Click to report rating    10/3/21   5     5     5     5     5   Pine Forest has been a summer home for my children for five years now. On visiting day of my daughter's first summer, as I eagerly waited to hear what she thought of camp, she asked me "why would anybody ever go anywhere else?" Each year the experience gets better. Pine Forest holds great pride in preserving the familial values and traditions that make camp such a special place. This past summer in particular, despite many challenges due to Covid, PFC offered its campers the opportunity to be kids again in a safe environment. Both of my children had amazing summers and already counting down the days until they can return to their favorite place. RID: 53479

11/10/19   5     5     5     5     5   My children have just spent their first summer at Pine Forest Camp and it has changed their lives. They have come home as more confident people, with many new friends, and a love for camp. When I picked them up from the bus, they couldn't wait to tell me about everything they did. They loved sharing what they call, "inside jokes" trying to get me to be on the inside. The staff and leadership at Pine Forest Camp went out of their way to make sure my children, as well as the other 400 children, have the best summer of their lives. The counselors took an interest in my children as if they were their own. The leadership planned amazing programs. My kids loved the ropes course, art, soccer, the lake activities and the newly created STEM/Outdoor rec. I have hear many say, 10 for 2, but I didn't understand until this summer. We are now a 10 for 2 family. Thank you PFC! RID: 52962

5/5/17   5     5     5     5     5   My 3 daughters have attended Pine Forest Camp for 7 years. The friendships created and things they have gotten to try have made a positive difference in who they are. Their love of camp is not about a sports game or an afternoon in the lake - its about getting to try new things and decide who they want to be. The environment is welcoming and accepting and as parents we have always had an outstanding level communication from camp and trust the care given to our children. I imagine someday I will be a grandparent to PFC campers as my kids will never give up their love of this magical place. Going to camp is awesome and Pine Forest is the best camp around!!! RID: 50699

4/25/17   5     5     5     5     5   My sons are second generation campers at PFC. They love camp and wouldn't want to spend their summers anywhere else. They are returning for their 5th and 8th summers. Each summer they come home more independent and confident. This is a true family run camp. The owners and directors are approachable and genuine. They treat each camper as if they were their own. At PFC kids can be kids. I love the no electronic policy (and to be honest, I think the kids do too). It is a safe and nurturing environment. The facilities are top notch without losing the campy feel. Improvements and additions are made each year. 86 summers and counting. PFC gets better each year! RID: 50662

3/10/17   5     5     5     5     5   Our children will be at camp this summer for their 8th summer this year! We couldn't love Pine Forest Camp more. It truly is their home away from home and they count down the days until they are reunited with their "summer sisters and brothers!" The owners (the same family for 87 years) are special people and their warmth is a reflection of how they run their camp. Pine Forest isn't flashy, or pretentious - it has a very down to earth feeling, while still offering state of the art facilities, extraordinary activities, delicious food, and a friendly energetic international staff. Mickey and Barbara Black, the owners, are easily the kindest, most approachable couple, who take an interest in each and every camper and each family as well. My kids feel so at home at PFC and I couldn't imagine a better camp experience for them for these past seven summers! The tours are fabulous - so if you are considering Pine Forest, be sure to call and book a tour! Definitely worth seeing! RID: 50531

2/14/17   5     5     5     5     5   Pine Forest Camp has provided my children the most incredible memories that I know they will cherish forever. Yes, Pine Forest has all the "bells and whistles" which are important, but what really make them stand out is the personalized attention campers receive and the feeling that they can take risks and achieve their goals in a safe and supportive environment. Perhaps one of the reasons Pine Forest Camp is so successful is because it is owned and operated by a family who cares. I know that in the years to come my children will stay connected to their camp family. Pine Forest is a top notch camp that I would recommend to any parent! RID: 50431

