My children have now aged out of camp, but we had many happy years at Chenny. However, the favoritism among certain campers has become hard to ignore. One of the head girls staff has her special favorites and these campers get all the awards, even when they outwardly bully and torment other campers. She'll post on social media during the off season for some campers birthdays, but not others. This type of behavior shouldn't be tolerated. Adults shouldn't be playing favorites, especially when these favorites are the bad seeds at the camp.

Great overall camp, your kids would love it however, the owner Jon is a complete joke, loser and puts on a great act. He will treat you like family when he first meets you and your kids however, once your bill is played, he will forget you and your child exist until. Me and my siblings went for a long time and after a couple years of going, Jon treated me when and my family like a pile of dirt. Your kids would love the experience, the activities and the counselors make the camp, not the owner, Jon. In fact, if the Associate directors took over ownership, I would confidently say Chenawanda would be the best camp ever. Don’t be nervous about your kids not having fun here, so just know that the owner Jon is an **** and doesn’t care about your children.

Camp Chen-A-Wanda has been an amazing summer home for my kids. Our kids have been attending CAW for years and we couldn't be happier with the counselors they have had, the camp facilities and the camp directors. Chen-A-Wanda has given my kids the experience of lifetime and I am so thankful for that. Highly recommend this camp!!

This is absolutely the most amazing camp in existence. I was a camper here for 4 years and it was the most phenomenal experience. The campers, counselors, and head staff make the environment so energetic. They have so much to offer, I personally enjoyed the circus and waterfront activities the most. Jon and Elissa are the best camp directors and made camp feel like my home. I feel like this review doesn't even do the camp justice. Wish we could stay here all year!

This camp used to be great, but is going down hill. They are packing the kids in more and more each year. They used to know everyone and now can barely keep track. The infirmary is overwhelmed and sends them out still sick. Without oversight, the kids have been acting more obnoxious to each other. My child has been here for years and she said that this is probably her last summer. "It just feels different now". With the upgrades, came more campers and over crowding with lower awareness of issues. They aren't in control of the bad behavior anymore.

Its going to my 5 summer. I've been going since i was six and don't plan to stop ever. Jon and Elissa are great. At this camp I always feel included and popular at this camp. Can't wait for Chenny 2017! :))

This camp is truly one in a million! The owners and staff go above and beyond to create a warm family environment. My campers feels safe, nurtured and relaxed at Chen-A-Wanda. With all of the over scheduling done at home, and the pressures of school, I am so glad my kids can experience this safe environment where they are encouraged to be themselves. We looked at many camps and nothing compared to Chen-A-Wanda. The service doesn't compare to anything else, and we love the friendly smiles we are greeted with both at camp and during Winter events :)

My son went to sleep away camp for the first time and had the summer of his life. It was life changing for him as he met great friends, loved all the activities and adored his counselors. The staff was incredible and I can't say enough about this camp. I was very nervous about sending him away for 7 weeks but the owners held my hand the whole way through. I toured many camps and this one delivered. There is no place like Chen-A-Wanda and like they say, life is great here. We love Chenny and can't wait until our daughter attends this coming summer. I wish they did an adult camp. Best decision we made was sending our son here.

My daughter came home 10 days ago and we are Still trying to help her get over this nightmare of a camp. She was bullied by bunkmates and had counselors who did nothing but care about their social lives. The owners response to meaness in her bunks was that "this is how girls act at this age". Really??? I agree with the post below. This guy is a smooth talker who loves you and your kids until the check clears. Stay away from this camp if you love ur kids , the guy has a big ego and no interest in happy campers.

The last of my 3 kids just finished his first summer at camp, and just like the other 2 u can understand why life is great at chenawanda. i am at ease knowing that my 3 kids are being taken care of by a great staff and 2 owners in jon and elissa who care for all the kids like they are their own. i see how lucky my kids are when i talk to other parents and i get the feeling that they aren't experiencing anything close to what my kids are. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but for the person that said the owners run this like a business--um, earth to person--this is a business--it isn't farmville. I suggest if u dont like going to camp with kids from only NY NJ CT and FL then dont goto a camp in PA. The countdown for next year already started on the busride home.

