My daughter sprained her ankle and I was not notified. They also went through her mail and only sent us one letter, even though she wrote everyday. They also did not let them shower for one week. This camp caused a lot of emotional trauma for my daughter. 100% would not recomend.

I have been going to this camp for the past nine years and have loved it every single time I have gone. The staff is kind and everyone is included in activities. The one complaint I have is that the number of children attending has gone down over the course of the nine years I have attended. It's sad to see that such a wonderful place has not gotten the recognition it deserves. I have consistently recommended this camp to my friends and anyone I know due to the great memories I have here and the ones I know I will continue to make.

I went last summer. I was in night owls. We did some fun games/activities like swimming and hiking and a dance party at night. But overall I would say it was not very good. I don't plan to go back. The groups all have two counselours and one of the ones for our group was mean. She yelled at my friend for crying cause she was homesick and had a stomach ache. They refuse to let anyone call home even if they are really homesick and sad. The swimming counselour (lifeguard) was annoyed because some girls couldn't go in the water because they had their periods. The food is okay but there are not always good vegetarian options. I would not recommend this camp!

Let's start with the pros: 1) There was an excellent selection of clubs and activities, like yoga or dancing. 2) The food was incredible, and there was something new every day. I especially liked the night when we made Chinese food. Now for the cons: 1) The nurse was terrible. She withheld one of my daily medications because she didn't think I needed it. 2) It took the counselors until the middle of our out-of-camp trip to fully realize the conflicts I was having with another girl. The girl actually threw a stick into my face, and a counselor just stood by until I started crying. 3) My mom sent about 10 emails through the BunkNotes service during my two-week session, and only two or three actually got to me. However, despite these issues, I'm going back for two sessions this summer, fully prepared to face and deal with these issues again.

Firstly, this camp is literally my second home. This will soon be my fourth year. It is an amazingly wonderful place to spend all or just some of your summer, definetly worth the drive or cost. Yes, there are occasionally mice. Once and awile there is a bad meal. Life goes on. There are so many more good things about this camp which totally outweigh the little flaws. Making new friends, the amazing staff, the laid back vibe, water front activities, hiking, arts, drama, international staff, don't even get me started! So all I can say to you people who didn't enjoy camp or knew someone who didn't, look at the rating of this camp. A 98. Talk about amazing. Either you were lying, or exagerating. Not cool. I recommend this camp to any girl any age. Great place. Period. <3

I have been attending CBB for ten years and plan to go back for my eleventh this upcomming summer. there are so many great parts of CBB. I do agree with some that there are many cons to CBB, but the pros outweigh the cons. Yes, the facilitys could use and upgrade, and the beds are the most uncomfortable things ever..but the experence you have is so much more importnant then that. Personally i think that 90% of the staff i have had were amazing people and exellent leaders. Everybody has a frustration point, and some staff do lose their temper ocasionally, but that is a given when you are with the ladies constantly. I have had the most amazing summers there, but ive also had some nt so great ones. I think that going away from home like this gives you a chance to find yourself, and figure out a lot of things. I like to say that we are sisters for the summer but friends forever.

I had a very bad experience at this camp. Some of the counselors were ignorant and acted like i was wasting their time when i was homesick. It was so bad that i left 2 days early. The food is not very good either.

I love Camp Bonnie Brae so much! It is my home away from home! I was a CA this past summer and I grew a lot over the summer. I would recommend this camp to anyone. It's the best camp I've ever been too. I can't wait to return as staff next summer. I LOVE LPL <3 Snickers.

i went to this camp and got very homesick and the counselers kind of acted like i was wasting their time, and the activities are not entertaining unless you do water-ski or sailing, it is fun when you are pretty young and go for two or three days, but once you pass 10yrs. it loses all charm quickly. Also food and facilities are desperatley lacking

I LOVE CBB! I've gone 3 years and will soon be going for my forth time. Once I almost got to see a bear. That was so cool! The only bad experience was some unfriendly yurt mates one summer. CCB is a great camp nature lovers and I plan on attending for several years to come.

This is the best camp I have ever been to and I plan on going again. I have recommended this camp to four families already and they all came with me and all had a blast. The staff was amazing and so caring! The bathrooms and showers are cleaner than my own at home! P.S. I never saw a mouse there never mind a rude staff member.

Camp is so amazing the staff inst just staff they are your friend and if you need it a shoulder to cry on. i have learnd alot about myself from camp. ui have 2 favorite places the observation tower after dark and the bridge in the wetlands. going threw the LP program i have been involved in 3 Lp weekend 3 late nights of crazyness and 3 initiation. i cant wate to be staff next year. i dont know why some people have been writing bad things abnout camp becuase i have had nothing but good. the only bad thing was when we lived in big house this year and cheer was going to the bathroom one night and saw the bat fly over her head, other than that all good.<3 LPL

This is now my 7th year attending CBB and to put it simply, its my absolute most favorite week out of my entire summer by far. The staff is AMAZING! there is no other place i would rather be in the summer! I cannot say enough about the councelors...after coming back for so many years you get to know them so well its unbelivable! The friendships and memories i've made here are an unforgetable part of my childhood. I hope to continue going to CBBfor many years to come and maybe even continue on and become a councelor myself. The only way you can ever have a bad time at camp is if you get really home sick. Other than that, i barely know of anyone who has hated or disliked this camp. If your thinking of maybe going to this camp, you absolutly should! Trust me, you'll be SOOOO happy you did. There has not been one year that i can remember that i have not cried at the closing campfire because i was sad to have to be leaving.I just came back from it yesterday and i miss it way to much already

I have been attending this camp for many years. This is a great camp for any girl to experience. There is something everyone will enjoy, from backpacking, to acting, to learning how to sail. It makes all girls feel important, and is a great way to make new friendships that will last a lifetime. The staff make every girl feel at home, and comfort those who feel homesickness (which doesn't last very long because of all the fun the girls are having). I cannot wait to go back again this year!

