Heard about this camp from a friend and sent my daughter there this year. She's having a great time and is always telling me about all she does each day--it makes me wish i was a kid again so I could go to Hillcrest!

camps leadership ruins any fun that can be had at this camp. I had some good summers there but having to deal with the director and assistant director really ruined it. They really dont know how to run a camp and also they don't know how to treat people either, like either workers or parents or campers. They yell at campers all the time, make fun of staff members behind theyre back, and just act veryy childish.

Hillcrest was a great camp. I enjoyed the trips. Color War was fun. In camp, I got to play all my favorite sports and games. I also made great friends. I can't wait for next summer to come. I'm looking forward to it. Hillcrest is a great camp.

The activities are boring and just to give the kids something to do, i once found a bugar in their pizza, the chef once made pudding while licking his fingers, its not even close to jewish anymore, and the counselors care about friends and money, and couldn't care less about the kids.

As a parent of a child who attended Hillcrest Day Camp for many summers of his youth, I must admit that it gives you the best bang for your buck. The food is delicious, the staff is warm and inviting (and qualified), the swim program is superb and there's never a dull moment in the gym. The teen lounge has been newly renovated and the video game room is the home to PS2s and wonderful games such as Britney Spears Dance Party. The director, asst. director, and office manager are extremely knowledgable and available to answer questions constantly. The EMT is a bodyguard to various rap stars, so he obviously knows his stuff. The Board of Health never finds any faults, and the camper-staff ratios are well below mandates, in some cases, 6 staff for 4 campers. The drama, art, and Jewish Heritage programs are entertaining, and my child comes home sad each day due to all the fun he had. And who could forget 2-3 trips a week, weekly cookouts, and Color War! I'd recommend this camp 2 ne1!

I personally disliked this camp. The counslers and kids that attend all had attitude problems, and none of the counslers cared about their camnpers. One thing I did enjoy was that there was never really a boring moment because of the constantv trips.

"I've had the time of my life...and I owe it all to" Hillcrest Jewish Center Day Camp. i've spent many years at Hillcrest and enjoyed every second (1044000 including the in-camp overnight, or in the rare summer when July 4 is on the weekend 1069200). Hillcrest Jewish Center Day Camp is the ultimate camp for children of all ages. The administrative staff is friendly and helpful, the counselors are responsible and trained well to work with children, and the campers form a close bond that lasts for years. Days are full of activities or trips and there is never a dull moment. This camp deserves the best possible rating, as I'm sure there are no other camps like it.

They say the friend you make in college you will have for life. Well this is true about Hillcrest. I was a camper, CIT, Life guard in the late '70s- early 80's. Hillcrest accounted for the best summers of my life.

I am a former camper-then-counselor from Hillcrest. Having been on both sides of the camper/employee fence, I can honestly say that Hillcrest is a great camp. The trips are great fun, the staff really loves children, and the on-camp activities are great. My best summers were spent at Hillcrest. It's a great camp, and I'd send my children there in a heartbeat.

Ive been going to Hillcrest almost as long the person below. It is pretty much very inexpensive considering the prices of other camps. It does not matter weather your child is Jewish or not. It is very diverse at Hillcrest. I do recomend though that if you are considering sending a young child (pre-school or kindergarden age) to make sure they enjoy being around childern their age, are okay with sharing and are used to not having mommy and daddy around all the time. The staff are overall responisble and care about the childs well-being. If you are considering sending your child to Hillcrest I also recomend to make your child come with you to orientation, so they are at least a little used to the building and see if this is what they really want to do with there summer.

Amazing camp...I've been there 11 years and keep going back for more. Activities, trips, and all aspects of this camp are incredible...it may be at a synagogue but it isn't only for Jewish campers. I love this place with all my heart and it makes my summers worthwhile.
