My daughter is finishing up her first time at Camp Cayuga. I singed her up for 2 weeks since she has never gone before. She went not knowing anyone, and told me she made some new friends.
I got a letter telling me she's not homesick. I am able to see photos online of what she may be doing. I know she will ask to go for longer next summer. Thank you Camp Cayuga for making my daughter smile.

I worked at Camp Cayuga in both summers 2019 and 2020 as a Camp Counselor on Main Campus. In just two summers I can truly say this place feels like my home away from home. The camaraderie and fellowship offered at camp between not only the staff but the entire campus is stunning. Camp Cayuga has given me an opportunity to influence the lives of kids in a positive way and give them an unforgettable summer while also offering me the best summers ever. It truly is the best of both worlds and I will forever be grateful for the friendships I've made and the impact camp has had in my life.

Camp Cayuga is amazing! There are so many great activities! The staff is amazing. They get to know you really well and you become friends with them. Cayuga also does a great job with cabin assignments. Each cabin is big enough so I always have someone to talk to but small enough so I can get to know everyone. The cabins are well designed and it is easy to get around the camp. The activities are awesome! One of my favorite activities is horseback riding. Everything is great including the barn, riding rink, horses and staff. The lake is amazing and there is plenty to do. I do feel like I can get some personal attention when I need it. For example, I was feeling homesick the first year. My counselor sat down and talked to me which made me feel a lot better. Honestly, this camp is just amazing. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who loves an action-packed day.

My son loved his camp experience. He was able to pick what he wanted to do all day long which he loved! He is not very sporty and they had a lot of other activities that he was able to do. He loved horse back riding and sailing!

went to cayuga this pst summer and hated it. i'm 12 and going into 7th grade and i was the only new kid in my cabin. all the other girls in my cabin already knew each other and they were very cliquey. they left me out of everything and were obviously rude, and the counselors didn't do anything about it. the activities were quite good, but i wasn't able to make any friends and counselors didn't say anything to the kids making fun of me. would not go back

My son is pretty much a "Summer Camp Critic"....he's a hard grader and has attended numerous camps over the years including academic, sport, recreational, day camps, sleep away camps etc. This is the "FIRST" time that he actually requested to return to a camp and gave a camp glowing reviews!! He attended Camp Cayuga in summer 2017 for two weeks and requested to return summer 2018 for four weeks! He absolutely loves it. He loves the freedom of choice and there are many activity choices.
He loves the camaraderie with his cabin buddies and counselors and he returns home each summer more relaxed and mature. It's really a wonderful experience for kids and allows them to connect with nature and the outdoors while disconnecting from phones, internet & social media. Food quality can improve a bit (especially breakfast). But despite this issue, the camp still gets a 5-star rating in our book!! Greer Family

My girls started here at ages 7 and 8 and now they are headed into their 3rd summer. The both go for 6 weeks but want to go longer. The staff is amazing. The counselors care about the kids and the front office is always helpful and accommodating. Without a doubt I would recommend this camp to any kid...well only if they want the best summers of their life

My sons learned so much as campers here. They were able to participate in things that would have cost me a fortune had I purchased them lessons back in NJ. They became self-sufficient while making friends with staff and fellow campers who hailed from all over the world. I would not hesitate to send my child to Camp Cayuga.

My two teenage sons attended Camp Cayuga the last two summers. It has been a wonderful experience for them. The counselors have been great and there are so many activities to choose from the kids are never bored. The evening entertainment programs are creative and fun. The whole camp atmosphere is all-inclusive. The team leaders are great and really get to know the kids. Felt so comfortable leaving them there for the session. Really, so happy we found Camp Cayuga! I was so nervous to let my 6 year old attend a sleep away summercamp... I did all the research and still was a wreck... fast forward 3 years, I don't even know why I hesitated. All he talks about are all his camp adventures. The counselors seem to really be good with each kids individual uniqueness and that was important to me.