Love this camp. My kids had the best summer ever. This is their second summer and I have never written a review but felt it so necessary as a parent to see my kids soar at CAW. The staff is amazing. kid, supportive and fun. The owners are warm and caring and the communication between them and us parents is tremendous. We love Chen-A-Wanda and cannot think of a better place to send our kids to. If you are looking for an amazing place with extremely caring people that care for them, look no further. Life is Great at Camp Chen-A-Wanda. My kids live for this camp and the friends they have made are for life. Great camp..

If you want a camp where the majority of campers are from the owners home area look no further. The owner has no back round working with children at all. He is a business man who cares only about his wallet. My 3 kids went here for 1 horrible summer The camp is overpopulated and the staff is under qualified. The staff is immature and inappropriate. My child got a complete sex education lesson from her counselors while my sons counselors complained bitterly about how cheap the owners were and how much they lied. My sons friend was bullied and the owner could not care less blaming. One year was long enough for us. In 2013 we moved to a much better camp also in PA. Our new camp severs man other disgruntled "Chenny" campers as does our daughters friends camp also in the Wayne County area. Stay away from this overcrowded once upon a time (previous owner) great camp ruined by an ego maniac. He may have made the camp look better, but he has ruined all it's value.

2 summers so far and my daughter loves it there. I can't wait to send my son too. Great owners. They hire a great staff. Great facilities and they're always putting money back into the camp. Kids can pick focus activities/sports and end up playing travel and tournaments vs other camps in Wayne County. So cool. The kids are never milling about because they are very organized and keep the kids busy. GREAT camp spirit. Feels like the movie Meatballs but nicer! I want to go! Most importantly...it has a nice mix of kids. Sure they're from Long Island and New Jersey, Maryland, Florida...but not richie rich snobs. Go to Tyler Hill for that with their a/c bunks. If you want clean, fun, sporty, good spirit, and organization, this is the place.

THIS CAMP IS SOOOOO AMAZING!!!! THIS IS GOING TO BE MY 5TH SUMMER AND I ALWAYS HAVE AN AMAZING TIME. EVERYONE IS SOO NICE AND THEY REALLY CARE. THIS PAST SUMMER MY COUNSELORS WERE AMAZING AND I GOT REALLY CLOSE WITH THEM. I LOVE CHENNY SOO MUCH I AM RETURNING FOREVER!

2008 will be my fifth year at Camp Chen-A-Wanda. I absolutely love it. Getting off the bus at the end of the summer, I only count the days until I get back on that bus to go to camp. I become so close with the counselors and have so much fun at activities. The staff and activities are just fabulous! I know that all my friends love it as well. I know that at the beginning of the summer I will just have a blast and a truly amazing summer! Basically, Camp Chen- A- Wanda is my home away from home!!!

Chenny is the Best! There is no more welcoming place around.Fiddle Lake is a spectacular lake. The water is beautiful and the rest of the grounds are just as beautiful.Come and you won't leave.Life is great at Camp Chen A Wanda!

Camp chenny was awesome last summer; the staff from the directors all the way down to the counselors genuinely cares about each camper and goes out of their way to make it a GREAT experience for each camper. The fishing was awesome; as were all of the sports and other activities. No matter what your looking for in a summer camp, chen a wanda has it covered. Can't wait to go back.

