Went for Tiger Safari this year and are pack and an AWESOME time!! Great to have a private lake to fish/swim/boat in. Facilities are good, overall experience was fantastic. Going again for Labor Day Family Camp.

Multiple, new shower house facilities available 24x7. Family-style food service every day (no forced Jamboree-style, do-it-yourself meals) in a nice, enclosed dining hall with pre-assigned tables and dedicated servers. Period-style (like high school) merit badge schedule (classes every hour) that kept the boys busy (and out of trouble). The only camp I'm aware of that has wireless internet access (adult leaders only). My only complaint is that it's a long haul from one end of the camp to the other (about a 25 min walk).

I have camped at Wente a few times now, and each year i come home more impressed. The camp is outstanding, and provides more opportunities than you can possibly do in a week (trust me, I've tried). From mountain biking, to horseback riding, to rifle and black powder shooting, Wente provides. Also, it has an amazing hiking trail system that alone could entertain you for a week. As for treatment of out of council troops - well - I come from an out of council troop, and the care has always been exemplary.

Wente is a wonderful all around scouting experience. In the 18 years I have been camping there, I have seen amazing growth. The 80 acre lake is a true gem, not to mention the warmest lake I have ever swam in. The new mountain biking program rivals any I have ever heard of. The Kali-Ama Trail was difficult but really lit a match under my boys. They need to do something about the poison oak, but that wont stop my troop. And the kybos stink, but as the camp director told me, "It's a hole filled with poo, some of that poo is yours"

Who are we? THE WENTE STAFF. they were very enthused about their jobs. every time i passed a coundelor they had a smile on there face. great program, wonder location. i have nothing bad to say at all.

The best camp I have ever been to. The private lake is warm and large enough for sailing, the 4200 acres is relatively undeveloped providing endless opportunities for day hikes. The new mountain biking program is fantastic and has excellent staff. There is something for every scout in camp even older scouts are easily entertained. The staff is very good in general, though some of the younger counselors are not too skilled at teaching their merit badges.

Obvious favortism toward in-council troops so that troops outside the council are at a disadvantage in competitions that entail subjective judgment.

The staff is to self-centered. In many areas of study the merit badge teaching is inadequate.
