Click to report rating    11/4/23   3     4     3     2     1   It's just another sports camp. Granted it's a very expensive one with waiter service meals and the owners try to present it as a magical place. Lipstick on a pig. But it's just another sports camp. RID: 53913
Click to report rating    1/25/19   5     5     5     5     5   A great place on a great lake, family owned for so many years! RID: 52433

Click to report rating    6/7/13   5     5     5     5     5   Best run camp out there with attention to every detail. No other owner out there takes the time and effort to know every single camper and family. Brant Lake Camp is such a tradition centered camp and there's no place else like it. RID: 44687
9/4/12   5     5     3     3     4   Here's the thing about BLDC, everyone there is so nice. The classes are great and stuff, but people are ultra cliquey. The directors can be rude to the counsalors. And sometimes the counsalors complain about it. The boys have treated me like dirt. Plus, most of the girls' families that go there have a lot of money. the like to brag about it. Be prepared for that. But other than that, I've been going there for 3 years. It's a great camp, but be prepared for some issues RID: 42591
Click to report rating    8/1/12   1     4     5     1     4   My son has attended this camp for the past 3 summers and he likes it. The only problem is Rich Gersten and the camp's inability to communicate with me, the father of a camper. In his 3 summers, the camp has missed 4 out of 6 scheduled calls from my son to me! How appalling! During the summer of 2011, my son got pink eye but the camp never called to tell me...I discovered this when I visited my son on visiting day. Needless to say, I told Rich Gersten what I thought about this and he assured me it would never happen again. Problem is during the summer of 2012, my son broke his thumb and the camp never called me! What a**holes. They also didn't call me during the summer of 2012 when my son contacted stomach flu. You just can't make this stuff up. These are deal breaker and so disrespectful to a parent...you can't make this kind of stuff up so you be the judge if you want your son at a camp who treats a parent like this RID: 42187
Click to report rating    11/30/11   2     4     1     2     1   Unless you're an exceptinal and very focused athlete... If you're not from The Greater Metropolitan Area, Jewish, and very wealthy, then you'll almost definitely (though not necessarily) have a bad experience at Brant Lake Camp. RID: 37393

2/26/09   2     5     3     1     1   i went here and all the fancy facilities and activities were nice, but you never get the feeling of belonging. the camp is so big that you can only meet about half the people if you're lucky. At meals i didn't recognize many of the people i saw. the staff seemed distant, like they cared not for how i was doing, or if i was in a bad mood. i wasn't the best athlete, i wasn't even one of the better athletes which subjected me to ridicule by the more athletic kids. overall i wouldn't recommend this place as a summer camp unless all that you care about is eating 4 star meals, living in a bunk that could pass for a house, and getting put down for not being the best. RID: 29118
Click to report rating    10/17/08   5     5     4     5     5   BLDC IS AMAZING! i was first realli homesick but the people there were soo nice and everyone was comforting! Its a small camp so everyone gets too know eachother, and there are no groups, everyone becomes tight =] and the dancing here is great! Definitley recommend it! RID: 27085
Click to report rating    8/18/08   5     5     5     5     3   best camp ever...very pricey but the quality of sports, surroundings, friends and people that consistently get brought back to blc cannnot be matched. Green and Gray is really like no other competition i have ever experienced. Sure, some of the kids are not too respectful but its a small price you have to pay for having one of the greatest summers of your life. RID: 25825
Click to report rating    6/24/08   1     4     3     1     2   Okay...this camp seems like a nice camp, with the updated facilities and such, but quality does not come with price. I sent both my sons to Brant Lake and I would not send them back. Apparently the counselors were insupportive and unhelpful. I'm from westchester ny so im used to a "jappy" enviorment, but the campers there were fla out spoiled rotten...its sad what camps have come to these days... need to search harder next time...never again BLC, never again smd RID: 24189
Click to report rating    6/20/08   5     5     5     5     5   I go here. best camp for real and lots of people say that but its true. i was 7 and looked at the camp and held on to a tree for dear life so i could stay. i love it and GO GREEN RID: 24035

Click to report rating    5/3/08   5     5     5     5     5   THIS IS THE BEST CAMP EVER. I WISH I COULD GO HERE FOREVER. YOU SHOULD CHOOSE BRANT LAKE. GO BRANT LAKE!!!! YEA. RID: 22916
Click to report rating    2/21/08   4     5     5     5     5   Staff gets a four because they are a deversified, trained, and interesting group of people, however, sometimes their ****s, but that comes along with any relationship be it camper-camper, camper-counselor, or counselor-counselor. Facilities get a 5 because you can tell the invest alot of money into them in order to please the people there. The bunks are comfortable and authentic, the clubhouses have state-of-the-art electronic systems. Not to mention a new turf surface with lights, and a minor-league-grade baseball field. Activities gets a 5 because they mix up your choices and keep you entertained. Personal attention gets a 5 because the attend your personal needs (well, duh). Monetary value gets a 5 because it is slightly expensive but worth every penny. GO GRAY! C's of '09!! RID: 20538
Click to report rating    2/15/08   5     5     5     5     5   Brant Lake is the best place to spend a summer. This summer is going to be 12 for me and I don't anticipate stopping anytime soon. Speaking as a former camper and now counselor, I have been through it all up there. The facilities are great and the attention that we are able to give to each camper is unrivaled. As everyone else on this page has said, green and gray is one of the greatest events you will ever experience. 4 days of non stop healthy competition. Senior Cs 03! Roll roll green machine!!! RID: 20311
Click to report rating    1/3/08   5     5     5     5     5   This is the best camp ever. Facilities, staff, and activities are a most. This will be my 6 year of many more. Any camper who goes there will definitely want to go back. As you can see from other comments people have been going there for up wards of 15 - 20 years. Owners are the best. Green and Gray is the best color war you will ever participate in. Go Gray!! RID: 18580

Click to report rating    9/25/06   1     1     1     1     1   this camp needs to learn that a ripped up tank top does not count as a shirt. All this camp teaches them is to how they can go for 10 dollars/hr. and the boys connected are so rude all they do is use us for ass. RID: 3492
Click to report rating    5/30/06   5     5     5     5     5   The best camp in the world. Truly recommend it. Been going there forever and probably will always have ties to the camp. RID: 545
