Click to report rating    2/26/16   5     5     4     5     5   I attended Ryerson every year for 10 years, sometimes for two weeks in a summer. I absolutely adore the atmosphere at Ryerson created by attentive staff, exciting activities, and a beautiful site. As a United Church camp, they help kids to connect with God in a way they can understand and get excited about. With different lengths of sty and programs available depending on age and what campers are looking for, kids have plenty of options to choose from (including music and drama, canoe trip, bike and tent, wilderness camp, or any fun mainsite camp). I would recommend Ryerson to anyone looking to give their kids an enjoyable summer experience, whether they are just beginning to form a relationship with the Lord or are looking for new and exciting ways to connect and build their faith. Click to report rating    8/9/13   1     1     3     1     3   They kept my child here with strep throat for 2.5 days without seeking medical attention. They brought her home burning up when her week was done and she immediately had to go on antibiotics. At no point did they seek medical attention for her even though I had signed medical release forms, nor did they call me to inform me of her condition. They gave her Tylenol once. They forced her to participate in activities even though she said she was ill and wanted to lay down. My child informed them she sometimes got strep throat and that is what she believed was wrong. She came crawling off the bus and fell into my arms crying and she is normally a very happy go lucky child. What kind of people who believe in God choose to torture a child? I have at no point received an apology or explanation as to this treatment. Don't send your child here unless you hate your kid and want to punish them. To top it off my child received one cold shower the entire week while counselors had a hot one everyday. RID: 45588

Click to report rating    3/5/08   5     5     5     5     5   I switched to work here from another camp and found the experience overwhelmingly wonderful! The staff unity and camp family that is fostered with the staff, campers, families and community are wonderful! As a United Church Camp the religious experience at Ryerson is moving and the focus on caring for others, the environment and yourself is really special. I will always remember Ryerson and will not hesitate to send my children there! RID: 20966
