Click to report rating    7/20/17   5     5     5     5     5   My 3 children spent the last 2 weeks here and I can't say a single bad thing. They have every activity you could want including skateboarding, pottery and a recording studio. Food is great. When you arrive in the morning all the councillors greet your car at the kids and ride and even open car doors to help children out. Everyone is always smiling and dancing around. My kids had a blast and we look forward to next year RID: 51062
Click to report rating    7/27/13   1     1     1     1     1   They treat they're staff awfully. The staff don't take care of their children the way they should. I highly do not reccomend this place. RID: 45390

Click to report rating    3/30/13   5     4     1     2     3   VERY BAD CAMP!!!! Last year (2011) the camp was SOOOO fun! But, this year (2012) was horrible with the new owners. Now, we have no CYOA,COW, or any sort of fun activities except for the recording studio. Don't pay that much money for this! P.S The food is bad, too RID: 44140
Click to report rating    3/21/13   5     4     5     5     4   As someone who has worked at several camps in the past 10 years I can say that this camp is GREAT! Located on a beautifully wooded lot, great activities, excellent lunch program, and a nice, tight community of campers! I've been working there for two years and both of my daughters attend the camp, they love it! And best of all, no more 1 hr. bus rides to camp! This place is around the corner! RID: 44035
Click to report rating    3/19/13   5     4     4     5     5   I only have great things to say about this camp! It provided me with experience that could be used in multiple facets of my life. As well, the facility provides one with the feeling of being far away from city-life, yet being conveniently located off of Leslie. Working on staff as a lifeguard and swim instructor, I got to experience first-hand the dedication and commitment of the leadership team. I would highly recommend Adventure Valley Day Camp to anyone! Click to report rating    3/1/13   4     4     4     5     4   The summer of 2012 was my youngest daughter's first camp experience. From the first day, she got on the bus and felt comfortable and secure leaving home and going to camp. Originally she was only registered for 1 month, but we ended up extending her 2 weeks. She loved camp, she loved being a big girl, and she loved her counselors. Thank you AV for such a great first experience. We are looking forward to summer 2013! RID: 43850
Click to report rating    3/1/13   5     4     5     5     4   I can't say enough wonderful things about this camp. As a fellow Camp Director I can recognize great passion and organization by their leadership team. These two qualities trickle down into every aspect of their camp. One of my children has a severe allergy and I was very confident that his needs were being met and he was safe at AV. When I asked my kids why they liked it so much, they said two things: The counselors were amazing, and they did not feel rushed all the time. The site is beautiful and the ability for the site to offer both outdoor and in extreme heat an indoor air conditioned break was amazing. I highly recommend AV. I know when we were deciding about camp, my three kids made it very clear that they wanted to make sure that I signed them up again for 2013 at AV. RID: 43849
Click to report rating    1/14/13   4     4     5     3     2   My son went there in Aug 2012 and he really loved it! Last day of camp he said he didn't want to come hom e so much fun he had. He had swimming every day, and tons of different activities. Yes, it is pricey but you get what you pay for. By comparison, he hated his soccer camp (another camp) where they played soccer all day long... Already booked for this year for him and his sister. RID: 43393
Click to report rating    8/29/12   1     3     4     1     1   This was our second year.Last year my son LOVED camp. This year with the new ownership, we were very unhappy. It started with them informing us 3 days before camp that owners were bringing in their two big dogs daily even though my son has bad dog allergies-they offered us our money back instead of offering not to bring dogs. Then my son was sick at camp complaining of belly ache and nurse gave him jellybeans and told my husband he was stressed. We kept him home for a day to make sure he was ok, I told him to call if felt sick. By the weekend he had terrible stomach flu and I told him I was surprised he made it through the week since he was so sick.He said that he asked the councillors everyday to go home because his belly hurt and they said no! I understand that some kids just don't want to be at camp and complain but they should contact the parents to let us make the call. My son suffered terrible anxiety after and was not able to return. We were refunded 1/2 a week of the 2.5 missed. RID: 42540
Click to report rating    7/6/12   4     4     2     3     4   AV is a good camp but, this year, my child comes home crying and this year they have no CYOA or COW. I would recommend this camp if it was last year.My child had a better experience last year. RID: 41582
Click to report rating    12/20/11   5     4     3     5     3   I do this rating based on last year's owners not the new owners as I do not know them. This place has great staff and a wonderful facility. I hope the new people keep it somewhat similar, getting rid of the head fun guy matt was a mistake but I hear there will be lots of new programs. I hope they do well. RID: 37538

