I love this camp so much! This will be my 6th summer at the nock and its my favorite place on earth! My camp friends are my best friends and everyone is so nice at camp. CNAM is the best!!!!

Unlike many other camps nock a mixon is not about choice. First of all, they assume boys only like sports and it shows that in the daily schedule they created. In the daily schedule what's bad choice wise ismaking over 2-3hrs of sports. Also, even if you like sports, the schedule is not chosen by you like most other camps where you chose electives etc. If anything this is a huge negative. Another thing is they lack many activities. Their gymnastics pavilion is so small and they only let girls use it. Better yet they don't have any circus activities like most camps. Additionally, the activities that they have need to be improved, for example, their music room is mistreated and the instruments are broken. They don't even have a media center with computers or anything like that. There adventure course is so small too. The campfire site nock a mixon has isn't even used much. The cookout site (other campfire like place) is used but but not like is was before, you don't sleep overnight there

This summer will be my seventh summer at camp and every summer has been better than the last. Everyone that goes here builds extremely close relation ships with there camp friends. What is so special about Camp Nock-A-Mixon is everyone is always included. There will never be a time that someone fells left out here. Camp has given and taught me so many things that I wouldn't have been able to get anywhere else. Camp is so special for everyone that goes and everyone who goes falls in love with camp. I would recommend this camp to anyone!

I loooove this camp!! it makes me feel so at home and i never want to leave. The girls are too nice and i have made connections with people I would never have had if I did not go to camp. I really think you should send your child to camp!! IT IS WORTH IT

I think Camp Nock a Mixon is the best camp! The activities are so much fun and there are a lot of really nice people. Color War is great because there is so much camp spirit. It was my second year and it was super duper, even better then my first. I'm totally coming back.

I just went to camp nockamixon for my 1st summer. It was amazing! Everyone was so nice and i made friends that will last a lifetime. I had gone to another camp for 4 years but i hated it it was to small and the people were very mean. As a 12 year old girl i was very worried about the girls being really mean, cliqey and stuff like that but thay were not at all!!! I didnt have the most expensive clothes or anythingbut it didnt matter i still fealt very accpted!!! The summere motto was NOCK-OUT-BULLYING and we would say we are unifiers and the camp is really made of unifiers!! The activities and facilities are amazing sooooooo much better than my old camp! DONT LISTEN TO THE NASTY COMMENTS ABOUT NOCKAMIXON BECAUSE THAT PERSON MIGHT HAVE HAD A BAD TIME AT NOCKAMIXON BUT IT DOESNT MEAN YOU WILL HAVE A BAD TIME AT NOCKAMIXON. Nockamixon was the best thing that ever happened to me! I had the best experiance ever! I LOVE CAMP NOCK-A-MIXON!!!!

"We Are One" the camp song saays it all. NAM is truly a second family for all the children attending the camp. There is no bullying and only smiling faces at NAM. The owners and staff know every child by name and treat them as their "family". My daughter just finished her 2nd summer and is already talking about next summer at NAM. She has matured and become more outgoing after each summer at NAM, as well as more independent. She has felt a part of the family from day 1 at NAM. The facilities and food are the best, yet the price is very reasonable. As the camp website says there is no competition at this camp, even in terms of clothing the children wear at camp. NAM is the best.

I have been at Nock a mixon for 2 years already and i already want to stay here forever. I was reading the reviews and i saw that they said some girls are snobby. I know a lot of girls and they are not. If they are the camp allowes you to switch bunks. There are so many amazing activities. And special days. The camp makes you feel like family. Also the counslers are the best if someone is mean or your upset they will do ANYTHING to make you feel better. Also the camp is very cheap. I woulld reccomend this camp to anyone. PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS CAMP! ITS THE BEST

I have been going to camp for six year and I will keep going back forever! I have the time of my life at camp. I hope that whomever is deciding on a camp for their kids or kids are deciding a camp to go to they should abosolutely go to Nock-A-Mixon it is the best place on EARTH!!!

To sum up the previous posts, this camp is a good place to go if your son/daughter has good social skills. Considering the cost is at least $6,000, most of the kids are from well-to-do families. Granted, a majority of the kids will be of the "Jap" type, or just plain out spoiled. The facilities itself are nice, and the staff is generally well-regarded. If your child has an easy time making friends/fitting in then this camp is a good choice. If not, then it is a very real possibility that they may feel bad about themselves by some of the more snobbish girls.

