BEST SUMMER CAMP AROUND!! My daughter is on her 3rd year at WOD and she LOVES IT. She really connects with all the counselors and directors and The entire staff is ALWAYS so attentive to our families needs, especially anything my daughter and the other children need throughout the summer.
Our 7-year-old daughter has attended World of Discovery the past 3 years. From the moment she set foot on the BIG YELLOW BUS she has loved everything about it--the location, the facilities, the activities, her fellow campers, the staff, and especially the counselors, whom she idolizes. When her time there ends, she starts counting the days until she gets the past Summer DVD in the mail to watch and when she can go back. When she arrives home after pick up, she is excited to tell us all about her day and the fun things she did. My daughter has been attending this camp for two years, she has had an amazing time and has made some great new friends. The counselors are attentive and respond quickly to any questions we may have.

This camp is truly UNDERVALUED!!! It is the best camp thus far. I am a true helicopter mom who is extremely concern for the safety and welling being of my daughter. At every step of the way World Discovery Camp personalizes daily activities, trips, transportation, health issues and any concern I might have as an over bearing parent. This will be my daughter's 3rd year (6yrs-9 yrs) attending this award winner camp. Every year my daughter begs me to add more weeks to her summer experience. I promise you that you won't regret the money spent. Btw campers only go to the movies on rainy days.

My daughter has been going to World of Discovery every summer since 2010 (age 5). Since then, every August when camp ends, begins her 2 weeks of mourning. She misses her camp, camp friends and counselors.
The camp has been my daughter's home every summer. They have great trips, fun activities, excellent swim instruction, and wonderful staff. I have never had any issues with any of her counselors. My daughter came home happy every day.
The camp has always accommodated my daughter and made sure she was grouped with her friends each year, making any adjustments if necessary.
WOD provides door-to-door bus service. Pick up is usually within a 15-20 minute window, and at drop-off they always make sure she's in the door before leaving.
My daughter is looking towards next summer, and how she can't wait to go back, and spend another great summer with her friends.
All and all, a great camp. Keeps my girl happy and active all summer. I wouldn't send her anyplace else.

I can't put into words how disgusting and filthy this camp was. The heads are old rude men that have no care in the world. I hope they will be shut down considering how they treat people.

Words cannot describe how much I love this camp! I have been a camper for ten years since I was four years old. The camp has become a second family to me, and I have gained so many friends throughout the years.

My children and their friends absolutely loved World of Discovery Day Camp. This was the first year my children attended World of Discovery. My children and their friends had gone to another camp and they werent thrilled with it. So myself and the other parents were trying to figure out what we were going to do with these kids in the summer. Somehow I got the job of researching camps and finding a camp for the kids. After doing A LOT of research I came across World of Discovery and I hit the jackpot. All of the kids (and parents) were so happy! Thank you World of Discovery my kids have found a home here!

this is the absolute worst summer camp. i went to this summer camp and i only survived 2 weeks. all the kids were mean, judgemental, and ignorant. out of the 8 counselors in our division, only 2 actually cared about the kids. i cant believe my parents spent so much money on this piece of crap camp. we eat junk everyday for lunch. we only spend like a max of 2 hours at the trip we go to and we die out there in the hot sun for the rest of the day. even the counselors bully the campers. i couldnt wait to go home everyday. parents, please only send your kids to this camp if you hate them.

I am a counselor at WOD now and was a camper when i was younger. Loving it as a camper made me want to come back as a counselor. However, as i started working there, i realized the unorganization throughout the directors. I will say that one in particular is quite rude to the counselors which i don't agree with. However, I absolutely love my division, campers, and co-staff. The trips are always fun and entertaining and the camp itself provides a fun and healthy summer environment. I'd recommend sending your child because everyone is so friendly and hands on and makes your child the #1 priority. However, one director could use a few tips on how to be nicer and more of a people person... It is a fun summer job for teens

The staff at world of discovery day camp is the reason why my kids go year after year, the bus counselors are always so friendly and the division leaders always stay in contact with us, all in all wod does a great job providing a fun safe summer for kids,

The staff is abbsolutely amazing and the directors are hands on.My kids love this place.They have been going to World of Discovery for 5 years and I swear they will never leave! The prices are reasonable and the trips and activities are really amazing. We look forward to many more years of fun

