Woodruff Scout camp is the best scout camp in the country. There are many different fun activities, including Kendell Crossing, many art and handicraft activities and the aquatic zone is top-tier. The staff cares, however, they're a bit weird. BEWARE OF CRISPY! The facilities are great, however some need renovations. Overall a great camp, my troop has gone every year since opening (yes I am from troop 298)

The dining hall is overpacked, and very hot , we had to stand up several times to eat because there was not enough room at our assigned table, also at shower house number 8 there was sewage running out on the ground the whole week, I guess someone reported it because Friday morning there were letters from the health dept on the doors saying the facilities should be shut down immediately, instead of shutting down the camp director try’s to cover everything up by ripping all the letters off the doors and accusing a scout of doing it for a prank, I have pictures to prove it, I don’t think it was very scout like to accuse a kid of doing it to cover things up and it sure wasn’t by the law or oath

This is a great camp wonderful facilities and good staff. The food was greatly improved from several years ago . One big negative was their refusal to say the pledge of allegence in the morning. A couple of excuses they gave were time ( 15 seconds ) and that they followed a military format ( military have sworn to defend the constitution so they don't pledge ) they just don't want to say the pledge !!!

An excellent scout camp. My son has been two years in a row and is ready to return already! As for troop placement, who knows how it is done. I personally think the outlying sites are better. Though they are are farther out, they are much more quiet.

Why are the Troops with mainly minority students placed at the back of the camp when several sites are empty leading up to these out-of-view sites? We've been told it is all about the size of the troops, but when we are passing comparable sites to get to our troop, I find that hard to believe. Racist at best.

I always enjoyed going to WSR as a scout. My troop would go every other summer so that says a lot about the programs and the camp. Good range of activities and merit badges available for all level of scouting.

Woodruff Scout Reservation is a great place for your scouts to learn their skills and have a great time doing so. This camp has everything you could imagine including: A full cope course, shooting sports range, large waterfront area including motorboating, miles of hiking trails, trips down the ocoee and nantahala rivers, horseback riding, handicapped accesible campsites, and about 2000 acres worth of beautiful land...

Staff seemed to have many intrapersonal problems that affected their overall product of the camp experience. COPE was the only exception. If you want a great COPE and climbing experience, I highly suggest WSR.

After attending many camps around the nation WSR was the very best. The staff is very attentive for such a large camp, and the facilities are excellent. The boys loved their camp experience!

I will say that like every other camop in the nation there are staff that can ruin the expirience for everyone. The facilities are very good with 5 indoor showerhouses and power to almost all of the teaching areas. We offer a full range of on camp and off camp activities, including whitewater rafting down the Ocoee and Nantahala Rivers. They affer one of the largest wariety of merit badges in the entire South East. However with only about 150 staff, we can't give 1000+ campers personal attention.

Very Friendly Competent Staff, starts and ends the season with the same great attitude. Wide range of activities including 60+ merit badges and a seemingly endless string of activities. Good campsites, older but very functional facilities. Great food. Optional order of personalized Troop T's on signing up is a plus. Bring few cars parking is limited, but campsites are full accessible 2 Full time Rangers. Over 20 miles of trails on 1600 acres with gorgeous lake and mountain views in all seasons. Top notch Climbing and aquatics facilities.
