Home is Camp Agawak. In 2014, my parents dropped me off at the bus stop for my first summer at camp. I don’t remember much about my first summer, but I do know that I had no idea what camp was going to be like. Little did I know, getting on that bus was one of the best decisions of my life. That first summer at camp is a little foggy in my mind, but the thing that stood out to me the most was that everyone was always smiling, everyone cared about each other, and everyone loved camp. I instantly knew camp was for me. Flash forward 7 years, and I am still astonished about the sense of community at camp. Being at camp is nothing like I experienced before. There is no other place on this earth where I feel as happy, as passionate or as loved as camp. 7 years ago, I signed up for camp expecting to have an activity to do for a few weeks. I ended up gaining much much more. Some people say camp is their second home, but to me it is my first. Home is Camp Agawak.

We just wanted to thank Mary and the entire Camp Agawak team for once again enabling our daughter to experience the most amazing camp ever. She, in her second year is an Agawak veteran and is just glowing over making new friends and all that she experienced this past summer. It is hard to fully comprehend the passion and commitment that Mary and her entire staff have toward the Camp Agawak experience, but once you have a child attend and see the sparkle in their eyes and the sense of community, friendship and leadership that blossoms as a result, you’ll know that you’ve made the right choice.
Camp Agawak is an incredibly special place and we are honored to have our daughter be an “Agawak Girl”! Thank you for all that you and know that your legacy will live on forever in the eyes, hearts and souls of thousands of Agawak girls, parents and staff everywhere.

Agawak is hands down the best summer camp that I could send my daughter to. From the endless activity options, to excellent staff, programing and incredible camp grounds, Agawak is truly a home away from home. The camp continuously is improving, through new buildings being added, programs implemented, and new training for staff. This camp is hands down the best there is. The director and owner cares so deeply about this camp and every single camper in it. She goes above and beyond to ensure that each camper is healthy, happy and having a great time. Agawak is a great place and I would reccommend it to any girl!

It’s hard to explain how much I love going to camp. It’s a place I can go and not be judged, and I can have an amazing time just being myself, while being around my favorite people in the world.

I went to Agawak for the first time last summer. I had a blast, and I wish I could have gone so many years earlier. Camp Agawak was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Camp teaches you things that nothing else can. I love Camp Agawak; from Ducky’s good desserts, the BEST activities ever, to Blue and White color wars. Last of all, I cherish my seven new sisters from cabin 10, who helped me through my first summer and I still talk to daily. I will continue to go as long as I can.

Camp Agawak is such a special place! We feel so lucky to send our daughters here for the last 5 years (and many more years to come!). Mary cares so much about each and every girl at this camp. It shows from how happy all the girls are. All the counselors have been patient, caring, compassionate, supportive and fun. They have been incredible role models. Mary and her staff have helped my girls gain confidence, strength and independence. There is nothing more precious than the gift of camp and Agawak has provided that for our daughters. The friends they have made are beyond special. The memories and experiences they share together will last a lifetime. Their friends are like sisters to them. It is truly a unique relationship. We feel so lucky to watch our girls grow from the amazing experiences at Agawak and to see what a huge special part of their lives it is. There is nothing like it. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Camp Agawak! It is truly a very special place!

Having been a camper and counselor for 7 summers each, there is not a more nurturing and warm place that I would have wanted to spend my summers. The warmth you feel from the minute you walk off the bus, is indescribable. As a camper, I was encouraged to step out of my comfort zone to try new things in a healthy and safe environment. Having had counselors from Mexico, Australia and New Zealand (to name a few), opened my eyes to a new cultural and diverse experience that I am forever grateful for. Everyone always told me that "camp friends are the best friends" and I never knew what that feeling was like until going to Agawak. There is no other place in the world that I would want to call my second home. I am truly a better and more enriched person for having spent so many wonderful years at Agawak.

I have sent both of my girls to Agawak and CAN NOT say enough positive things about this camp! Not only was this the BEST experience, but life long friendships were made! Agawak is the most magnificent setting on gorgeous Blue Lake, but the activities were FANTASTIC! We felt so secure in handing our girls over to Mary Fried and her staff! Our girls begged to go full session! Every girl should have the experience that Agagwak has to offer!

