9/2/16   5     5     5     5     5   My daughter LOVED this camp. She didn't want to attend and she had a rotten attitude.....It was amazing how the excellent staff was able to engage her and give her such an awesome experience! She learned life skills that she is already using her first week of college. RID: 50060

5/24/16   5     5     5     5     5   I attended Supercamp last summer in Texas and it was the best decision I have made. I learned to much about my comfort zone and I learned how to become a better person and how to overcome my insecurities. I met so many wonderful and supportive people. The staff was so welcoming and so genuine. The last thing I wanted to do was go home. When i got off the plane and saw my mom the first thing I said was "please sign me up next summer". This camp changed my life and I am still so lucky to have the support of my friends I met to this day. When ever I am stressed or upset I just remember the tips that camp gave and I feel so much better. I can't wait for next summer! Counting down the days and only 50 more to go! RID: 49611

2/25/16   5     5     5     5     5   I sent my twin daughters for summer 2015 session at Loyola Marymount in LA. They are already very good kids but lacked some organizational skills and a little motivation. Super Camp helped them gain essential academic skills and life skills in an upbeat supportive environment. They even came home with new respect for each other! At the parent workshop at the end of camp I was so impressed how the organizers were able to pierce thru that teenage dedicated apathy wit hall the kids. It was infectious! We loved SuperCamp so much that on the final day when I picked them up I signed them up for the next level-Leadership Super Camp. They are looking forward to that for this summer RID: 49445
Click to report rating    12/16/12   4     3     4     4     4   I went to this camp back in the 80's so pls keep that in mind when you read this. This camp covers exactly what they outline on their site. Heavy on school work and personal self confidence building. Kids will get out of it what they put into it and it is the parents responsibility to continue what the camp started. One thing I did notice was that many kids were sent here by parents looking for help with their kids. Some kids did have emotional issues or family issues. That being said, most of these kids left the camp with a much better perspective on life. This is because most had low self worth/confidence, which this camp addressed. Yes, your children will be potentially exposed to these kids yet that also happens at their schools. I attended this camp twice and have good memories of it. I was a very poor student and this camp did help out. Not straight A 's helped out yet it made an impact both in school and with social skills. I would recommend it to families and children alike. Click to report rating    8/14/12   5     5     5     5     5   What a wonderful camp, my son came back with such an amazing attitude, and doubled his reading speed. They are full of positive energy, teaching leadership and things like Integrity, Respect and more. He attended August 2012 at Berkeley, and there were many, many kids that were there for their 2nd or 3rd time which was impressive. It is pricey, but if you have the means, well worth it. RID: 42372
Click to report rating    7/23/12   5     5     5     5     5   I am a high school senior just returning from my fourth year of SuperCamp. It has truly changed me. I went from a 3.0 student tO having nearly straight As. I met friends I still am in contact with. You get into SuperCamp what you put into it. Everyday I am so thankful I have the opportunity to attend such a wonderful camp. The confidence, motivation, and life skills I have gained are invaluable. It is worth every penny. RID: 42055

Click to report rating    7/20/12   5     3     4     4     4   I attended Supercamp at Brown University. I would say that most of the kids really enjoyed themselves. You meet a lot of new people and build relationships with them because once you are put in teams, they make you get personally closer. All in all, it was a good experience, even though at times I felt the activities were a bit childish and that the counselors were unusually hyper. They teach you academic and life skills, and there is a lot of stuff to take home. It may feel like a life changing experience the last day looking back at where you started, but it just matters if you apply everything you learned at home, which is very difficult RID: 41803
Click to report rating    4/27/12   5     5     5     5     4   Let's face it. Summer can be boring for kids. As a mom, I've got to keep them excited. I sent two of my four kids to Supercamp last year, and they both want to go back. I need to decide if I should send the ones who didn't go yet. Maybe it's not for everyone, but my kids had a great time, so I'd suggest you check it out yourself. Plus California is such a great place to visit, the weather was great every single day. RID: 40886

4/26/12   5     5     5     5     5   SuperCamp was an incredibly powerful experience for my son. Besides the strategies he learned to be responsible for his own academic success, he embraced the more challenging aspects of personal growth--tackling his fear of heights while on the ropes course and his fear of what others thought of him while interacting with his team mates and team leaders. His renewed belief in himself and that he could do things he didn't even think he could do literally caused a change in his stature. After graduation as we walked to the car I noticed how much taller he seemed. I asked him what happened to you. He simply said, "SuperCamp, Dad!" I highly recommend this program to any parent who desires to see his or her child become more competent as a student and more confident as a person. RID: 40861
Click to report rating    4/24/12   5     5     5     5     5   I have referred so many friends and family to supercamp over the years. I was shocked when a co-worker told me that there were bad reviews. I decided to look into this site for myself. I am very confused. These reviews do not match my own experience at all! My children have had nothing but positive, life changing experiences. My son went from a 1.8 iGpa to a 4.0. My nephew didn't want to go, but i talked my sister into sending him anyway. This camp changed his life! He's been back 3 times and now is a team leader for this summer. Every person that i have influenced to send there children, have thanked me for the best investment they ever made in their children's future. I read one of the negative comments that stated the cabins were terrible? There are no cabins, supercamp is held on college campuses. Are these referrels referring to some other camp by the same name? All i have to say is this camp is awesome. RID: 40842
11/26/11   3     3     1     1     1   I attended supercamp at Stanford in 2006 when I was a sophomore in high school. I cannot begin to explain how bad a camp this is. They literally treat you like you're 10 years old... No, make that 5. I can tell you from Meeting the staff there that they are ABSOLUTELY the type of people who will go on sites like these and write themselves great reviews, I guarantee it. I'm not at all saying that the things they teach you aren't in some ways useful, but they are incredibly simple and laughably not worth the price you pay. Also, their statistics about how students perform after the camp... Don't know where those come from since there is no follow up at all. If you think that I am just one bad camper just know that I'm very easy going and remained more positive than most. I was just thinking back on my time there and felt compelled to write a review. One more thing- don't be fooled by the fact that it's at Stanford! It has nothing to do with the school and they never let you explore. RID: 37349