Year after year, for 8 summers now, I've watched kids and teens grow as a result of their summer experiences at Camp Cayuga. AND, they've had incredible fun too! Each summer, it's obvious they have grown and matured. When your child attends summer camp, he learns how to work with others, build meaningful relationships, accept guidance and develop decision-making skills. AND, have fun! Camp Cayuga was the BEST decision I ever made for our family, and I highly recommend Cayuga to parents on a regular basis. AND, did I mention fun? Oh, the fun times we all have all summer long! I worked there one summer and brought my 10yr old granddaughter. Both us absolutely loved this camp! So much to do! Different activities every day, kept her active and happy all day. The experiences she got from Cayuga she would never have been able to do anywhere else. Her all time favorite was learning the trapeze and of course all the activities at the lake. As a grandmother and a nurse it was a very safe place to be, which is every parents first concern.I would go back again if my job allowed me off all summer. She'd be packed now to go in June. We both made a lot of great friends there.

Anti-Semitism Tolerated
Initially, I thought I had found a reasonably priced coed camp with some nice perks including horseback riding and day trips to baseball games at Yankee farm team. However, once the kids were home from their first summer I started to become concerned about a number of issues, including lax attention by nursing staff, poor communication when issues came up while kids were at camp, disparate treatment of campers who were children of staff and most alarmingly a tolerance for anti-semitism.
Considering a large percentage of paying campers come from Jewish families I found it difficult to believe that the owner would allow any anti-semitism and was sure the issues would be promptly addressed once brought to his attention. Unfortunately, my confidence was misplaced and the owner tolerated comments by staff member's child who was camper such as "I like that Jewish kids wear yamakas because I know who to avoid." I will not allow my children to return.

i love cayuga!my first year, i was 12. as many people know most girls that come in when they are 12 dont have that many friends because of exclusive groups. when i got there, i made friends instantly that i am still best friends with!it changed my life forever. i recomend cayuga so much. CC!!!

I love camp cayuga! its the best camp ever! the counsellors are like your friends, but they still enforce the rules and when they get mad at you they dont attack you its great! i miss my camp friends so much they are the best and im so sad i live so far away from all of them they're more like sisters to me and brian buynak tries really hard to know everyones names and he talks to a lot of kids everyday so it must be really hard i extended this year and im so happy i was so sad when i got home because cayuga you were constantly doing stuff and then once i got home i was bored and there was nothing to do so yeah I LOVE CAMP CAYUGA BEST CAMP EVERR!!! IT WAS MY FIFTH YEAR THIS YEAR AND I LOVE IT!!

This is my son's first sleep away summer camp experience...and he is LOVING it! We originally signed him up for a two week session and he begged to extend his stay. I spoke with him briefly a few minutes ago and he is already expressing sadness about leaving camp next week. He says every activity is his favorite..from horseback riding, tennis, circus, archery and of course the amazing lake activities. His counselors are great too! The director for the Junior campus, Junior Jan, has been amazing! She has communicated with us through email and phone regarding a couple of "issues" that were quickly and easily addressed. My son was socially immature and was easily picked on by schoolmates. I truly felt that sending him to sleep away would either be the best decision or the worst decision. I am happy to say it was the best! He is more confident and happy. Looking forward to next summer!

Cayuga.Is.GREAT! The Staff are definetly friendly n cool, the activities r incredible! (Especially trapeze) n you make so many friends that you will never 4get. The only thing that isn't THE best wud be the cabins, this year there was a hole in the floor, and u cud c the grass and sometimes there r holes in the walls, but that stuff can always get fixed! THe people @ Cayuga r just Amazing. Brian Buynak (the owner) is so caring and so nice! and I couldn't think of a better pllace to spend 5 years at! Lol, yepp, and I'm definetly going 2 b a counselor! The only thing I wish for Cayuga 2 get are Jet Ski's, Full Length Mirrors, and a Counselor in Training Program. So that way, kids who r 16,17,and 18 who have been at the camp for as long as I have, and who dont want 2 leave can work there! They have it at Lohikan!(But Lohikan is not even as CLOSE to as much fun as Cayuga is!)Cayuga is a place like no other. A place where you can just b ur self and not have 2 worry. I will always <3 it!

Friendly place. Kids are from all over - Florida, California, and Europe. Cabin staff are responsible and the department leaders are professionals and aim to please. They offer a lot of activities too and they are all included in the camp tuition. My daughter rides their horses everyday at camp and has attended for 3 summers. Her first summer she was originally enrolled for 2 weeks and extended to 4 weeks. We highly recommend this camp.

I just finished my 4th year at Cayuga, and it has by far been the best 4 summers of my life. I've been to 3 different camps throughout my life and this was the absolute best. It was just an amazing experience and I made so many friends that I will always remember. It's so much fun and I suggest it to anyone looking for a fun summer experience.

