Click to report rating    9/13/21   5     5     5     5     5   My children have been attending for two years now. I have to say, this place is a little slice of heaven for them. The camp is extremely well organized and there are excellent programs for the kids. It is costly, but you get your money’s worth. The food is exceptional. It all comes boxed and the variety is excellent. They have a two week meal rotation. I also don’t have to pack snacks as my children got snacks each day. I was happy to see that it included a fruit or vegetable and it also had other goodies that they would eat like a cheese string or granola bar. I honestly feel when I read these reviews that they are either talking about another camp at another time or have an axe to grind. We know so many people that went there this year that had a great time and will be sending their child back next summer. It was sold out for a reason. Also, there is no Michael as director. It was a person named Jay RID: 53469
Click to report rating    8/30/20   5     5     5     5     5   This was my first year that I sent my children to the camp and we have nothing but amazing things to say about the outstanding camp program. There were so many great programs for the kids to enjoy. The staff were so friendly and cared a lot for the kids. My kids couldn’t wait to come back every day. They also raved about the food - meals were boxed and nutritional. Each day they got a healthy snack - a fruit, a yogurt tube or cheese string or granola bar and a juice box! I read some of the other reviews and I’m shocked - it’s not the same camp. I spoke to so many parents this year and each one talked about how their child loved the camp. The only thing I can think about is that they have a new director this year. The entire team, led by Jay Wolkoff, provided an outstanding summer for my kids that was safe and COVID free. We love RHCCDC RID: 53296
Click to report rating    1/12/20   1     1     1     1     1   I would strongly recommend that you do not send your children to this camp. First they misrepresent their program. My child did not even get in the water for the 3 weeks she was there. Not once, nor was she encouraged to. Michael (the director) shrugged when I inquired - my daughter swims very well. They just let the kids hang around. The food is a joke. My daughter came home starving and said that snacks were a pack of oreo cookies and lunches consisted of deep fried pogo sticks, no fruit and white, dry baby carrots. The cooking class had them adding store bought icing to store bought cookies and my daughter said most of the other advertised activities weren't running. My friends daughter didn't get picked up by the bus, and no apology was made. She was told by the director of transportation that it, "wasn't his fault." This camp is the highest priced with the lowest value - it's horrible. Only children that don't know any better would love it. RID: 53098
Click to report rating    6/17/19   1     1     1     1     1   Bad camp, rude counselors swearing all the time, filthy bathrooms, raw burger meat and boring activities. Worst camp my son has ever been in and it is the most expensive. They just want tons of money. RID: 52686
4/29/19   1     1     1     1     1   this camp is ass lmao. got fired for random reasons. truth be told even the older counsellors do not care about the kids, if your kids are over 12 there is no chance even a single staff will be watching them. Come just for tokes. Got food poising once a week and was left shatting my pants in the middle of the night. Don't send your kids here if you love them. RID: 52587
Click to report rating    7/4/18   1     1     1     1     1   This camp is terrible. Do not send your children there. Terrible staff, the place is dirty. The owner Michael is disgustingly rude and obnoxious. This place is not worth the money. RID: 51954
8/31/17   4     3     2     3     3   Do not send your children here! I was a councker at this camp and was surprised by how understaffed this camp was. The activitys are rushed and I and many of the staff were trying our very best to make this a great experience for the campers. Even that couldn't make up for the rushed sceduals and awful change area that the children changed in. They change in a tent called the coyote cave and I once found a group of nails lying on the floor waiting for the campers to step on them. Please avoid sending your children here! RID: 51303
7/21/16   1     1     1     1     1   Terrible camp! It's really unsafe and disgusting! I never felt at ease dropping my child off. I think the staff age range is between 9 yrs - 11 yrs. I would NEVER recommend this camp to anyone! RID: 49799

Click to report rating    12/11/10   5     5     5     5     5   My kids love this camp - will be back next year! Great staff, creative programs, well organized...parking lot is hectic. My kids loved the lunch. Someone mentioned tuck being crappy - my kids loved the tuck shop. Lighten up - it's camp! It is probably some overbearing parent who refuses their kid the opportunity to enjoy life! RID: 34575
Click to report rating    9/30/10   5     4     4     5     5   My kids loved the camp! We were there for six weeks. There is a lot of walking as the campsite is spread out in the valley. The programs were great, the schedules were uniquely tailored to meet the kids needs, the staff really cared about the kids and their needs. Whenever there was an issue, my husband or I were notified immediately. Swim program is top notch. Everyone was so helpful at the camp. RID: 34164