Click to report rating    9/23/10   4     5     4     4     3   My kids have enjoyed going to this camp for two years and the facilities are nice in a beautiful location. I do think it is overpriced and there is room for improvement in staff friendliness and attentiveness as well as the types and quality of activities. RID: 34136
Click to report rating    8/23/10   5     5     4     5     5   amazing staff!!!! very spirited ans friendly!!! very impressed with the camp. counsellors in the senior boy section r amazing!!! RID: 33853
Click to report rating    8/23/10   1     4     4     3     1   It was shocking to find that the counsellors and bus staff do not say hello to parents properly. The young children are treated like teenagers and to my dismay I found that my daughter came home with different coloured nail polish on a regular basis. There are great activities and facilities but the staff need to grow up and considering the price, it would be nice if they taught the children some basic manners. RID: 33842

Click to report rating    6/15/09   5     5     5     5     5   My kids had the best summer of thier lives at Adventure Valley. The facility is fantastic and the staff are the best I've seen. My kids are 12 and 10 and have been doing the camp thing for a while and this was by far their best summer RID: 30052
Click to report rating    1/7/09   5     5     5     5     5   My two daughters went to this camp for the first time last summer and loved it! I've never seen a group of staff more spirited (and we've been to many camps). No problem waking them up in the morning to catch the camp bus! RID: 28471
Click to report rating    1/2/09   2     3     3     2     2   the staff wasn't that good, my daughter had a medical condiditon and explained that to the swimming conselor and they called US and told us that our daughter was uncooperitive!!! than my daughter and her friend didn't want to play some game, so they asked if they could bead and they said "NO! we are using them you arent supposed to be here!" mean staff and very overpriced, my daughter's overnight camp was as much as this camp!!! Click to report rating    5/11/08   2     2     1     1     1   Young staff, very poor programming (went to a birthday party here during the winter and it was just as bad as the summer). Facility looks nice - but the pool is shallow so you cannot get proper lessons. Lynda is scattered and didn't attend to the problems that arised. My child cried every day (which he never did at Green Acres) but I paid SOOOOOO much money, I wasn't about to throw it away. Of course, the camp would not refund! Bad business move....I have spread the word RID: 23091
Click to report rating    1/30/08   5     5     5     5     5   My three boys went to the tennis camp in August 2007 (ages 8, 10 and 12 years). No complaints from them, which was a FIRST (except the pool is not a diving pool)! The bus staff was even terrific and super friendly. We'll be back! RID: 19628
Click to report rating    12/2/07   3     5     1     2     2   My child went here for four weeks with their friend. One word sums it up - overpriced...facility is great but programming was weak this summer. They are in need of good themed programs like all the big camps offer - such as Green Acres, Bayview Glen, Richmond Hill Country Club, and Robin Hood. She went here because of friends...and won't return next summer. Good facility - just needs more programming. RID: 17628
Click to report rating    8/8/07   5     5     5     5     4   Definitely on the high end side but you get EXACTLY what you pay for... Very high energy, fun staff with excellent customer service...well worth every penny. I've extended my kids twice! They really impressed in their first summer! RID: 13751
Click to report rating    7/31/07   4     3     2     2     1   My child attended the fist period of camp. They ran out of food the first week and a half. That did improve as time went on. However, the camp is unorganized and the programming is very low level. RID: 13470
Click to report rating    5/7/07   5     5     5     5     5   went to the open house - amazed at the staff - knowedge and enthusiasm - facilities and location wonderful - feel very confident the new operators know exactly what they are doing - have signed up my kids. RID: 10613
Click to report rating    4/18/07   5     5     5     5     4   my family attended the grand opening last weekend and had the best time. i was amazed at all the renovations that have taken place since i first checked it out in december.the diner is spectacular and so child friendly.the whole place has a clean, new and fresh look all painted up in bright friendly and fun colours.the kitchen has the most amazing equipment.there is tons of outdoor space for sports and other summer fun.a bit pricey but not out of line with the other major players.and this camp comes with experienced and knowledgable directorship.they do have some programs in place to save a few bucks like a referral program and no busine.also, they have extended hours which is really helpful to us working stiffs.i have been nervous about signing my kids up for the first season but after last weekend's festivities i am so impressed that i will be signing them up right away.i came away feeling a warm and family type atmosphere and recommend that everyone give them a chance to shine. RID: 9820
Click to report rating    12/14/06   5     5     5     5     5   I went there when it was the JCC and my kids attended preschool years there as well. I've gone for a recent tour and am extremely impressed with the plans and designs for the renovation. It already looks fabulous. The new owners are sooo friendly, warm and inviting and seem to have tons of knowledge and experience in recreation. I can't wait to see the finished product. I wish the owners the best of luck and look forward to family summer weekends by the pool and tennis courts. It is a perfect and gorgeous location for a summer day camp since it is in the city but doesn't feel like it is and I hope that my kids can work there this summer. RID: 5964
Click to report rating    11/27/06   5     5     5     5     5   I can't even begin to say how impressed I am with this camp! And there's still 7 months until it begins. RID: 5385