Agawak is a remarkable place to spend your summer. I was an Agawak girl over 30 years ago and loved my time spent on Blue Lake. When my daughters were looking at overnight camps they visited every camp in the Northwoods and picked Agawak hands down. Agawak has the most beautiful grounds with Blue Lake, grassy fields and tall pine trees. Daily activities offer something for every girl of every age - water skiing, paddle boarding, tennis, gymnastics and arts & crafts. Every girl will thrive! Agawak is full of energy and traditions like Blue/White competition. Girls of every age come together and cheer on their team all summer long. Agawak does a great job communicating with parents. They post daily blogs and pictures so you feel like you're part of all the fun. Agawak is by far the best girls camp in the Northwoods. I made life long friends at Agawak and I know my girls will too.

I have been a camper at Agawak for 6 years and it is the most amazing place! When I first came to camp, I was nervous because I didn't know anyone. Right away, my counselors were fantastic and made me feel comfortable. We did many activities as a cabin group and I made new friends that will last me a lifetime! I have had different counselors over the years and each year they have been awesome. Some have been from other countries, while others have been campers that became counselors. Mary has been an amazing camp director. She truly cares about each and every camper and you can really tell. She goes to different activities and even joins in to play with the campers. Anytime I feel homesick, she is always there ready and willing to help. She makes Agawak feel like my second home. I love Agawak so much and hope that everyone has a chance to experience such a fabulous camp. I spend the entire year counting down the days until I get to return to my camp family!

this is my 9th summer at this horrible camp agawak. this is the worst camp because nobody cares for anyone here and nobody cares for the camp. everyone here is the worst and i wish i never went but my parents made me go and i just went to see my best camp friend . do not go here

it is my 3rd year and every year u have camp home with new friends and a postivite experience. It is like my home away from home that i countdown the days until i get there. The staff and countsleers make everyone feel welcome . if you are homesick they make you feel better and they cater to your every need. My summer sisters and i are true campers and every year we can not wait for camp to begin. THE CAMPERS ARE NOTHING BUT NICE. You may encounter 1 or 2 mean people but most of all everyone is so sweet and welcoming!! Pack your bags. you should really WANNA LIVE THE DREAM IN 2013

Agawak is a fun camp! It really is a second home! I think its best if you go to Agawak not knowing anyone. I came to Agawak not knowing a single person, and I made millions of friends. Blue and white is super fun! There is also final four and olympics. AN AMAZING PLACE!!!

If you grew up going to Agawak, you'll probably like it. If not, you'll think it's a bunch of snotty Jewish north shore kids who complain constantly about their fake problems. It's not ACA accredited and it's pretty clear why. Camp director plays hardcore favorites and let's everyone that ever paid 8000 dollars for a summer at her "heavenly" camp to be a counselor-- not the best hiring strategy. The staff goofs off and does not know how to talk to children (especially the international staff), they generally do a pretty bad job. They want to hang out with their friends, not be counselors. And EVERYONE knows each other from school already! What is the point of coming to camp if you see each other all year round anyway? Also the food is disgusting. You'd think they'd be able to shell out some more money for decent food given what everyone is paying to come there. Basically-- not for you if you're a sane, down to earth person.

by far the best camp i have ever been too. i'm not just saying that because it is my camp but i dont go there anymore and i wish i still did. i went for eleven years and within those years i made some of the best friends i will ever have. i still communicate with them everyday for hours, i have grown so much from camp. they make every camper feel welcomed and at home. Those eleven summers that i spent at camp agawak were and still are the best summers of my life. All of my favorite memories are from camp. I plan on sending all of my children to Agawak. It is the most beautiful place on earth and i would not trade my Agawak experience for anything in the world because Agawak will always be my home away from home.

My camp is AMAZING. You can do anything from waterskiing, to trampball, to tennis, to arts and crafts. I reccomend you look at the website and look at the different activities. It is going to be my 5th summer going for 4 weeks. Camp Agawak is my second home