Click to report rating    8/21/10   5     3     4     4     5   My kids had a fabulous summer at camp this year. Contrary to the previous rating, I find that the camp communicates with parents extremely well - I guess someone can't except the reality about their kid! I do agree that they are teens looking after kids - but what camp isn't. The parking lot is a bugger but the cops that they hired in July were a big help. My kids signed up for the lunch program - kid food, but that is what kids eat! Ashley was the unit head for my daughter this year and she was so warm and created an amazing bond with her. My son had Mike and Josh - also great! My kids loved the special theme days, the activities - including martial arts, rock wall and whimz. I have many friends with kids who attended this summer and we are all thrilled with the camp. We will all be sending the kids back next summer. RID: 33812
Click to report rating    11/4/09   2     3     3     2     2   The communication with parents is lacking, to put it mildly. My daughter had problems in the group in which she was placed (simply based on age), and when I asked how she was adjusting, I was told that everything is fine (by Ashley, who was the head counselor for the Tiggers units). 2 weeks later one of the younger counselors let me know that she was in time out daily for 2 weeks. I had to contact the camp director to resolve the situation. Basically, you have kids (teens and up, but still kids) responsible for younger kids. The counselors seem to be afraid to resolve problems and think that they need to discipline kids w/o letting parents know. Beware. On the admin. side - kids get popsicles daily at the end (guess so they don't come home tired, and have a sugar rush instead), you also have to provide $2/kid/week for "tuck shop" where children are given a choice of a crappy snack and a crappier snack. Parking is awful, so you'll mostly likely have to pay for a bus. Stay away. RID: 31510

Click to report rating    5/30/09   2     1     1     1     1   I worked at this camp for two summers. The entire place has one bathroom, the staff are underpaid and therefore unhappy and bad for the kids, the price is way way too high, the food is unhealthy and comes at extra charge, the activities are the cheapest they could find, and the parents who send their kids there strike me as the kind who would rate the camp highly just because it gets the kids out of their hair and not for the happiness of the kid. RID: 29895
Click to report rating    12/10/08   5     4     5     4     4   The Sports Camp is very good. Kids have a lot to do and the unit head has been great the past couple of summers. RID: 27919
Click to report rating    8/13/08   5     4     5     5     5   Very happy with the camp this summer. My kids just love going to camp each day. I had sent them to other camps before Richmond Hill Country Club and I fought every day with them to go. The staff are very helpful and want to please. Parking lot is a bit of a pain in the morning so I drop off earlier. The kids are outdoors most of the day which is fine with me because they spend so much time indoors during the year. There is a lot of walking, which my little one was fine with! Very happy - and highly recommended! RID: 25642
Click to report rating    5/11/08   5     5     5     5     5   Awesome camp for kids! I send my son here and he cannot wait to go back each year. Loves the activities and the lunch program is really kid friendly. Staff are awesome RID: 23090
Click to report rating    4/24/08   1     1     1     1     1   Rhcc is not the place 2 be! There is very little to do, the activities are boring, the pool is nice but u only go swimming outside 1nce a day and the second time you swim inside. There is a day called Tucker day which waz okay cause u payed money and got candy. Every year there is a flu or virus going around the camp. Last year it waz chicken pocks first month and the second month was stomach flu. I definately DO NOT reccommened this camp. Everybody who's gone to this camp has gotten sick while attending it. RID: 22565
Click to report rating    12/28/07   5     5     5     5     5   I have been sending my three kids here over the past 8 years. The camp has improved every year. My kids love going to camp. This is what makes it so special! We were driving by the Club in October and my youngest asked when camp was starting again because she couldn't wait to go back. The staff are really caring and the Program Directors (Michael & Jay) have always been very attentive to my needs. I will be re-registering again. RID: 18401
Click to report rating    8/5/07   5     2     5     5     5   I thought that it was a very fun camp although sometimes the councilers could be pushy. Like they would make you do the activites if you don't want to except if you had a note. But overall it was very fun! RID: 13631
Click to report rating    6/4/07   4     5     5     5     4   i went to RHCCDC as a camper since i was 8, and this year will be working there at the age 14. I enjoyed the camper life a lot more than the staff life. I believe many staff feel the same way and this is why people think they're immature. They just want to have a fun and memorable summer too! Click to report rating    5/8/07   1     4     2     2     2   I attended this camp as a camper, became a CIT and worked there for 3 summers. Originally i was hired at age 13. As many of their staff are under 15. As well the programming was unorginal and never interested the children older than 5. Most importantly, the level of incompetence between Wendy Rom, Michael Silverman, and Jay Wolkoff.. makes me believe you would be a terrible parent if you sent your kid here! RID: 10658
