being a business than a camp family now than before.

This will be my 8th summer at Trails End Camp. I have been a camper for 7 and will be a staff member in the upcoming summer. Trails End is my home away from home. My best friends have been made at camp and the owners, namely, stan starr marc rona and ryan are absolutely amazing. My fondest memories have been made at Trails End Camp, without it i would not be the same person I am today.

This camp continuously updates the facalities, every year there is something new and exciting. They are very concerned with the welfare and best interests of their campers. Not highly sports competitive, but instructional at a young age.