My children went to World of Discovery last year. I never write reviews, but I felt that I had to. My kids had the most amazing time. I was hesitant to send my son because he tends to be very picky and does not like anything! well guess what? He absolutely loved this camp, he couldn't wait to go everyday. My daughter loved her counselor Nicole. When she got home all we heard was Nicole did this and Nicole said that. She cried the last day of camp because she wasn't going to see her counselor or her friends anymore. The Directors were so accommodating, no matter what time you called they always seem to answer the phone and nothing was ever a bother. The buses were always on time, and the bus couselor was amazing, plus the buses being air conditioned was also a huge bonus. My kids went on trips and did things that I absolutely would never have the time or energy to do with them. We loved the well rounded itinerary, fun and educational. We wil definitely be back next summer.

My children were there last year and this year. The only reason I sent my children there was to let my kids get enough vitamin D and store it for the whole year. I didn't like them for these reasons: 1. None of their activities is brain stimulating. My kids learned nothing but some swimming 2. very badly organized. My children kept losing their belongings. 3. so-called free lunch is the one that's from NYC. 4. their buses run late in the morning and came early for the drop-offs. 5. It seems that there were campers from not well educated families. My kids picked up some very bad behaviors, which we took a while to have it corrected. 6. Their charge is comparatively ok, but don't get fooled by that. Here is the most ridiculous part of this camp: they ask for TIPS for their staff at the end of the camp. If we had given the amount of TIPS that they had SUGGESTED, we would've paid another $1000 extra!!! Ridiculous!!!

This summer was the first summer my daughter went to summer camp. I was very nervous for the first few days, but by the end of the first week i calmed down. My daughter is not one for organized games and sports. In fact she's very much into arts and crafts and any creative activities. She would come home everyday and tell us about the crafts and activities she did or the special events she saw. World of Discovery has staff members who really love doing what they do and it reflects onto the children. The children are engaged and really enjoy all the many different activities daily. My daughter even got involved in the different sports and athletic events because all the counselors involved took the time to engage her. She became very interested in soccer and now plays it just about on a daily basis. The best thing to witness is your child enjoying experiences and smiling and being happy each day! We are BOTH looking forward to next summer!

My childrem loved WOD. They came home everyday with plenty of great stories and enjoyed all the activities and trips. The staff was great and the kids loved them. The directors always had the time to answer any questions. We will definately be back next year

I'm a current camper. This camp is good. I like the activities but i do not like the people (campers). The conslers this year where AWESOME! The camp could be more organized, but it is okay. They made me do arts and crafts, and I am way to old (12).

i went to this camp years ago as a camper.. and i was staff therer in 2006. it is unfortunate that the camp changed so much. the staff is unorganized and i actually overherd a counselor tell a kid "im not paid to listen to you whine all day" while sitting next to a camper that was hurt and beleeding. this camp is not worth your money. granted there are great counslors.. but unfortunatly they are few and far between. now im working at marks JCH a different camp thats located in brooklyn.. and i can honestly say that their program is amazin compared to discovery and the campers are cared and looked after by an awesome staff. read reviews and go visit the camp before you send your child to any camp. also ask to speak to staff who will be working there and the age of most staff members.. the median age should be 18 if younger then that.. think twice

First off let me say the camp is way to much money..2nd im 1 of the boy campers in tha older divisions and the directiors and counclers treated me like as if i was a criminal..i had 2 stay with a councler every where i went..I kno its for my own safety but they judge you wayy to quickly !

i worked for them, let me tell you the camp is way too-costly, and they dont even have a realy, building for the kids to stay in if its hot of cold or raining! children stay out in the heat at a park doing things they can do on there own. in that kind of hot weather even the staff couldnt deal with it... i have no idea how the kids did. the food is school lunch! and they dont have good first aid. plus the pool is dirty and freezing cold with nasty locker rooms. btw if it rains the kids sit inside a school ALL DAY doing nothing... i cant even tell you how sorry i felt for everyone. the only good thing out of it is that you get a trip once a month and kids get to be social... but ask yourself if its worth the money for THIS CAMP.

As a parent, I found the camp organized and well run. The child loved it and I would send her again. Perhaps older children do not enjoy the camp experience as much as younger ones, henc the negative reviews. A little expensive, but what can working parents do??
