In 2011 The music played at the camp was excessively loud. We measured the dB and it was above 100 at times! We voiced our complaint several days in a row. The staff failed to pass our messages along to the people who controlled the volume, or they chose not to turn down the volume. Our 6 year old could not advocate for herself and the youngest were put closest to the speakers. The camp helpers could not hear the children, for example my 6 year old was merely HIGH 5'ed when explaining she could not find her lunch. Her brother found her crying and helped her. The levels are truly ear damaging to children. We complained to Health and Safety who gave our last name to the young staff (identifying our children as complaining). We took our youngest 2 out of the camp, but our oldest remained in. I have heard from kids attending the camp this year 2013, the music is even louder. We would never send our children again. Young children do not need music that loud, it's damaging.

The first year I went to this camp I thought it was pretty fun.. I went with a group of friends and we did all of our courses together. the next year i was forced to go again and none of my friends came with me. I had a horrible experience with the trails as I have excercise enduced asthma and the staff still does run behind you and doesnt let you stop. I needed my puffer which they were supposed to carry with THEM at all times, but usually forgot. In the end i needed an ambulance and I am NEVER going back there EVER!

Terrific camp for six-nine year-old in particular. It introduces children to various team and individual physical activities. It encourages kids to work together, challenge themselves and above have fun. The trail run still exists but the "boot camp" issue has been addressed. The focus is to encourage the kids to try not humiliate them. Best bang for the buck.

First off. Those of you who think the camp is a boot camp that is probably cause u are lazy or in active. Second off, dont be such a drama queen, we have to run a trail, not across hamilton and if ur not good then just do blue or red thats like one lap in 1o minutes. The camp was cool and u got to choose what you got.

My parents forced me to go to this camp for 2 years!! It was like being in boot camp! It looks good on paper, but we were FORCED to run through the trails of western Hamilton everyday in 34+ degree humidity! If children stopped running to catch their breath, counsellors threatened to punish them by removing their swimming priviledges. Worse, "fitness testing" was done while I attended this camp. The "most fit" children were announced to all the children in attendance, and the majority of the children, regardless of how healthy and physically active they were, were left feeling inadequate.