WOW Amazing! All of the staff and campers made me feel at home. Their are so many facilities and all of them are great! I've been going for 5 years and most likely a few more to come. EVERYONE SHOULD GRASP THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME TO THIS CAMP!

this camp is the worst. Everyone is so mean and obnxious. the chefs suck and the counsleors favor people. I cant stand it ppl were just so mean because iwas the new kid and they would ruin everything i had. they raided my be during the night and iwoke up hysterical crying pulling syrup out of my hair. when there are parties for their birthdays they told me i couldnt come and it was my first summer so i thought they were serious but then the counselors laughed at me and told me it was a joke and i could come but nobody wanted me there. i dont know if the experience is the same for everyone but mine was bad. i know that many ppl love this place but there were 40 girls in the division and the year after (the year i came) there were only 15! that shows how mean that division is. I wish that i could of experienced this camp in a differnent division so i could say one thing that would be positive.i went to westmont the next year and it was absolutely amazing! boo chenny yay westmont.<3

I love this camp sooooo much. This will be my 5th summer and I am so excited. The song is telling the truth life is definetly great at camp chen-a-wanda. Also, everybody does wish they could stay there all year. Anybody that wrote a bad comment is not good enough for the camp! They are just jealous that we love camp chen-a-wanda more than they do! Well, that is all for now and remeber chenny is in our hearts for all times.

Really wonderful place. Our daughter went for 5 years and loved every one. She found that the community was much more inclusive than at the other couple of camps she had been to and her counselors were great. Great facilities and programming--a real winner overall!

I've worked at Chen-A-Wanda for the past 5 years and I can honestly say that working there has shown me that there are so many positive things in this world. The staff are truly amazing and really care about the children having the safest and best experience possible. This camp philosphy fosters teamwork and personal growth. I will never forget how this camp has changed my life.

Ok this camp may not have the best facilities, but the people there are great once you get to know them. My first summer was hell, the camp was full of JAPs and activities I was forced to do, however the counselors were the only reason I came back for a second summer. My second summer was definitaly better than the first because I made a few more friends and was less homesick and still the counselors made me feel great. My third summer I finally became best friends with everyone in not only my bunk, but division too. Homesickness?? What was that. Last year, my fourth summer, my whole bunk became sisters and I could not imagine not going back for years to come. I have made the best memories and friends at this camp. I was also able to convince my brother and his friend to go next year because I believe they will have the best summer expirience ever. Everyone should go to Camp Chen-a-Wanda.

people who do not attend this camp should not b commenting on here because they dont no anything(for example-the comment a few down) and for any person who went here and had a bad experiencce was because they probably werent ready for camp or started too late for camp...this camp is the best place on earth..beautiful camp nice bunks fiddle lake is huge and gorgeous and it has the most amazing sunsets ive made all my best friends here and the memories i have made here i woould never give back they are irraplacable no other camp can compare the most amazing counselors work here nice head staff and owners who arent out to get your money fun and numerous activities color war and olympics is awesome food is great for camp food great trips great people sports here is great we arent fake here at this camp everyone is friends with everyone and everyone knows everyone. you will get your moneys worth here. as the song goes...LIFE IS GREAT AT CAMP CHEN-A-WANDA WISH WE COULD STAY HERE ALL YEAR!

I just completed my 11th summer at Camp CHEN-A-WANDA. I have been going there since I was 7 and am now an employee. I have enjoyed all 11 summers and look forward to going back each and every year. I think about camp everyday. My best friends and memories are all from CHEN-A-WANDA and I plan to go back forever (no I'm not kidding). It is my home away from home and my extended family.

Ummm 1 word....horrible. I was supposed to stay at this camp for 8 weeks but the girls were so cliquish and mean I only bared to stay for 4 weeks. A week later after I left two other girls left from my bunk. One left because she too hated it and the other got kicked out for bullying and causing to much trouble in the bunk with a other campers. The staff only care about themselves. Worst decision in my life to go there.

I went to this camp for 12 years and now my children are campers. It is a very special place and the people are warm and friendly. They have made amazing life-long friends just as I did... which is what camp is all about.

i went to this camp for six summmers and its makes me cry to watch the videos online because i wish i could go there forever. dont listen to anyone who says otherwise....but it is true that some of the girls (the junior counselors of summer 2006) are very obnoxious...cute boyssss though