8/3/11   2     3     2     2     1   My son attending this camp at Wake Forest last week. He called everyday to please pick him up. He said most kids were there because of poor conduct. Most parents were either divorced, broken families and some were in jail. My son was exposed to kids saying they passed out from drinking. Finally on Tuesday he said if you donot get me I will walk home "I hate this place". Many of the kids have major problems. We picked him up 5 days early and no councelor ever tried talking with us or him, about why he was unhappy. Noone from the camp ever called us, to see why we left early. THey just wanted to make sure he was signed out.Academically all they did in 5 days was go over the SATS for 45 minutes. They told the kids answer the easy questions first. THat was it. We asked the councelor and he said the real work starts later in the week. I would assume being someplace for 5 days they would cover more than 45 minutes, esp. for the price you pay. Complete false advertisment. Waste of money. RID: 36603

Click to report rating    8/30/10   3     2     2     2     1   To be honest, the camp for 10 days was not enough time to really help.It is way to expensive for what we received, even without the BAD NEWS.We attended the graduation ceremony, only later did I realize how rehearsed and carefully planned this exhibition was. Save your money, and family, our daughter returned home with respiratory illness, but this was not the worst.A few days later police came to our door,we found out the kids were encouraged,FORCED?,to share terror stories at night about life at home, and WE were reported by the camp for ABUSE.Now we are waiting to go through the social workers opinions and judgments of our family.Once a complaint has been reported it has to be investigated, and these reports are very serious,I have read horror stories of children being taken away, then it is up to parents to prove their inocence.Where to you get proof of absence of violation? This could go on for years and is really a slap in the face,we paid almost $3000.00. Click to report rating    7/26/10   5     5     5     5     5   Absolutely, without a doubt, worth every single penny. My teenage daughter left a typical maudlin teenager and came back after 7 days a confident, happy yound woman. Totally changed our lives. RID: 33493
Click to report rating    3/12/10   2     1     3     2     2   Supercamp, Most reviews are by parents. Do you think that they actually know what goes on. NO! Most of the kids there are bad, immature, or kids who's parents forced them to go. Me personally I play 2 Sports Football and Soccer. So I say i'm pretty active. So I was sort of happy to go but not fully. Because I have Soccer in July and Football in August. So it would be a busy summer. Grade wise I have 3 A's 1 B and 1 C. So grade wise I thought I would improve after the camp. NO! my grades were the same letter grade. In the cabins or beds (rooms) We were pretty packed. The Beds were small and Springy. The activities were not "fun" For basketball it wasn't even a real game. It was say one fact ABOUT YOURSELF AND SHOOT! And if you were winning they would take you out! SO TO WRAP THIS ALL UP. FROM A KID'S STAND POINT, CHECK FOR OTHER OPTIONS, MORE "FUN" MORE TRUE OPTIONS EMPHASIS ON "TRUE" AND "FUN". MOST OF THE REVIEWS ARE NOT TRUE. BUT THIS ONE RID: 32332

Click to report rating    5/1/07   5     5     5     5     5   SuperCamp is the kind of camp that has the impact to change lives not matter who you are. From campers to Team Leaders to Facilitators, lives and outlooks are changed. SuperCamp has completely shifted the way I think, learn, speak, and carry myself. I reccommend this camp as a place to not only attend as a camper, but as a Team Leader or any position. RID: 10355

Click to report rating    1/18/07   5     5     5     5     5   I've worked at Supercamp for the past 2 years and I can honestly say that working at SuperCamp has shown me that there is so mucb love in this world, we just can't always see it. SuperCamp gives campers and staff the opportunity to see good in themselves and in others in a enviornment that fosters teamwork and personal growth. I will never forget how this camp change my life. Click to report rating    1/14/07   5     5     5     5     5   Being involved in this program has truly changed my life. I have heard things like this over and over and frankly, they can be a bit cliched at time...and, this program truly has changed who I am, as well as who I am going to become. I reccomend to anyone I meet (or have yet to meet) to get involved in the Supercamp community in one way or anothe, whether as staff or as a participant. Never have I ever found a place with such intelligent, caring, and real people, and I don't think I ever will. The people I care about most in life are people I have met through this program. Supercamp attracts greatness, and encourages it as well. Check it out, you won't be disappointed RID: 6771
Click to report rating    1/11/07   5     5     5     5     4   SuperCamp is an incredible experience that truly impacted and changed the way I look at life. I find the camp beneficial for anybody at any age level to attend. I gave the monetary value a 4, due to its somewhat pricey rate for a 10-day camp, but the staff is superb. Staff members are energetic, positive, and perfect role models for any community. I honestly love this camp and wish that everyone could experience the life-changing perspective of SuperCamp. RID: 6706
Click to report rating    1/10/07   5     5     5     5     5   This camp offers a great opportunity for your child to learn more about their behaviors to make better decisions at home and at school. The academic skills learned along with life skills will help build a foundation for your childs future. The energetic staff and excellent facilities add to make the experience not only educational but also fun and exciting. I highly recommend this camp to any parent wishing their child to enhance current abilities and add new tools for success. RID: 6631
