i just finished my fourth summer here and i love it so much. everyone here is so nice and as long as you are nice, you will make amazing friends here. all the counselors are so fun espicailly on girls side. the uniforms are a bit outdated but that's fine because they look cute and everyone wears them. they're redoing the lodge and dock and i'm excited for that.

good things: fwwh. it’s fun if you want to experience going to sleep away camp without the “ jappy “ or elitist side of things. most kids are rich but it’s harder to tell. the people i met there are amazing and it’s easy to make friends if your young.
bad things: counselors dgaf, activities are horrendous and boring, if u play a sport u will definitely lose all ur skills over the summer, no pool/good place to play in the water, cabins and platform tents don’t have electricity, temperature controls, and r basically the same ones from 100 years ago, camp is small only 300 people in total and each grade only have like 20 ppl so it’s hard to make friends if u start late. finally, uniforms. don’t even get my started on those. they are dirty and are stained and r the same ones all the campers wore 100 years ago.
conclusion: if u want ur kid to be humbled send them here otherwise spend a few more 100 dollar and send them to an east coast camp. there’s better ones that coast the same/less.

The staff are amazing and make every camper fit right in. Camp is the one place where you can be yourself, no one judges you. Everyone fits it. I have never known a sole to not like Four Winds. The place is amazing, I spend my days not at camp wishing to be there. The friends I made there are forever. Everyone is inclusive and no one is left behind. It is the most beautiful place ever. There are activities for everyone. I have grown so much. I wouldn't be who I am today with out camp.

Four Winds is an outstanding camp with a terrific staff and leadership team. Campers learn independence, and I think learn to value themselves and others on a true and meaningful level. Activities are traditional and fun, staff is top notch, setting is rustic and stunning, and the camp has a very rich history. There are many multi-generational families (my own included) represented in the camp community, which I think speaks to the camp's longevity and commitment to its values over time. Welcoming to new families, as well. Financial aid program is impressive. I could go on and on. Great camp.

Even two days there was two days to long. I can not comply with how long i actually spent there. One moth. MY life was altered there. I was not treated like a n individual. I felt like another robot, being emitted into a cult. Having to pray and sing bible songs. Having to sing lowly life songs, which made me feel like i was seven again. I would never go back to a place like that. The Activities too, were horrific. Every day there was the same. Like boot camp. I wish to abolish this camp!

If you're a conformist, do the same thing as everyone else, follow directions closely, live in a boarding school all year, are used to a strict daily routine, patiently wait in line, and enjoy a set daily schedule, this camp is for you! If you're independent, enjoy being different, creative, spontaneous, and have some flair, you probably won't fit in here. This is an old camp that's ran the way it was 80 years ago - and probably with the same uniforms issued to all campers today!

I have been a camper here for years, and am going to be a counselor, hopefully (if my application goes through). I can say, honestly, that the 1/5 ratings should be ignored- FWWH is an amazing camp and, although the uniforms might be annoying and the lack of electronics might be a punishment for some kids, the camp's culture revolves around building social skills and growing up. By relinquishing the modern day distractions for a month, a child can learn about who they are. The camp gives its campers the opportunity to expand in a naturally inviting atmosphere. If you are questioning whether to go here or not, I would, without hesitation, tell you to go for it.

Absolutely the greatest camp ever made... hands down. Great tradition, amazing staff and offers the best summer trip program possibly in the world. Ever year they take 9 campers sailing up to princess louisa inlet up in BC, Canada for their camp session. I have done both camp and the sailing trip and they were the 2 best summers of my life!

The most amazing place in the world!!! Although some campers may be unhappy at camp ( due to homesickness, not wanting to even be at camp!) it truly is a magical place, and ALL of the kids by the end of the session do not want to leave!

This place is a very special place. You must like the water, you must like the outdoors and you must like just having fun. If you go in knowing your going to hate it.... then theres a good chance you'll hate it, but if you go in with an open mind, the place can change lives. My own life was altered from wanting to run business to attending a Maritime Academy. The things you get to do at Camp are things that not many people can say they have done, or will ever do. Earlier on in my time i took a month long sailing tour up into Canada, on the Camps Yawl Carlyn. We topped out in Bute Inlet, a place which is not exactly accessible to the normal everyday person. Yes, being outside 24/7, taking cold showers and sleeping in 35 degree weather may not work for everyone, but for those of us who can take it, it will not disappoint. Send your child here, there lives will be altered for good, i am a 10 year veteran of the place and will always think back the "Times i love best"

I am a counselor at Four Winds, I work on the dock teaching sailing and waterfront activites. I have been a camper, counselor in training, and now a staff member and it is my favorite place on earth. The tradition behind Four Winds is far beyond a lot of camps I have heard of. It is well worth the time and money to spend 4 weeks as a camper at Four Winds. It is the greatest gift I have ever received.

Great camp I practically grew up here I have been going for ten summers now and don't plan on stopping any time soon. As a camper and a young kid this is where I did the growing and developing. The counselors were caring individuals that really cared about their kids I am currently a staff member there and I like to think that I give as much love and attention to the kids that I look after as well as the ones that I teach tennis to. This camp taught me who I am and gave me some of my best friend for life. It is a very traditional camp that balances fun, learning, and the outdoors. Sending me to this camp when I was nine was the best thing that my parents ever did for me.

I attended this camp in 2007. This camp was pretty fun. The view from your cabins is amazing because you can see all the water and some islands. The food was pretty good too. Their is a variety of fun activities. The negative thing is how long the camp is. If you are someone that gets homesick a lot, this camp would be hard to go thru by just sending letters. This camp was still generally fun!

Food is pretty bad, not much to do at this camp. Campers are required to wear uniforms from the 1920's (Bloomers)!

Wow, this next summer will be my 5th year in a row going, not including junior session. Definatly, this camp has changed my life in all positive ways. The activities are so diverse and you have sooo many choices! Whether you are there for a month or a week, you will love it. Ignore the occasional incidents of lodge fires, the overal experience will be the best in your life!!!

I was a counselor there in 1991, and the kitchen burned. THe campers helped clean the toxic carcinogens off the walls. We ate PB&J sandwiches that tasted like smoke. THis had to have been illegal.