1/30/17   5     5     5     5     5   My daughter just came home from school and just said to me I CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK TO CAMP! She has been counting the days ever since she arrived home from Pine Forest last summer. As a mom, I could not have asked for a more incredible first summer for my child. Wonderful staff, amazing activities, fabulous friends were what i expected and what was delivered but the values she learned and the maturity and growth in character she developed from Pine, was beyond my wildest dreams. She truly came back a better person for having been there. Camp is great no matter what, all the sports, aquatics, adventure, songs.. Pine has great food, traditions, amazing evening activities- all you could want but the feeling... that is what makes it and Pine Forest (as my kid is singing songs from camp behind me) it is a very special place indeed! Click to report rating    12/6/16   1     4     4     1     1   Don't plan on working here unless you were a camper because the staff will treat you like trash otherwise. Managerial staff does not support their staff with proper training. Campers and staff are very cliquey. Choose another camp if you want to get an outdoor experience because this camp is over paved and pruned. None of the campers truly enjoy the outdoors. Great camp facilities but for a hefty price. RID: 50283
Click to report rating    8/13/16   1     1     1     1     1   If you are looking for a camp for your son, by all means choose Pine Forest. But if you are looking for your daughter there is a way better camp right next door called Camp Timber Tops.Camp Timber Tops is run by the same people, but the directors at Timber Tops are much more attentive to every camper and the staff is so much happier and encouraging. have seen both camps, and while the PFC girls seem annoyed and cliquey all the time, Timber Tops girls are much happier and sing to you when you come to camp and are always laughing and having a good time and have so much pride in their camp and cheers. They feel safe enough to be themselves and not where makeup, whereas PFC girls are just the worst and cliquey. I know so many people who have stopped going to PFC because of the cliques, but CTT has no cliques and everyone is so nice and amazing and epic. The staff and headstaff and directors don't lie to you and respond to any emails or questions you have and are amazing. CTT IS THE BEST. RID: 49944

12/1/14   5     5     5     5     5   PINE FOREST IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST CAMP!! I have 2 kids that go to Pine Forest and they truly view this camp as their 2nd home. From the moment my kids arrive at camp until the day they leave they never stop smiling. To start with, Pine Forest has great facilities and endless activities to keep up with the varied interests of kids 24/7. But what's really differentiating about Pine Forest are the more intangible factors. The directors and staff are absolutely amazing! They sincerely care about getting to know each child and to making sure that the kids are all happy, healthy and having a truly positive camp experience. They really care and that is conveyed to both campers and parents. The traditions, the friendships (my kids keep in touch with their camp friends all yr long), and the overall vibe at this camp is just so special. I can't recommend Pine Forest enough! My kids just love it here and are counting down the days until they can go back next summer! RID: 48173

10/13/14   5     5     5     5     5   Pine Forest Camp has far exceeded my expectations! My son started two summers ago at 8 years old, and camp has become one of the most important parts of his life. He talks about PFC everyday and it has truly helped to make him a more confident and mature person. The Black family makes you part of their family. They take care of your children as if they were their own. This is not just a business to them, it is their family legacy - and that is what makes PFC different from other camps we visited. The staff knows every camper so well and the communication is outstanding. The campers are so nice as are there families. They are down to earth kids who love PFC. My daughter can't wait to start this summer, and I am so glad that we chose to be part of this amazing camp. RID: 48071

9/26/14   5     5     5     5     5   If you are looking for a co-ed camp for your children, look no further than Pine Forest. If you have a chance to see the camp, your decision will be made without hesitation. If you don't have that opportunity, I can promise you that it's the perfect home-away-from-home for your children. The staff is wonderful and it seems like a lot of them are former campers. The amenities are top notch while still maintaining the campy feel that we all remember. There is so much unparalleled tradition at this camp. PFC will always have a place in my heart. RID: 48025

1/7/13   5     5     5     5     5   Pine Forest Camp (PFC) was a true home away from home. My siblings and I cherished our summers there and cannot wait to send our own children. The three of us have wonderful memories of summers spent at camp and love reminiscing with camp friends. The camp is well run and always looking to offer the most up-to-date activities and programming. The counselors, many of them former campers, are dedicated to making sure the summer is fun, safe and an unforgettable experience. RID: 43339

12/6/12   5     5     5     5     5   Where do i even begin? This camp has been a home to me and my family for 3 generations. I can't imagine my life without the experiences I had while growing up at Pine Forest. The people, the atmosphere, the same family ownership, the amazing staff and campers, the abundance of activities, the incredible facilities and most importantly, the feeling of home, are all a huge part of what makes this camp what it is. Being a camper and staff member myself, I'd say there is no question this is a camp that offers a one of a kind experience. RID: 43170

12/6/12   5     5     5     5     5   This camp is the best! My siblings and I went as children and we still have friends from camp 25 years later. It's just a magical place so I'm excited that my son is now old enough to go. He's been there for three summers already and he looks forward to camp all year long. It's been owned by the same family for 80+ years and they've created a truly special place where your kids are safe and happy and well taken care of. The owners are very involved. They know you, they know your kids, they care. The staff is great, very attentive, and the activities keep them busy all day. Basketball, hockey, arts and crafts, ropes course, you name it, it's there. What else could you wish for? I wish I was younger so I could go back!!! RID: 43169

