Very disappointed with our son's experience. The trip was advertised as having 3 counselors, but only 2 were on the trip, which we weren't told about. Extremely scant communication and photos while the kids were on the trip. I sent my son with prescription medication, which he wasn't given once while under their care, which was irresponsible in the extreme. Poor judgment and inadequate communication-- no chance I'd send my kid away with this organization again.

Our son went over with excitement when we picked him up, about the great mountain biking down steep and winding jumps and banks, backpacking, the canoe races, high and fast zip-lining and most of all the Cave exploring. The cave adventure really challenged him with the total darkness, underground rivers and as he said he was glad expert staff were there to guide and help them.
We are very happy with the program and look forward to next year already.

This camp is the best in the world. The staff is very supportive and well trained. They feel like your friends, but the campers still respect them. There are so many amazing things to do; everyday you push yourself to overcome your fears. I've gone for four years and want to become a leader there. It gave me so much more self confidence. I love WAEL!

This camp is amazing. My 1st year I was in the 11-12 1 week program,we stayed on a cush, fixed campsite on the camp property and had normal food while going out daily for activities. The older groups incorporate more intense activities.I have also participated in the Go With the Flow program it focuses on white water rafting, kayaking&sea kayaking. The leaders are amazing and really care about their campers. My 2nd year I had an amazing leader Aaron who talked me out of going home(the year before I had gone with a friend,I was a bit homesick)and to me seemed like the big brother I never had.I have made some of my best friends at this camp and they are people that normally I would never have known.I have met people from France,Austria & all over the US.As for monetary value,it is expensive becasue the equipment & facilities are expensive, but there are discounts. If you go to this camp, you won't regret it.It's my favorite place in the world & I plan to work there as a leader in the future.

I went on the all-girl trip 3 years ago and it was definitely a life changing experience. The trip leaders were great and very supportive, especially when we had inevitable emotional moments. The small groups make closeknit relationships very easy to come by as well. I learned a lot about myself during those 2 weeks.
