My child loves this camp and is hppy, so I lethim go back. But this is NOT a well-run camp. There are too many kids, not enough staff, and ZERO communication (except for incessant requests for donations). There is no place where a parent can see a camp schedule. You never know about your kid or their activities. I called the office to schedule a time to take my son to a Dr.'s appointment. I drove 1.5 hours, but when I arrived he was at another camp for a sports competition. The kids are also not required to write, and we received ZERO letters. This camp goes VERY late (a week later than every other camp). My son couldn't see his sister at all before she left for college. This means they don't get to see each other for 5 months, and they are not the only ones. Many of the counselors leave early to go back to school, so they are understaffed. My son had a bunk counselor who is a school friend of his - just a year older. The Jewish life is lovely, nice kids, tired facilities.

This is one of the finest camps we have seen and we MADD the rounds of many camps. The spirit and education programs are unequalled. Happy campers and great staff. What more could we want??

My children have been going to Ramah NE for over six year. The facilities may not be the fanciest but the spirit, passion and sense of community is amazing. They seem to attract campers and counselors who are grounded and the camp encourages lids to be inclusive, non-competitive, and caring. If you want your children to love being Jewish - this is the camp!

My daughter had the worst experience at this camp. She came home after 4 weeks and had 120 bug bites on her arms and legs. Just that shows the NEGLETANCE of how the staff was ( and probably still is) to my child. When my daughter was homesick, the staff did not do anything to help her. Heck, they practically ignored her. Ever since this horrible, traumatic experience, my sweet little daughter is traumitized to go back to sleep away camp. My advice to you, from parent to parent, is not to send your child to this camp. My daughter was miserable there and I don't want your kid to go through the same experience my daughter went through.

Camp Ramah New England takes care of my kids and provides a wonderful jewish identity. The facility has improved greatly as has the program. My kids loved their counselors!

As someone who went to this camp for over 16 years as a camper and a staff member I can definitely say that this place is amazing. While the administration has not always been consistent, the amazing staff and counselors has always made sure campers have had an amazing time. The facilities need some work but the camp is being improved more and more every summer. Overall, this is one of the best places to spend your summer.

While the facilities could use some help, and the activities are low key, it is very relaxing, and most of the kids love it. :)

I LOVE RAMAH!!!
Some activities aren't the best (see: yahadut), but the people there have changed my worldview and the religious aspect has as well. Before I went to camp, I didn't know the birkat. Now, I can recite the whole thing from memory.
Go niv09!

The facilities and activities need to be improved, but this camp attracts quality kids from quality families. The friends you make are for life.

I'm from Ramah in Canada and Ramah Berkshires visited us for two days. I asked around and people said it's INCREDIBLE. One girl says to me, "It's amazing. There's no place I'd rather be. The staff, the campers, the spirit. I love it." Huh. Never thought Ramah would do SO weelll.
