4/10/14   5     5     5     5     5   My son has food allergies to peanuts and Timber-lee was very accommodating in getting me the menu and making me feel like he would be safe at camp. The staff is wonderful and the activities are amazing! I would recommend Timber-lee for any child that wants a wonderful camp experience!! RID: 47174

4/2/14   5     5     5     5     5   Came to Timber-lee for Father/Son retreat and was blown away by how much fun I had. Timber-lee staff are friendly and attentive. Facilities are well-maintained and comfortable, compared to other camps we've visited. I'm all about value, so I was pleased with how many different ways we could have fun for the price we paid. I was a little afraid to try the zip line, but my son talked me into it, and I didn't regret it. They packed so many great activities into each day that both my son and I fell asleep as soon as our heads hit our pillows. I haven't had this much fun since I was a kid! RID: 47121

4/2/14   5     4     5     5     5   Went for mother/daughter retreat. We did the new zipline and rock climbing. It was awesome scary to stand on the edge! Stayed in the lodge with a fireplace and that was so much fun and there was so much good food! I LOVE their curly fries and chocolate chip cookies!! And all the LCMs rock! RID: 47120

Click to report rating    5/24/13   3     3     5     5     5   Staff was mostly great, but not at meals. (Some seemed like they hated their job) Otherwise, everyone was very nice and friendly. We went with a school trip, and the children were treated with respect. Activities for kids were very fun. The water did have a terrible metallic taste. I suggest using bottled water to rinse after brushing your teeth. RID: 44567

Click to report rating    1/23/13   4     4     5     5     5   This camp is absolutely amazing. My daughter went for 4 years, including after we moved out of Illinois she flew back to go because she loved it so much. She will not be attending again this year, but we reccomend this camp to almost anyone. We've had a few interesting counselor a but other than that it's been great. Awesome food, staff, facilities, activities . Everything. Go! (: RID: 43477

Click to report rating    6/7/09   5     5     4     4     5   Camp Timberlee was amazing. We went there as a school trip and it was a blast, everyone enjoyed it. The staff are kind, knowledgable and patient, and they did a pretty good job of paying attention to individual campers. I think that the water was fine, and the cabin and bathrooms were pretty good for a camp. All but one of the activities we did were very fun (the animal encounter was one of my favorites). It was totally worth it, I will always remember it! RID: 29993

3/1/09   5     4     5     5     5   I personally went to this camp, lol I'm probably not like old enough to rate it, but it was still amazing. The only downside was probably the bathrooms, the water tastes GROSS when you're brushing your teeth because there is iron in it (not a lot), but still, you get over it. Timber-lee made me feel like a brand new person, the activites are beyond cool, and it was probably one of the best experiences of my life. I never want to forget it. The counselors really care about you, and have a high tolerance for kids *winks*, they don't get annoyed easily. It's a Christian camp so you are expected to learn about Jesus, but they do it in a fun way. It's got a huge lake, though for some reason they cut off some of the parts where you can swim (saftey reasons i'm sure), but you can kayak around the lake and go anywhere you please *you have to wear a life jacket* at first I was really scared and thought I would have no one, but I made friends fast. It was a great experience for me. ;] RID: 29143

Click to report rating    3/5/08   4     5     3     5     5   Fantastic camp, the activates are rated the lowest not because they were bad. I rated the activates lower because the best part of the camp was getting to know the people there. The Christian element was clear but even without the activates you would know the camps message by the friendly manner in which people there interacted. RID: 20938
Click to report rating    2/12/08   5     5     5     5     5   this camp was the best thing I've ever been to. i loved all the activities but even better was the christian part of it. i was never really that religious untill i went there with my friend. i cant even begin to put in words how much i love that camp. im goin this summer :] RID: 20200
Click to report rating    1/26/08   5     5     5     5     5   One of my favorite places EVER! It is AMAZING! The main reason I love it so much is that it encourages so much spiritual growth in you! With super-sweet, super-cool worship, chapel, and devos every day you get so close to God! When you're there, everything just feels...what's a good word..."right." Here's some other info: Food: Really good, as far as camp food goes. Facilities: Some cabins are seriously like hotels! The lower end ones are more "rustic" but definitely still endurable. Activities: Love 'em! Sooo much to do! You're never bored! Counselors: AWESOME. They are loving, caring, inspiring, and just plain fun to be with! Other: I would recommend bringing a friend. That way, when you're there, you'll have double the fun :) and when you get back home, you can continue encouraging each other in your spiritual growth. I strongly recommend Timber-Lee for every single kid and teen in the world! RID: 19439

Click to report rating    8/29/07   5     5     5     5     5   This is the best camp ever, hands down! Everyone is so, so nice and the activities are amazing! But the best part is the spiritual focus! Worship and chapel are incredible! You feel so much closer to God by the end of the week! I just can't say enough good things about Timber-Lee! :) RID: 14651
Click to report rating    6/11/07   5     5     5     5     5   i have been there 6 times already and i'm 13. This summer I am going 3 times making it 9 times! It has changed my life forever! They showed me what God is and how amazing He is. The staff are so nice and I have so much fun with them! Yes there bathrooms are a little gross, but that is what camp is all about right? There is so much stuff to do so you NEVER are bored. As for the personal attention, I brought my best friend who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair and it was just as easy getting around and having people that could help out so it was like we were at home. I LOVE TIMBER-LEE!!! AHHH!!! RID: 11890
Click to report rating    6/1/07   5     5     5     5     5   this camp was amazing!!Everyone was so friendly, i had many life changing experiences each time i went. And in regards to the facilities, you have to understand their location, and it's fine for the amount of time your there.. RID: 11349
Click to report rating    4/19/07   4     5     5     4     4   WINTER CAMP-- the pastor was amazing, he really knew how to connect with the kids, as was the band. a variety of activities, always something to do, and a lot of freedom...maybe a little too much! a great experience. RID: 9854
Click to report rating    4/13/07   5     5     5     2     3   I had so much fun at Timber-lee. I had the best counselars and the best band. The food was really good too. RID: 9673
Click to report rating    11/6/06   5     5     5     5     5   I have to whole-heartedly disagree with the first reviewer. Camp Timber-lee is a wonderful facility! Having worked at other camps, I can honestly say that this camp excels at not only caring for the campers' physical and emotional well-being, but their spiritual well-being as well. My daughter loved going to camp at Camp Timber-lee and the "cabin" that she stayed in was nicer than my old college dorm room - complete with a shower and bath right in the room! More importantly, my daughter came away from camp with great friends and a deeper relationship with God. You can't put a price on that. As far as any mice or spider webs, consider that the wilderness setting of camp is more condusive to critter sightings - especially when you bring food into the cabins. Speaking from my camp counseling experience, this happens alot, no matter what camp you are at :) We look forward to sending our daughter back for another fun summer at Camp Timber-lee! RID: 4647
Click to report rating    10/18/06   1     1     2     1     1   This camp was disgusting and the food was horrible. We found mouse**** in the couch. The showers were stained and had spiders in them. I couldnt wait to go home. RID: 4106
