My 10 year old attended the two-week Intermediate 1 camp -- it was outstanding. She raved about it. The staff was so passionate about what they offered; these were talented musicians who excelled at working with kids. The staff chose interesting and challenging music and then provided enough support, training & encouragement so the kids could rise to the challenge.
In addition to practicing and workshopping music, they hiked, had campfires, swam, played games, tie-dyed shirts and -- above all -- made friends. My daughter grew much more than I expected; she returned with new skills and already has plans to return next year. Deep bows to EVERYONE who makes Arrowbear what it is.

Just picked my son from the Jazz/Impro session. Great music, amazing sharing of his experiences on the way back,definetely will be back and spread the word!! Unbelievable how they can run it while being so super affortable! My son says that the coaches play "Just makes you want to go back and start practicing!". And, the kids had kitchen duty, such marvel still exists!

This camp changed my life, and I'm a better person for it. At Arrowbear Ilearned to be a good person not because I was afraid not to, not because i was tricked into being so, but because at this camp I experienced what life is like when people are fair, when a person's thoughts aren't abused, and when a person's emotions aren't forgotten.

--STAFF-- The owners and staff effectively carry out their plan to cultivate an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. --FACILITIES-- They work fine, and don't have any negative effect on the overall experience. --ACTIVITIES-- Activities are well balanced between music, free-time, experiencing nature, and group-building. --PERSONAL ATTENTION-- Part of the "Atmosphere" is that not only are the staff extremely well attuned to campers' issues, but they have created an environment in which there is a supportive camper community. --MONETARY VALUE-- You cannot put a price on the experience this camp affords a child growing into themselves and seeking an identity in music and in life.

Arrowbear is an incredible place for any new or experienced musicians. The staff and fellow campers provide an environment geared towards musical and personal growth. Highly recommended!

Extremely balanced musical/social/recreational experience. Camper well-being is a major concern of the entire staff. Personal relationships between campers emphasized. Conductors and other music educators are of superior quality. Great for exceptional students that love music and deserve the best vacation ever. Friends for life are guaranteed.

Arrowbear is one of the best values in Southern California for a music camp. The price is cheaper than the competing camps and the personal and musical attention to the individual student is top notch. The music staff is focused on the individual and group progress. The staff always has fun activities plans and keeps the campers on there toes for the most part. There are also a lot of traditional events and songs that are unique to Arrowbear.

Arrowbear was the one thing I looked forward to every year. Most of my life long friendships were made at Arrowbear. I now send my own band students every summer.

Arrowbear is the most incredible camp I have ever had the fortune of attending. For 6 straight summers I progressed as a musician while meeting some of the most incredible people. I love this camp with all my heart and think everyone should have an opportunity to experience it as well.

Arrowbear is the best place in the world, it is a million times better than Disneyland! The musical knowledge gained is fantastic, the outdoorsy experience is one you will never forget, and you will make friends who last for a lifetime! :D

Arrowbear is SO much fun! I have gone to this camp for the past 3 years. As well as being able to hang out the friends I already have, I have made tons of new ones. The music is great, also! :D I would tell anyone about this camp and encourage they come!

I Love Arrowbear! I have worked and camped here for the past 15 years (many of my friends have as well) The music is really wonderful and the conductors are willing to work with those who are challenged as well as challenge those who are advanced. The food is good! The staff is sooo awesome. really, they are there for all the kids 24/7. The owners have become like my 2nd family. Go here, don't judge it upon 1st view, jodge it when you pick your kid up and trust me you will be impressed!

This camp is supposed to be for music. we only had 5 hours a day of music in the advanced session there are 24 hours in a day, and they keep us up for most of that time, so what is with the lack of rehearsals. The kids are very cliquy there, and i felt like an outsider. i'm never goin back.

I absolutely adore this place. There's none other like it that I've attended. People have told me that they've been to Interlaggen and Idewild, and didn't enjoy it half as much at either one of these. And initially, the music level is fairly the same. Definitely go there!
