Camp Marcella is a truly wonderful place where blind people are able to get together and enjoy two weeks building friendships that can last forever. It's a place where, for once in our lives, our poor vision is not an issue. Even though it's hard to leave, we all know that next year will bring just as many amazing memories.

If it wasn't for this past summer this camp would get near perfect ratings. The staff are great. They work very hard. "Most" of the staff are dedicated to this camp. The facilities are quite good. The recent renovations make the camp experience a lot more enjoyable. In the past, the activities were exceptional. However, ever since the summer of 2003, the quality of activities has declined. This has been noticed by many. The staff usually pays great attention to the campers. Staff and campers usually have a great deal of respect for each other. This summer camp is amazing. Many people have a lifelong emotional attatchment to this place. Hopefully the camp will return to what it once was; a magical place where lifelong memories are born.

Over all, Camp Marcella is a home away from home for blind/visually impaired children (ages 5-16). Every year I look forward to walking through those gates once more and seeing my friends. Camp Marcella helps kids meet other blind kids in New Jersey and develop friendships that may last for a lifetime. I have met good friends through Marcella that I will never forget. I have been going here for 10 years and I can't get enough of it. The staff and campers get along well. I love my Marcella family with a passion!

With the exception of this past year, Camp Marcella is the most amazing summer camp EVERR! It is spacificly open to blind/visually impaired children ages 5-16, and it's like its own world, where people--staff and campers--are drawn together by a magical feeling of family. At Marcella, everyone fits in somewhere, and everyone finds close friends and carries home beautiful memories that will last them a lifetime. Everyone who attends an entire two-week session leaves in some way a different, and better person. It's almost impossible to describe the special atmosphere that hovers over the camp, but something about it gives you the notion that you and thos around you are separate from the normal chaos of life outside its gates.