Camp Nock-A-Mixon is an amazing place and I spent the 12 greatest summers of my life there. The people who said it was too expensive clearly don't know their facts because CNAM's tuition is significantly less than most camps. All you need to know about Nock-A-Mixon is that their return rate for campers is 96%, that should tell you right there what kids and parents think of this place. CNAM is a place you truly want to send your children

Unbelievable camp that is affordable without skimping on anything. The only things "missing" are a more varied waterfront with sailing, waterskiing, canoeing etc.

i love this camp. i have been told by an enormous amount of people that they have gone to MANY camps, but this was the best one. i, as well couldn't agree more. and as many camp songs say 'Ten months for two.....Why can't we stay here for the year?'-it really is true. i love this camp more than anything in my life. the friends i've made here i know will last forever. the facilties are clean. the owners treat us like we are actually their kids. Aunt Bernice (one of the owners) and Lisa (one of the assistant directors) come into the girls bunks every night to say good-night. this camp is truly amazing-DON'T LET ANYONE ELSE TELL YOU DIFFERENT~SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!!

i went to theis camp for three years, and i can honestly say that they were the worst summers of my life. I was told by my councelors that i didn't fit in. The girls made me feel poor because they had all brought Juicy sweatsuits and hardtale pants. This was when i was baout 11, and i hadn't learned the fashion stuff yet. The staff did nothing to help me except to exclude me more by having "bunk talks". they also isolated anyone who wasn't amazing at sports by putting them on the D team. I found that all of the girls that were on the A team thought it was funny to pretend to cheer us on. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TO BE SCARRED FOR LIFE!

okay honestly this is the best camp in the entire world. this will be my 6th year at NAM and i would not trade my experiences there for any amount of money in the world. CNAM is just such a special place where everyone feels loved, accepted, and just a general feeling of warmth. I don't know what anyone is talking about when they say that they hated the camp and that the girls are mean because the girls are especially spirited and absolutely wonderful. the camp and the bunks are really clean, the food is great, the facilities are awesome, the people are amazing and the owners are spectacular. They know everyone by name and they are so involved with everything. They work hard to keep the camp as amazing as it is. The bonds made at camp are so indescribable and on the last day I don't think there's a dry eye in camp. I love CNAM more than anything else in the whole world because the best friends I made there are closer to me than anything else. TRUST ME go to CNAM!!!!

This is the first time at sleepaway camp for my kids and they are having an amazing summer. According to their letters, the food is delicious and the activities are great. I see my kids' pictures on the website everyday and they look like they are having the time of their lives. We went to Visiting Day last weekend and the counselors and staff were all very nice. The owners, Speedy and Bernice, have created a non-jappy camp where everyone feels like part of a big family. As a former camper at two very expensive camps, I was skeptical when I saw that Nock-a-Mixon's rates were lower than a lot of other camps. Well, if I could give a higher rating for monetary value I would give this camp a 10. Nock-a-Mixon is a beautiful camp and it is obvious that the owners put a lot of money into keeping it that way. I researched camps extensively to choose the best for my kids and I know now that I found it. I hope that my family will be part of the Nock-a-Mixon family for many years to come.

As a former camper(many,many years ago), I am forced to say that Camp Nock A Mixon wasn't a very positive experience for me....The other posts, the ones that indicated that if "you aren't of a certain mold" then the other campersw(mainly the clicky JAP girls) can be quite mean and vicious.Verbally and physically. I had the opportunity to send MY son(who's 10) to a sleep away camp,and did NOT choose this camp. Mind you, I went to this camp in the late 70s early 80's,and went fo 2 years(not MY idea,but my parents idea at the time)....It was, quite literally, the WORST sleep away camp experience that I had EVER had in my entire sleep away camp "career"...Save your money.....DON'T send your kids to this camp!!!

I attended camp NAM from 1990-1996. The facilities might have changed from my days, but Bernice and Speedy have not. As a 27 yr old, I now can look back at those summers as the best and most emotionally fulfilling of my life. In fact, about 35 "kids" from my age group are getting together (informally) for a reunion in Philadelphia in two weeks. This is the third year running, so I can say, from personal experince, that I have made friends at NAM that will last a lifetime. Some of the reviews I read on this page fualt the camp itself for the behavior of an individual camper, or a small group of (usually) girls, and I think that is unfair. No one cares more about their campers or their camp than Bernice and Speedy. NAM is their passion, and it shows.

