Your experience here depends on where you come from: the cliquishness is a bad problem. If you're from North Shore or Mpls suburbs, part of a tight group of families sending kids to Chi year after year, you'll probably have a great time. If not, or if you're not rich...well, prepare to be left out painfully, especially past the little-kid stage. Parents from outside these groups will also never hear key info that "everybody knows". For my kid, who's good at jumping in and making new friends, & had gone to lots of camps & had fun, it was one of the most difficult experiences she'd had. She got iced out completely. Chi taught her (expensively) not to bother with suburban Jewish life at all. Now at college, she cares about Judaism and Jews, but wants nothing to do with the Hillel, which is pretty Chi. The admin are problems, too -- they wouldn't come recruit parents at my shul, but my house was also no good because it was too small for them? What? McMansions only, I guess.

Terrible place. Bullying goes on and the counslers dont care. they yell at the campers and sweaer dont recommend at all.

An awful awful place. This camp has an absolutely horrible bullying issue, both in the camper and staff communities. I absolutely would not recommend sending your child here nor working here at all. On top of that, it is incredibly unsanitary. Summer camp being what it is, expectations should not be very high. In all honestly, the dining halls are maybe half as clean as your average Waffle House, the bathroom facilities are below college bar standards, and the cabins haven’t been properly cleaned since they were built. The floors are super sticky from years and years of grime. Finally, most counselors (and staff members for that matter) also have a big issue with favoritism. Do not send your child to this run down motel 6. Definitely look elsewhere.

THIS IS THE WORST. CAMP. EVER!!! The kids are disrespectful, rude and complete idiots. The counsellors are clueless and don't know what to do with the kids. I would NOT recommend going here AT ALL

CHI IS THE WORST CAMP EVER! The counselors were EXTREMELY RUDE! Way to much money! I wrote letters to my parents everyday, but the counselors just ripped then up during the night! Everynight my counselors would tell us scary stories before we went to bed, and one night my bunkmate wet her pants, and asked the counselors for help. They literally SMACKED her right on her bum! Not one child got attention and the counselors obviously only had this job to earn money. The lake is dirty! I GOT SO MANY BUG BITES! Now I go to another camp, Osrui, where the counselors Truly care about you.We got to enjoy sneak outs at Osrui, while at Chi only the greedy counselors had that fun! At Osrui we have both a lake and a pool, clean and fun! We also have a water tramp! At Osrui I only got 1 bug bite in the 6 years I was there! OSRUI IS THE BEST CAMP EVER! (Unless you want to be verbally bashed: DONT GO TO CHI!)

Camp chi is the best camp i have ever been to. There is never a dull moment, everybody is so nice and caring and i never heard of any "mean counslers" or any who hurt a camper. The sneak outs were a lot of fun one year we went for a midnight swim. Shabbot was also very heartwarming, worth every cent in my opinion.

I HATED CHI!!! The counselors only liked 1 girl in the entire cabin, and spoiled her. I also HATE that at chi, we don't get to go on sneak outs. At Chippewa, Osrui, and LWC, we got to enjoy sneak outs. Also the counselors yelled, swore, and even hurt campers. I would suggest trying Osrui, Chippewa, or even LWC, if you want a good camp. P.S At chi I got over 30 bug bites, and Osrui ( where I go now) I have only gotten 2 bites in my 4 years there.

Camp Chi is my home away from home. I would not be the person that I am today if it weren't for Chi. This camp provides me with so many unforgettable experiences and friends that last a lifetime. I can't even imagine what my life would be like without Camp Chi!

Camp Chi has really shaped the person I am today. It is going to be my 7th summer at camp this year and I wouldn't change a single summer. I hope it stays around forever so that I can send my kids when they're old enough to go to camp. You can tell that everyone at Chi genuinely enjoys being there, and if you aren't having the best time due to something like homesickness, the counselors and staff make you feel at home and a lot better. While you may think that 6 summers worth of camp would include repetition of activities and things like that, the truth is that during my 6 summers so far at camp, I have never repeated an evening program and even though I've done a lot of the same specialties, there are options for everybody no matter what your personality. A lot of campers find their niche and stick with similar activities, but I know a lot of campers that do different ones every week just to explore what Camp Chi fully has to offer. I think everyone should go to Camp Chi!!

When I went to Chi I felt very alone. My counselors REALLY didn't care about us. Sometimes they would sware, or spank a kid. The first night I cried, the counselor told me to "shut up, and get to sleep" which, of course made me cry more. It is WAY overpriced. Now I go to Osrui, where the counselors care a lot more about us. I never cried once at Osrui.

I can't say enough great things about Camp Chi. The counselors really care about the campers. There are many activities and you get to choose what you want to do. Shabbat is awesome. I've made the best friends in the world here. I can't wait to go back again.

this camp is amazing. this upcoming summer will be my 7th. i've made so many friends here, the counselors are amazing. chi has become my 2nd home. a summer without it is ruined. the food is also incredible...and you never get bored. PARTAYY.HOME IS WHENEVER IM AT CHI.

Camp Chi is the most amazing incredible place in the world. This will be my 5th summer there. I can't imagine going anywhere else. The activities are great, counselors are soooooooooooo nice, cabins are awesome. I love everything about it and you will to.

Simple the most amazing place to spend a summer. Next year will be my 7th year at Chi and hopefully not my last. I have made friends that will last the rest of my life and counselors that I can even talk to outside of camp. There are a wide range of activities that are awesome and facilities that embrace the camp experience. Going to Chi was the best decision I could have made in my life and wish I could be there all year round.

Wonderful. Amazing. My second home. If you hate this camp, there is probably something wrong with you. Nothing is perfect, but camp chi is the closest thing to it!! My most cherished memories were made at Camp Chi. I'm going back this year to be an SIT and I'm ridiculously excited! Camp has changed me in so many ways and I've really grown as a person. I would be completely different if I didn't have it in my life. My camp friends will stay with me for the rest of my life and I won't hesitate sending my own kids there for sure!

The worst camp I ever went to. I got no attention and my counselors could care less about us. It was not worth the amount of money you have to spend to go to it. There were very few staff members that were nice AND cared about the campers.

There is no camp better than Camp Chi! Everyone is so nice and friendly. Activities are amazing. Counselors are awesome. The best place to be in the summer!!!

i feel that it was average. the camp was really big, so i couldn't really get to know anyone. the staff was kind of distant, and although the activities were fun, you really don't get the unity and quality with such a large camp. i now go to a smaller jewish camp, wooden acres.

Definitely a good camp with good facilities. Although this is likely not different from other camps, there can be questionable conduct by the staff that is not always rigorously prevented by camp management.
