12/22/15   3     3     4     2     3   Camp owners talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Couselors are not trained well. My daughter went there for two years. This past summer was not good. Food was bad, counselor stole an item of hers. Other campers were not particularly nice. No guidance from the owners or counselors. RID: 49348

Click to report rating    6/6/10   5     2     4     5     5   I went to this camp with my Boy Scout Troop (in the off season) so I can only really comment on the Facilities (so I rated everything else a 5 to be fair). The lake/waterfront was well below average. Not much of a view of it from most of camp. Not very scenic. RID: 32924

Click to report rating    4/11/07   5     5     5     5     3   I have spent the past 8 summers at Camp Echo. It is a palce that has made huge impacts on the person I have become and continue to be. A lot of this came from the trip program offered at camp. My only negtive comment toward camp is regarding monetary value. While I understand that Camp Echo contributes hugely to other programs in the YMCA, the ever increasing cost of camp tuition can cause a decrease in diversity of camp. I suppose in a "dream world" all who wanted to come would be able to find a scholarship to attend but I understand that the YMCA is doing a lot to make that possible for as many kids as they can. I love camp. RID: 9640
Click to report rating    4/9/07   5     5     5     5     5   As a camper, I went to Camp Echo for 8 years. I am convinced that those 8 years had one of the largest impacts in forming the way my life would shape out. Camp motivated me to do more with the potential that my life showed. I made some of my best friends at camp, with other campers and even counselors that I felt a particular connection and attachment with. I have no doubt in my mind that if I never stepped foot on the grounds of Camp Echo, I would be drastically different. So much reminds me of being there and being completely relaxed and happy. As a staff member, the feeling is the same. I feel that since I had such a life changing experience in my years as a camper, I owe my summers to the next generation of campers to be able to experience the same thing. The year round staff of Camp Echo is eternally devoted to making it a better place and because of that, I owe it my summer as well. Camp Echo is a place that will always be with me, no matter the time of year. RID: 9565
Click to report rating    4/9/07   5     5     5     5     5   Before I was on staff, I was a camper for six years. From the moment I stepped off the bus I felt at home and couldn't wait to return every summer. I never dealt with homesickness because the staff was so warm, friendly and enthusiastic. The activities to chose from kept me busy all the time. There was never time to be sad or homesick. Echo is the happiest place on earth. RID: 9556
Click to report rating    4/9/07   5     5     5     5     4   I was a camper for 7 years. My time at camp was always something I looked forward to all year. Echo helped me to build self confidence and leadership and every summer left me with a renewed sense of adventure! RID: 9554
Click to report rating    4/8/07   5     4     5     5     5   After going to Echo for 8 years, first as a camper then as staff i can say that Echo is a great camp with a very dedicated staff and a very safe environment. The director and committe are continually thinking of new ways to make Echo better and more fun and it is a diverse and nurturing environment. Anyone who goes here will become a better person and i can truthfully that camp has shaped me to be the person i am today. It is my true home. Share the spirit! RID: 9533
Click to report rating    4/2/07   5     4     5     5     5   After attending this camp for 11 years, I can honestly say it has shaped the person I am today. If not for Echo, I don't know who I would be. RID: 9368
Click to report rating    4/2/07   5     4     5     5     5   Camp pretty much defined my childhood. Rob Grierson and all the staff really care about it more than you could know! It's not just a camp... it really becomes like a second home. RID: 9359
