Click to report rating    11/30/10   5     5     5     5     5   Sabattis is an awesome high adventure camp right here on the east coast. The resident camp is a perfect step up from ordinary cub/boy scout camps. Everything is patrol-oriented, even down to the cooking in your campsite(though food is provided for you to cook). During the time spent down in the "central" part of camp, Scouts have a full range of Merit Badge and other fun activities including an ever-expanding C.O.P.E. course, zip wire, mountain biking program, and lots more. As soon as you've spent a couple of weeks there or are itching for more high adventure, be sure to take a TREK. With 6 million acres of Adirondack Park, there are an infinite number of choices. Although they offer hiking treks, I've only taken canoe-based treks. The staff drops you off and picks you up so you can plot your own course if you don't like one of the "canned" routes. They provide a trained voyager and KEVLAR CANOES -- if you've never used kevlar then you're going to get spoiled! C 'ya there- bgs RID: 34511
Click to report rating    3/8/09   5     5     5     5     5   Sabattis is the best scout camp that I have ever seen. Their program competes with Philmont and Northern Tier, but it's much more of a personal atmosphere. BEST CAMP EVER! RID: 29209
Click to report rating    1/14/08   5     5     5     5     5   What can I say, Sabattis is amazing! I've been there every summer since I was 13 years old (I'm now 23 and plan to return this summer). The staff is the best I've seen and they keep adding to it every year. It's the perfect location. I love the patrol style cooking and how much they do for campers. They have merit badges in the morning and fun open activities in the afternoon which a great break from the merit badge factories you see elsewhere. I highly recommend taking your troop on a Trek! Click to report rating    11/1/06   5     5     5     5     5   Sabattis Adventure Camp is an outstanding scout camp. Their program is first rate and the staff are of the highest quality I've ever seen in a scout camp. The have Kevlar canoes for their trekking program, unheard of in a scout camp. This past summer they just added an awesome COPE course. A premier patrol cooking camp. Check it out for yourself!-GR RID: 4511
Click to report rating    9/9/06   5     5     5     5     5   Sabattis Adventure Camp is the premiere scout camp of the Adirondack Park. The staff is the greatest group of scouts I have ever seen, the program is superb, and their equipment is top of the line. Sabattis is the ultimate high-adventure scouting destination for troops throughout the northeast. I highly recommend checking out their website - but to get the full experience, you'll have to visit the camp your self. It's the best-kept secret of the 'Dacks. YIS, MK RID: 3004
