Click to report rating    6/30/24   5     5     5     4     4   I went to Camp Tesomas for 3 years when I was a scout, and also worked as a CIT for a few years. The staff are so energetic while doing skits, but gentle and kind when talking to scouts. The different stations are quite spread out, but none are in disrepair; just think about how far each merit badges is from one another. They ofplenty of different activities and things to do after you complete you're merit badges. They have two waterfront, and large climbing area, and several other things that change from day to day. This camp can old a lot of people, so you will naturally get less attention. If you go on in the earlier weeks in June, the camp will be less busy and you will receive more attention. The camp isn't super expensive, unlike other scout camps. My parents paid about $350. It all depends how much a troop fundraises. In summary, Camp Tesomas is an excellent camp with staff that keep you entertained and happy. It's much better than any other scout camp I've attended. RID: 54030
Click to report rating    11/5/15   3     2     3     3     3   The Camp was well run and they did offer a lot of merit badges that are not often offered at summer camp (as some should not be) The camp was way too spread out. You will put on double the amount of miles here than any other camp I have been to. The dinning hall was too small and crowded and way too loud. Most of my scouts did not enjoy that at all. It is the least favorite camp my troop has been to. We will not be back RID: 49285

Click to report rating    1/4/12   5     5     5     5     5   The camp staff truley want you to succed and the facilities are slowly being updated. The camp is a great way to spend a week with friends in your troop. RID: 37635
Click to report rating    10/21/11   5     5     5     5     5   go tesomas High above Lake Crystal's Waters, In among the trees, Flows the banner of Tesomas, Waving in the breeze, Hail Tesomas, Hail Tesomas, With your Scouts so true, With the spirit of good Scouting, Hail, O Hail to you! had to put something in here RID: 37125
Click to report rating    5/13/09   2     3     3     3     3   AVERAGE. The staff is definitely below average. The facilities are almost below average. The personal attention and monetary value are both average. And the programming has nothing special. I really, really want to know how this place calls themselves the best camp in the nation. All it tells me is they haven't been visiting any other camps. Instead of being inclusive, one must go out and explore what other camps are doing, because other camps are definitely doing bigger and better things. Oh...and on a side note the fire hoop...is still happening elsewhere. OA ceremony well above average but still not the best. Another interesting thing...obviously this camp is more about looking good on paper than performing. Merit Badges like Personal fitness and computers were NEVER meant to be done at a summer camp and CANNOT be adequately achieved at a summer camp. It's a cop out to make them look like they're offering more than other camps, but in reality they offer sup par program RID: 29747
Click to report rating    11/29/08   3     3     2     4     3   Staff seemed somewhat energetic but weren't loud enough to control scouts well. Facilities were average but dining hall was exceptionally loud. Headaches occurred at every meal for me. Activities were more based for younger scouts, harder to enjoy when older. Camp did give some personal attention to troops at camp. but overall value of this camp would be just below average, it doesn't seem to really instill the value of "outdoors". RID: 27748
Click to report rating    10/21/08   5     5     5     5     5   I've been camping there for the past 5 years and I love it. I worked there last summer and LOVED IT. Everything is amazing can't wait to get back there RID: 27137
Click to report rating    8/9/08   5     3     4     5     4   No doubt a great camp. Staff is very energizing and attentive. Hard to pull off a good sailing program here. Dining Hall is way too loud to enjoy- a lot of yelling and chants that go on forever. RID: 25525
Click to report rating    11/21/07   5     5     5     5     5   not only is this camp the best in the nation, the staff is the best. it has left me with experiences that will last forever, this past summer i was allowed the chance to go to camp as a scout again and it was well worth it, the staff care about you and want to see you not only have an experinence but have a tesomas experience. everything from opening campfire to monday night event and the Big OA ceramony all the way through the week was spictacular. i give the staff credit they put together not only a great week but a great summer! Click to report rating    6/21/07   5     5     5     5     5   The camp is clean and the staff is very dedicated you can tell they had become a family because on the last day when they sing the Tesomas Hymn for the last time they all are very emotional. The whole dining hall erupts in a loud banter every meal and it is just great!!! RID: 12313
Click to report rating    10/19/06   4     3     5     4     3   Not very outdoorsey for a Scout Camp. Some of the staff and program just seems to cheesy for older Scouts. Great for new Scouts. Dining Hall noise will give sane people headaches. RID: 4117
Click to report rating    10/10/06   5     5     5     5     5   Best scout camp I have ever been too. The dedicated staff are never too busy to help a Scout. RID: 3885