I went to cayuga this summer and now i dont think i will ever be able to go back to a sleepover camp again!. Most of the other bad comments say what i want to ssay but here is what really got me mad my Councillor Ally talked with other staff members about what guys "had game" right in front of me! Your parents pay 112 dollars so yo can get snack everyday and they tell you that if you need stamps to send letters home you can go to the camp bank and take out 50 cents for a stamp. nope! you cant they wont let you use canteen money, the only way i could get a stamp was because i had 40 dollars put in so if mom or dad didnt give you extra cash cause they thought it was taken care of your drinking water for atleast two weeks so dont go there its a waste of money

This was the best camp ever!!! The five summers i went here were the best summers of my life and i can't wait to go back and visit! This is where my love of horseback riding started and continues today. I am currently an active rider at home participating in shows and camp cayuga is the place for me to thank where i got started!! Also i have made friends for life here. IT IS AMAZING AND I THINK IF YOU GO YOU WILL HAVE THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!! Every year i went i didn't want to go home i wanted to stay there forever and was hysterical when i had to leave! I LOVE THIS PLACE!

This camp is amazing I have been to other camps and none even come close to comparing to this I am a 4 year campper and I'm still going there currently. The Staff is amazing and well trained to deal with any situations. You get personal attention from your conselour, other conselours, senior staff and activity instructors. The facalties are amazing and being imporved every year during non-summer months so no activities are shut down (nothing is dangerous it's just re-painting etc.) The acticities are amazing from trapeze to extreme sport jumping to theatre to arts and crats. The trips are from minor league baseball games to miagra falls to hershey and dorney parks. The monetary value is great based on trips, facalties, activities, staff, etc. You can also gets discounts for sibilings and other things. Cayuga keeps in touch with kids with newsletters for kids every 2-3 months that are funny and exciting. I would definitly recommened it to anyone (I didnt know any1 when I went)

i have sent my two children to this camp for the past three years. This has been one of the best things I could do for my children. I have seen such a wonderful change in them They have shown maturity, independence and a real ability to stand on their own two feet. They have made friends from all over and can't stop talking about Cayuga. i recommend this camp to anyone. it is a wonderful place for your child.

ok. i had the time of my life at cap cayuga. i made so many new friends. but just one thing, there was a division directer nmed jon.. it seemed like he woke up on the wrong side of the bed...every day. but he owner of the camp was verry helpful with any and all problems i had. see i could never get baseball tickets (yes they have base ball =]) and i wanted our cabin to leave earliey for activities one morning and he hooked us right up!also there is gaga... i hope all the parents know that basicly if your sending a senior to mainside thats what your paying for. i know thats what i did and i regret it a little. but it WASNT A WASTE OF MONEY. i will never forget camp cayuga my whole life!! the evning activities can get a little dull but friends make it fun=]. there are several other cams in the area.cayuga is the best. then comes lohkan. so all in all this was the best experiance of my life! i hope someone reads this and attends this camp, its worth it. This is my daughter's 7th year and my son's 4th. I love that they have spent their childhood summers at Cayuga. It feels like I am sending them to a huge and loving family every summer. We chat with the owners and directors, and are continually amazed at how well they know the details of our childrens' camp experience. I find they are very attentive when I call with any concern I have. Most importantly, the choice program allows my children to focus on activities that they love - this year it is hiking, art, and boating - while being a safe, supportive environment to encourage them to try new things.

Camp Cayuga is super fun. People always make great friends and lasting memories. Everyone is so welcoming. This camp doesn't split into popular and unpopular. Everyone knows everyone, which is one of the greatest feelings anyone can have. As mentioned in some of the reviews before, Camp Cayuga is not a camp for really learning anything new. The activities such as tennis, lake swimming, rock climbing, ect. all really should be under the title "Hang out and Do nothing". The kids just go to the camp to socialize and there definately is a lot of pda, especially on teen side (not so much on main side). But, overall, the camp is a ton of fun. Out in the quad, people play water balloon fights, pillow fights at night, this roof game, and a ton more! So in other words, the kids make the activities, not so much the director.

