8/2/15   5     4     5     5     5   I loved Sky Ranch. The counselors were nice and the cabin was pretty big. Some of the activities were paintball, zip lines, the pool, the lake, and the human maze. I didn't really like pow wow because it was boring and didn't make any sense. The cabin was really nice they had 4 showers, 3 stalls, and 3 sinks my bed was pretty comfy and we wake up at 7am. It was really fun and this is my first year at Sky Ranch and sleep away camp and I suggest you come here. RID: 48988

Click to report rating    6/29/13   5     5     5     5     5   My son just came back from his second year at Sky Ranch. This camp is amazing! It is filled with great activities in a God centered environment. The counselors are fun, cool and patient role models. He will be going back again next year. RID: 44931

5/18/13   2     2     1     2     1   I went to a one week session many years ago, and I absolutely hated it. The whole camp was dirty, and not in a fun kind of way. I was not reminded to put on sunscreen, and I got fried. I was homesick, and I wanted to leave the entire time. My homesickness was made worse by the large amount of free time campers have--they did not keep me busy enough. The next summer I went to a different camp and had a much better experience. RID: 44509

Click to report rating    6/27/12   5     5     5     5     5   Sky Ranch is amazing! My kids have been going there for 10 years now! The counselors are great role models for Christ and my kids have grown in their faith over the years. They keep them busy doing fun activities!! If you are a helicopter parent, please do not send your child to any camp-you will find something to gripe about. This is an energetic camp in a beautiful setting. Sky Ranch camp is a place where they come home exhausted with filthy clothes and maybe dirty hair, but great memories and a love for God!!! What more could you ask for? It is worth EVERY PENNY!!! Click to report rating    6/25/12   5     5     5     5     5   My 11 year old daughter attending Sky Ranch last week. She loved the camp and staff. The emphasis on learning about the Bible and the core values of Christianity made a positive impact on her. She made friends and had alot of fun. We paid extra for the horse riding portion but sounds like they did not have a enough time allocated for it. RID: 41425
Click to report rating    6/23/12   5     5     5     5     5   I've gone to Sky Ranch for 4 years, and it was great. I came back today, and that last week was the best of my life. I really brought me closer to God. You probably shouldn't listen to the people who heavily critizized it. Everyone in my cabin had a blast. P.S. I'm 12 RID: 41401
Click to report rating    6/7/12   1     1     1     1     1   the staff this year sucked. The places were never kept clean it was nasty. The activities were for little kids and the blob had too much air in it. The staff find even care about you they were messing around and cussing the entire time. Definitely not worth it. RID: 41217
Click to report rating    5/12/12   3     3     4     4     4   I went to this camp. It was very fun. The cabins were terrible. 15 girls all squished into a cabin. There were very tiny showers with 3 walls and a curtain. The stuff available for everyone was clean and fun. Almost all of the counselors were nice. I wish at rec time you you didn't have to go one place at each hour For your money it was high. I did like this camp very well and plan to do it next year. RID: 41031

Click to report rating    2/7/12   5     4     4     5     3   Good camp, however, my husband's ex wife was allowed to call the camp and put charges to my husband's account for sending the step-children to camp. The account was linked to our bank account, so all of a sudden, $400 worth of drafts were coming out of the account. We had to call Sky Ranch and have them removed. My husband's ex wife called back and added the charges back on, and paid some of them, but not all. She did this 2 years in a row. We are currently in a lawsuit with her over this and other things. I have screen shots of the bank drafts and Sky Ranch itineraries and emails to prove this. How Sky Ranch could have allowed this kind of thing to happen is beyond me...can anyone call and say they are whoever and put charges to a camper's account? My daughter wants to go to Sky Ranch, and I am seriously considering sending her somewhere else. RID: 40280
Click to report rating    7/11/11   5     5     5     5     5   Honestly, the best camp I've ever attended. Not only are the activities fun and the counselors are incredible role models, but I have never before grown so much in my faith. Sky ranch will always have a place in my heart, and I hope I can work there as a counselor someday. RID: 36361
Click to report rating    3/26/11   1     2     1     1     2   This camp scarred my child for life. When school started, she didn't want to leave the house, and I didn't know why because she wouldn't talk about it. She wouldn't even sleep over at friends' houses for years. Five years later, she finally revealed that all of her anxiety and mental afflictions stemmed from Sky Ranch. The food was especially unsatisfactory, with little or no variety for vegetarians. She was forced to eat dry bread and peanut butter packets for an entire week. The counselors weren't nurturing and paid little attention to my daughter's needs. They tried to force her to jump from their "blob" even though she was terrified of heights, bribing her with a flavorless lozenge. The only activities she remembers with any clarity are getting sunburned at the pool and being forced to participate in mass dances, which was degrading and reduced her self-esteem. All in all, it was an awful experience. She went to Camp Allen four years later and had a lovely time. RID: 35447
Click to report rating    9/28/10   5     5     5     5     5   10 year old daughter went for the first time during this past summer (2010). She had the best time ever. She has had issues being away from mom and dad for than a night or two. At Sky Ranch she was never home sick. This place is worth every penny. Our niece and nephew have been attending every summer for the last several years and absolutely love it also. I could log onto my account at Sky Ranch and see pictures of my daughter throughout the day participating in activities. They try to get at least one picture of every child every day to post online for family to see - this certainly helped with my seperation anxiety. I would highly recommend this camp for any child. We are already in the process of planning her trip for summer 2011. RID: 34158

9/9/09   5     5     5     5     5   Outstanding Camp! Counselors are first class, as well as, Directors. Counselors must take training prior to selection ~ not just attend one yr of college like in more expensive camps in the hill country. Counselors give campers much one on one attention. Activities provide fun, bonding w/others, promote confidence and self esteem. Many parents are sending their children to old camps that cost much more, w/outdated activities. They have no idea what they are missing. Don't worry about molded clothing ~ send your child to camp for the fun and uplifting experience. Most parents know to not send expensive clothing items to camp. We also know camp is a learning experience in developing maturity and responsibility. It is not a baby sitting job if conducted in the correct way. The personal benefits far outweigh the loss of soiled clothes. You will not find a more professionally run camp than this one period. Click to report rating    7/27/09   4     4     4     1     4   My kids all came home with moldy clothes that were being packed wet all week. The attention to the little ones has a lot to be desired. My 6 yr. old was going to bed with wet hair. They didn't help her pack upon leaving and much was left behind. Their last night there they were told to sleep in their clothes because they wouldn't have time to dress in the morning. RID: 30561

Click to report rating    10/29/08   5     5     5     5     5   Yes, it is expensive. But... it is worth every penny. This will be my son's third year. He can't imagine a summer without it. If you sign up early enough, then you can pay out the tuition; that really helps. RID: 27216

Click to report rating    11/5/07   4     5     4     4     3   I went here on a retreat. I liked this camp, but its very big and we got lost a few times. They had good food and the cabins were a little TOO nice for camping. I'd go to summer camp here, but my parents say its too expensive. RID: 16794