5/5/11   5     4     5     5     4   Pine Forest Camp (PFC) - my kids couldn't love it more. Does it have the newest/nicest facilities? No - but they are still pretty nice and seem to grow with the times. More importantly, are the staff, the owners, and the people. They are attentive, loving, genuine, and take the needs of each and every camper and parent seriously. I trust them with my children each summer, and they have never let me down. They make you feel like part of a family. RID: 35834

5/5/11   4     5     5     5     5   A true gem. There are a lot of camps these days that cater to certain campers interests. While maintaining it's reputation as a traditional overnight camp, I have seen Pine Forest adjust from when I was a camper. You don't see that with a lot of camps these days. They're either a sports camp, an adventure camp, an arts camp, the list goes on. Pine Forest has it all. Pine Forest continues to add new activities and facilities that shows they have an invested interest in both their current campers and potential news campers. I wanted to put my children in a place where they would have the opportunity to do what they love to do, but also try new activities in an environment that encourages them and has the ability to support them. Ask a former camper, the love for Pine Forest is infectious. RID: 35809

2/2/11   1     3     2     2     1   What a dump. The lake is slimy, the staff are lazy and the owners are money hungry and cheap. This camp is overpriced and poorly run. I would pass on Pine Forest. RID: 34997

7/29/09   5     5     5     5     5   My children are spending their 3rd summer at Pine Forest Camp and i cannot imagine any other place that they would rather be. This is an extremely well-run camp, owned and operated by the same wonderful and down-to-earth family for 79 years. Great kids, great counselors and staff, and great experiences that my children will remember always! This camp is filled with tradition, spirit and all of the things that make sleepaway camp such a magical place. They have found a summer home at PFC, and have gained confidence, independence, and learned so much along the way. If only I could spend my summers "up where the sky begins." Friends, friends, friends, we will always be... RID: 30579

1/21/09   5     5     5     5     5   Pine Forest is my summer home. The activities are great, counselors are cool and the food is fine. What really matters are the kids who come to this camp and the people that run the place every day. The intangible feeling of love and friendship, comraderie and caring is Pine Forest Camp's greatest asset. How do you rate that? I give it 5 plus stars. RID: 28671

They welcome new families in addition to campers from families who parents and grandparents attended camp. RID: 28470

Click to report rating    10/26/08   5     5     5     5     5   pine forest. some people think its just two words but you have no idea. this place can get you through anything. it can lead you to more then bestfriends, but people you can call family. i wait ten for two each year, and the summers pass in the blink of an eye, its hard to hold on to. you cant say you understand these bonds until you have truely lived it because once you live there, you dont wnana leave. its the one place i can be safe, i can feel loved, and never self concious. just myself and happy to be me. i love these girls because they sometimes know me a little more then i know myself. pine forest has given me something noone or nothing ever could. it gave me everything. it gave me trust, love, and it is my fate. my fate to end up next to these amazing people who i choose to call family, the people that care for you. so you can say you get this, but honestly, theres no way anyone could understand. Click to report rating    10/26/08   5     5     5     5     5   There is so much to say about this incredible place and anyone who has ever thought or thinks anything bad has never experienced it the way i have with my best friends. The best friends that i met here at Pine Forest Camp, they never leave your side, yes, physically but never mentally, we are always there for each other and we never turn our back on each other. we love each other until no end, you just have to go in with a positive attitude, because my experience at PFC is something i will never forget. its one of the bonds that run in the family, and the whole camp feels like family. some of us first generation some of us second and third but no matter what, we always consider Pine Forest Camp, home. NOTHING compares to attending PFC (Pine Forest Camp). There is no other place in the world like it. The staff is inclredible and the campers are the greatest kids you will ever meet! Everyone becomes family and takes you in under their wing. AND the activities are endless. I have never seen so many things you can do! This camp offers so many wonderful things. Click to report rating    4/23/08   5     5     5     5     5   The owners are awesome!!! I worked at a few camps before and then at Pine. Three of my children also attended. I never saw such a well run camp! The staff works day and night, rain or shine to provide the best possible experience for all the campers. I saw the owner take a personal interest in every single child there. He knew them all by name and if anyone was unhappy about anything at all he gave the issue every bit of his personal attention. This camp is second to none if you want a fun, safe, friendly, well run facility by the BEST owners and staff!! RID: 22544