The problem with Camp Nock-a-Mixon is the same problem with a lot of camps. The more expensive the camp, the better the facilities, etc...the more it attracts families of a certain nature. A lot of kids have had privileged upbringing and are often of an "entitled" nature. For girls especially you find classic, right out of a movie, covert aggression and "mean girls". The counselors are often young, former campers, and are as ill-equipped as some of the senior staff members, specifically, Bernice, one of the camp's owners. Without campers, CNAM has phenomenal facilities, great programs, and a lot of well meaning tradition, however, for any child not cut from a rather stereotypical "Jewish-American-Princess" cloth, the CNAM experience may not be the best thing.

no words can explain how much the nock means to me and everyone there. the good-byes are tearful. we laugh when we think of all the happy good times spent there. everyone back here just talks about how amazing their camp is and how much they miss it and how excited they are and countdown till it starts. no one talks about home like that when we're at camp! it shows how camp is our lives and we just go to school to fill our time during the year loli love the nock and that won't EVER change

My kids have been at NAM for the past 10 years. They look forward to going back the moment that get home each summer. The friendships that have made at camp are stronger then any I have seen. While the owners are wonderful and caring of the campers they need to be a little more considerate of the staffs feelings. When campers become staff members it says alot about a camp. The owners should recognize this and make sure to treat these very special people all the same. I highly recommend this camp. You will diffenitely never have to worry about your children. They will be safe and have a great summer.

The fact that all of my bridesmaids were in my bunk barely touches how I feel about camp. I started as a shy, quiet 8 year-old and left as a 20 year-old ready to take on the world. Those summers I spent at camp continue to remain my favorite. I've been all around the world and yet there's no where I'd rather be than Kintnersville.

going to be my 8th summer at camp and as a boy i cant talk about girls camp but i can say that in boys camp there are rarely any outcasts and if there are it is because the person is socially awkward more than the kids excluding them. if a camper is struggling the staff gives them special attention.. for example i remember when i was 9 years old we had a first year camper who was struggling with being away from home. we had counslers and head staff in the bunk comforting this kid helping him realize how great it was instead of just sening him packing.. he returned to camp for the next 5 years in a row and loved each one BEST PLACE ON EARTH the only place where i truely feel home and i know that with my bunk and age group i was never judged and they are accepting and will always have your back... its a bond formed that is unbreakable after 8 years together

This is my 4 year going to CNAM! I Love it.The conslers somtimes pick favorites but always have your back. The activites are great and the food isn't that bad.This year I am goign tobe an olsest junior canp starts in 6 days and I am more than excites to go back and see all of my friends. I call them family because you are there for 7 weeks and you are with them for seven weeks. Its like having brothers and sisters. Speedy and Burnice are fantabulous. I love them so much. I encouraged 3 people to cheek out the camp. So far 1 is already going and the others are probably going next year. Even though the campis a little expensive it is worth it. My mom and dad took a chance with me and you or your parents should take a chanse too. Go to Camp Nock a Mixon and youwill have the time of your life! From a camper That is going to be a Oldest Junior girl in 6 days. :D

I went here as a camper quite a few years ago and although I did like the camp, I found the other campers to be quite snobbish and mean in general. Speedy is awesome, he really does know everyone by name. If you go here or send your child here, just keep in mind that unless they fit a certain mold, they will probably not be well liked or accepted. I also remember all to many instances of counselor favoritism that made me feel really awful as a camper. Hopefully that has changed since I was there.

I write this as a former camper/waiter/Counselor. I went to camp from 1994 through 2002. 9 summers of my life went to Nock-a-Mixon and I would not give them back for anything. I was only 9 when I started camp and everyone gets alittle homesick, but the owner makes it his personal responsibility to attend to your child. He knows every child's name and I am not joking. 600 kids, he knows everyone's name and where they live. Nock-a-Mixon is a special place, not to sound cliche. Sports is very big at this camp and kids always lose weight there, although the food is not bad at all considering "manny" the chef cooks for 700 daily, 3x a day. I remember my father saying camp was expensive and I am sure it is. I believe camp costs with everything around 7000-8000. But I tell you I will take out a loan if need be just so i could send my children to a place that taught me alot about life. A place where you dont want to leave. A place that I called and still call my second home.

My sons have been going to NAM for 7 years, they started when they were 9 years old. It is a great value for the money. My only wish is that they had a bigger lake, and included water skiing, I remember that as a big part of my camping exeperience. Also, horseback riding is off campus. But year after year my kids want to go back, and they are happy, so I have no complaints.