I am a parent whose child is attending Cayuga for the 2nd summer. My daughter enjoyed herself so much and stayed for 27 days. I had previously sent my daughter to another camp and she was supposed to stay for a week and a half, she came home after a week, worst time of her life. So I have to give Cayuga props, they are doing a great job and my daughter will be attending every summer until she can no longer attend because of her age. If you want an awesome camp experience for your child, you should definitely give Cayuga a try, I read some of the other comments about who's hooking up with who, unfortunaley you will have teenagers who are looking to hook up, it's part of being a teen. When I went on the camp tour and they were explaining all the activities that the kids did, I was amazed and I asked when do they shower, I was told when they find the time, like before dinner or during their few minutes of rest. They are kept busy morning till night, wonderful camp. Can't praise it enough

Iam going to this camp this summer. We went to tour 3 camps. the camps were cayuga lohikan and lake greely. out of all the camps i thought this one was the nicest. we didn't go there on one of those phony scheduled visiting days were they tell the kids to be on their best behavior. it was so nice. the guy who took us on a tour was so friendly and everybody says high to everybody. the camp facilities looked great. everything was picture perfect. what i especially liked was the lake. it was beautiful and it was the perfect size. and there was also a very nice strip of sand at the lake. at the lak there was tons of boats and a water trampoline ans swimming. another good thing about this cayuga is if you are going into 5th grade or older you get to design your own day and do whatever you want the whole day. but do not get me wrong it is very organized. they even take attendance at the activity before they let you do anything. also the cabins were very new and bathrooms were nice.cayugaaaaa

As a staff member with children at the camp I see it differently than the campers or counselors who are rating this camp. This is a very nice camp - great facilities (bunks are pretty crowded though), activities are numerous-the kids love it and think it is the best camp. The campers are permitted to choose their activities on a daily basis, but do the parents realize that they are paying $$$ for their child to go to "gaga" 3 x per day so they can "hang out" I found this to be very prevalant. Also, the "no public display of affection - PDA" NOT! On paper this is a great camp but when you really see what is happening you may think twice. They lost a great Director and replaced him with one that really didn't want to be there. The counselors were more interested in where they were going and who they were hooking up with on their day off than taking care of our kids. Brian and Trish need to get back to the basics of camping instead of just seeing the $$. Need KEY people in Key positions

Although some people love it my daughter hated it. on the website they make it seem as though children can particapate in whatever activities they want but they cant. at all. also they make it very hard for your child to go home early. my daughter was there for two weeks and after the 2nd day she wanted and needed to go home but the counslers didnt contact me untill after one week! and toke away her cellphone. the camp is not worht 2000 dollars at all. dont go. dont go.

I have worked at Cayuga for 2 summers, and can't wait for number 3. There are alot of activities for the campers to choose from. As with any camp Cayuga isn't perfect but what camp is? the owner is awesome, he's always around when needed, and if the kids ask him if they can swim in his pool, he always says yes.The camp looks great, the buildings are in great shape. It's a wonderful place to go as a camper and to work. I highly recomend it.

This camp is great. I worked there as a senior staff member and all I can say is that I wish I were a kid so that I could experience Cayuga. I will definately send my children to Cayuga when they are old enough. My only suggestion to parents is to wait until your children are at least 9 y.o. The camp allows children as young as five but it seemed to be far too young. The younger children were very confused and appeared to feel abandoned. Teen side can get a little bit rowdy so make sure to keep tabs on yuor children when they reach 12ish.

ten years...and im going back as a counceler. those other people left only two days in and didnt even have time to experience anything - i feel bad for them b/c camp is where ive had the best time of my life!

i hated this camp evrything about it was horrible..never going back there again....im going back to the camp that will always be my summer home...wazi wazi waziyatah! that is the best camp ever!!

I have to say it is gonna be my third year and it is GREAT! I love it, You are always doing something, never being left alone. Everyone is SO nice! The consulors are awsome and they care about you! They even go shopping for you on their day off!! They are amazing. Cayuga forever !!

best camp ever... i loved it... u meat so many freind, the counslers are great and u are always doing something.either the evening program or the activity of ur choice. some of my favorite activitys were horse back riding, wind surfing,extreme bungge,anything at the lake, or just hanging out with ur freinds. its a great camp, i give it a 10.

the director was never there- the Division head was mean and the couselors didn't fix the problems that happened. I left early

all i have 2 say is that was the most worst camp ever! i have been to a lot of camps this is the worst!! most deff.!!
