I was one of the first campers during its opening year almost 30 years ago. I attended the camp for 6 years before becoming a counselor. This camp exposes children to truly back-country camping experiences in areas few have the opportunity to visit. The facilities are rustic and it is very much a back to nature type experience. I highly recommend it for those children that are strong willed, like a challenge and are interested in the environment.

I spent two summers at Manice after going on a few fall trips with my school. This was about twenty years ago. It was the one of the best experiences I have ever had. Still to this day it holds a special place in my heart. The staff were great. I feel it helped me to become a stronger person that summer. I learned some of life lessons at MEC that help me still till this day. Thank you!

Manice is the BEST camp I've ever went to! I went there for a school trip in 6th grade, over the summer when I was going into 8th grade, and I'm applying AGAIN this summer. They have the BEST food ever and it's really healthy. Over the summer, you go canoeing, hiking, swimming in the pond, and you can garden and even see animals in the forest! It's one of the best experiences I've ever had. Everyone MUST experience Manice at least once in their life! I might even want to be a counselor there one day! :D Manice RULES! ? -Nadia A.

I think this camp ROCKED cause it was fun and the staff were fun and funny like JOSh for example when we went to see the 4 states i asked josh how much does he get paid and he said "ENOUGH GO!!!" that was so much fun and then they came to my school the the young womans leadership school of astoria and when my friends saw Josh they became jumping and saying hes so HOt.. so i would like to go over the summer again.!!!

You know I've been going to MEC for 4 years now. It used to be great, but now it's really great. The new camp director rocks and the staff are so easy to connect with. I hope everyone gets a chance to go to MEC!!!

This Camp Rocked! i went in thinking it wuz going to suck and i really wasn't looking forward to it, but as soon as i got there it was like heaven. I made LOADS of new friends, even though i didn't know ANYBODY. Keven was soo cool n all my group mates were just awesome! the only thing i didnt like was the hiking trip 'cause i just don't like to walk in general but other than that it was just the best. i'd recommend this camp 2 everyone, in fact i'm going back next year and i'm bringing a friend. MEC 2007 rokd sox! =]

I had an awesome experience at Manice. I loved it even though I couldn't shower. I was getting so settled and then I had to go back to my real life. Ugh. I learned so much and the staff was so funny and friendly. My taste buds weren't adjusted to the healthy food but after 3 meals I kind of liked the food. I was cold and wet most of the time but I still loved being there. I got to better know people from my school and it was like being part of a family. I truly appreciate the experience. Dave,Ms.Roach,Bell,Ms.Wolfe,Lizzie,and Casper were so cool. I don't know one dude's name but he wore slippers and shorts once. Lol. Casper was so funny and cool. Okay anyway yea I loved it so much that when I got on the bus to leave I couldn't say bye and started sobbing. That's how great the experience was. I totally recommend it to everyone.

It was real fun.I had a great time there but i just didn't like one of the staff and that was carla.I was gonna come back for the summer but she was gonna be there and i did not feel like hearing her voice,but i went with my school.The only people that i like there was Meggie,kevin,sohpia,patrick,and ting or wat ever his name that start with a T.The only thing i didnt like was the flys and the cleaning up and having to walk up that hill and the eggs.P.S I think all of yall for making me having the time of my life and I will becoming back next yaer with the school, I like yall to much and i hope to see yall next year.