I attended this camp for 5 years. I have only amazing memories of campfires, polar bear swims, all camp games, dance parties, crazy counselors, singing songs all morning, afternoon, evening and night, and cooking our own creative meals on a campfire. In regards to the people who rated the camp on the basis of thier daughters having a bad time, camp is not for every child. Camp Bonnie Brae is a rustic environment. Yes there are mice. You are sleeping in the middle of the woods. As long as you don't have food in your tent you are fine. I remember walking back from the bathroom with my buddy late at night. Our flashlight died and we heard what sounded like a giant raccoon tromping through the leaves. We ran to our counselors who calmly took us back to try to find the source of the sound. We heard it again. She showed us that what we heard were a number of little frogs jumping around. Camp is what you make of it. Out of the 8 camps I have been to Bonnie Brae is by far the greatest

I love this camp! I admit I am biased since I worked there for 5 years, but it is absolutely beautiful with the woods and the pond. The facilites are beautiful and well maintained. There are numerous activities for girls to participate in while there. Activities range from the traditional - swimming, boating, arts & crafts, nature education (they have a beatiful nature center with wetlands education), archery, sports, and a really cool low ropes course to specialty programs including waterski, backpacking, drama, biking, etc. The best part is the "girl planning" where girls get to plan with their group what activites they would like to participate in while they are there. Within the guidelines of the program they signed up for, girls plan with their leader what activities they would like to do and how often and then go schedule themselves to do it. This gives the girls ownership of what they are doing which is especially important for the older campers. Go to Camp Bonnie Brae!

My daughter attended this camp and once i came to pick her up at the end of the week, she was sobbing crying! I was told by her and the firends that she went with that there were mice crawling around in their cabin and couldn't sleep the whole week because they feared that mice would crawl on them in there sleep. They also informed me that some of the staff were very rude once the parents left and would frequently swear to them. Also the girls wouldnt eat all week long because they told me the food was frozen and not thoughd...i would never send a little girl there! i was VERY disapointed.

I went to CBB for many years as a child and plan to go back as a counselor this coming summer. This place is a wonderful way to get girls out of their shells, more comfortable with themselves, and make great new friends that last a life time. Everything I've ever learned at camp has stayed with me and the memories are ones that I will never forget. Anyone who has the oppertunity to attend this camp should because of the growing experiences it has to offer. Not to mention the fact that it's great fun! Whether the program you pick last one week or the entire summer stay, I garuntee the girls will love every second of it and will come home more mature and for the better of what they learned. Team work, friendship, and indivdual growth are always goals of the staff at this camp and I believe they help the girls meet those goals with 100% effort and all the proper care needed to do so. Anyone who attends will have the experience of a life time that will live in their hearts forever.

Camp Bonnie Brae is amazing. I'm going back this summer to finally be a part of a staffing program (Staff 2010). I've been going for so long that in the summer it becomes a second home to me. The staff are amazing, as is its location and all the units surrounding it. There's always plenty to do and CBB offers many activities for girls of all ages, myself included. I wouldn't be going back a seventh time if I didn't think it was the most amazing camp ever. :]

This will be my 7th year at CBB this summer. I could not imagine life without it. I spend September through May just waiting until I can return to this amazing camp that I wish I could be at all 365 days of the year. I would recommend this camp to anyone, especially girls with a particlular interest in the outdoors. This camp has so many wonderful opportunies to offer, and I can't wait for camp to start again this summer!

I attended CBB all through the 50's and early 60's, making friends who have lasted a lifetime. We worked very hard at CBB cleaning latrines, gathering wood, maintaining our respective group camps like Tyro and Burnam Wood. It was fantastic and the best of the best. From what I read, it has only gotten better. I wish we could reconnect with some of our counselors and other campers from that time. I haven't found a website to do that yet. But my "best friend" in Massachusetts and I stay in touch, visited CBB last winter and loved every minute of it. Her husband played taps for us by the lake. Sniff, sniff. Once a CBB camper, always a CBB camper. It shapes your life.

As a staff member, I would not be coming back for a 7th summer if this were not, in my opinion, the best-run camp in Massachusetts. The American Camping Association will agree with me. We scored a 98 out of 100 on our accredidation last summer.

My daughter is preparing to spend her fifth year at Camp Bonnie Brae. She will be 11 years old in July. She has developed many new skills at each summer session she has attended. She has come home each time more enriched in Scouting skills and has matured with each two week session. She loves to share her new songs on the ride home from camp, and at almost every opportunity in the weeks following, each time we get in the car! (I think she knows I relive my GS camping days vicariously through her!) She is more critical of my singing abilities these days, though! Camp Bonnie Brae's facilities are constantly being refurbished and new tents/yurts/cabins/trails have greeted us each time we have brought her to camp. I would recommend this camp to any girl wanting to participate in overnight camp. Staff are fantastic, and most return year after year. That says a lot for the camp management. Karen Hickton
