Click to report rating    3/7/19   5     5     5     5     5   They are always understanding of my daughters needs and patient with her. Staff seem to enjoy their job and be there for the campers. We appreciate the faith element this camp brings to our child's summer. RID: 52493

Click to report rating    5/26/15   1     1     2     1     2   My daughter and her friends went on a class trip to this awful place. They made her eat ragu for dinner and October fest sausage (that were actually long hot dogs.)A counselor , no names mention, " Adam" took the kids food , ate it, along with bullying them. I highly recommend not sending your kids here , send them to Ottawa or anywhere else in the world. Thankyou for nothing Camp Brebeuf. sorry not sorry. RID: 48689
Click to report rating    5/13/15   1     4     3     3     1   My son just got back from a three day class trip to Camp Brebeuf today and had an overall horrible experience. The children were asked to go to their rooms on the second night to retrieve any candy that they brought. The staff then advised them that the candy would be thrown out because "it would attract bugs". Later on that night some of the kids observed a staff member, "Adam", eating the candy in his room. On day three one group of kids was made to sweep the dining hall floor after breakfast. My son refused because in his opinion he didn't pay $70 to go on a trip there to sweep their floors. My son also complained that they were not fed enough food and he is not a big eater at all. I would not recommend that any school group take a trip to Camp Brebeuf. RID: 48658

6/28/09   3     5     3     1     3   Overall it is an OK camp. I have gone two years in a row and this year will be my third. The staff pays almost no attention or care to you and forces you to do things you don't want to. The food is amazing, unless you are a picky eater. You have to wake up at 8:00, for about 8:15 am is breakfast. There was one major incident that was almost unsolved. Every year a group of four Mexican kids come to Camp Brebuef for the entire summer. Last year, they constantly picked on a kid their age , but half the size. They physically punched him in the stomach, and threw a broom at his head for no reason. It is still unsolved to this day. And the Mexicans received NO punishment. RID: 30254
Click to report rating    1/30/08   2     3     4     1     3   The facilities were ok, the beds were really bothersome(get new matresses), and the buildings were all cold. The personal attention was horrible, they got mad at me when I got headaches, then instead of finding someone to help me (because I have ADHD) they kicked me out because I was too much of a hassle. Also the counsellors didn't care when I broke my foot because as they said "you just have a sprain, just go take a walk and just walk it off" (which lead my fracture to become a large break). Click to report rating    12/14/07   4     3     3     4     4   I went with my school and this camp had a lot of potential but my class was sooo bad! I felt so jipped because of them. And the beds SUCKED, I kept slipping off with my sleeping bag. Plus the 3 days we were there it was pooring rain and 3 ppl lost thier shoes in the mud XD But overall it was fun, the activites were great, the food was amazing but I also felt there were too many rules (like the lights out rule) and how whoever sat at the back of the food room got last dibs of food, and the stupid water pitcher rule, and that stupid points system thing. Hmm, I guess I didn't really like it! Oh, and a good tip: DON'T WEAR NICE CLOTHES! They'll get ruined =( Long live my poor uggs. R.I.P RID: 18007
Click to report rating    6/20/07   5     5     5     5     5   This camp is amazing! I feel so bad for anyone who doesn't get to experience the greatness of this small place in Rockwood! All of the people there have really changed my life. I have spent my last 6 summers there and haven't regretted a minute of it because i keep going back! The people there are awesome beyond belief; like it says in the "camp rocks" song, "I'm gonna go to camp this summer where I can be free, imagine all the friends i'll make just by being me" this is so true because at this camp you really can just be yourself and be accepted. I definately will spend the rest of my summers here playing sticks, going to the cons, canoeing, archery, crayfishing, having campfire, tuck, liturgy, ABCs, high ropes, low ropes and who could forget, going to the point. <3camp brebeuf is love <3 RID: 12264
Click to report rating    5/7/07   5     1     5     5     5   Really awsome camp and good councellors. Poor senior fusion. He was a catterpiller and he died. oh well. But yah like i said good camp, and the food was really good. The rowing and the highropes and the archery where really fun. The only bad things i didnt like about the camp was the mosquitos and the cabins, and i agree with the one girl kids need to talk, and guys need to chill. Going to bed early is just not an option, although they didnt get too ticked about sneaking out of the cabins kinda an unofficial rule. RID: 10635
Click to report rating    1/21/07   4     3     5     4     3   THE BAD: not very flexible (ie: we fell out of our canoe and into the dirty pond-counsellor said we couldn't shower because we had liturgy then dinner so we didn't eat because we were dirty! Her solution was purel for our hands while we were soaked in pond water.), food isn't very great either! 2 times I've gone there and we haven't been able to go swimming because the pool had algae or something in it. Lights out sucks-pre-teen girls want to talk and giggle before bed, not lay there silently (5 & 6 year olds are only a couple of cabins away) THE GOOD: high ropes course is something I've never seen before-lots of fun and challenge, once a week you get to go camp out, once a week you have a special event night (sports week used to be Wrestlemania, I think they changed this though), night games in the field (for older kids I guess-man hunt and sardines) were a lot of fun when we went with school.
