Camp Jean d'Arc is truly a magnificent experience for girls. Generations of families attend it, making it a wonderful way to share a common experience between sisters, mothers, and grandmothers.

I attended this camp and now my daughters attend camp. It is the most fabulous all-round girls camp with wonderful traditions and none of the distractions of the electronic world. The girls get to be kids and have the time of their lives. I love this camp and so do my girls!

I spent most of my childhood and teen as a camper and staff member at J'DA as did 5 of my siblings- maybe 6- I learned to sail, swim, ride horses and love here. I will never forget Cornel and Cornel Mac... I'm showing my age. When away from camp I would visit them in New York City.I learned respect for elders, the love of Mass in the chapel and team spirit. Loved tennis and loved beating my sister Susan in the camp finals. she has passed but I remember how hard we played and how much she loved camp.Margaret taught me how to ride and I still do. I owned a sailboat for sometime and sailing is still one of my favorite things to do. The person who said some negative things about camp does not live in the real world. We learn as we grow and I did a lot of that at Jeanne D'arc.

I have been lucky enough to be a camper and counselor at this camp and I can honestly say that this place has truly made me the person I am today. As a camper the counselors were knowledgeable and kind and totally invested in the camper experience. I left every summer with a new found confidence that can only come from an all girls environment. The traditions are amazing and really resonate with the person I am today. I have friends that I made 20 years ago at camp and we can see each other and nothing has changed. As a counselor I was sad to read the 09 review as she seemed to not take away the amazing opportunity 99% of the young woman do. You have to be invested in what you are doing at camp and you have to love it!! I went through 2 weeks of training and was a lifeguard and was really equipped for anything that happened that summer! Also the food is amazing!! I would love to give camp to every girl and I would send them here without hesitation!!

There is noting bad for me to say about this camp. The girls and the counselors are great, the food is delicious, the activities are tons of fun, and the area is beautiful. Pretty much all of the girls get along and the friends I made there are friends that I will most likely have for the rest of my life. There is so much that you can not learn about the camp untill you actually come.... SO COME TO JDA! <3333

I love CJDA!!!! the review from 09' is completely inncorrect, sorry! Also, it is from two years ago, they have no idea how it is now. I just got back and it was wonderful, as my first time. I'm not totally aware of their training, but all of the counselors in camp spoke english, and completely cared about you. They made an effort for you to have a great time. Take MY advice, send your daughter to CJDA!!!!

I am a former counselor who has a daughter attending Camp Jeanne d'Arc. This is a high quality camp with lasting values and traditions based on Faith, Edurance, Courage and Confidence. This camp offers excellent leadership development for young girls. All of the alumna are very bright capable women with lifetime friendships!!

this is my 2nd summer at camp and we had a great time! The staff is really nice and so is the camp director, who really cares about every individual camper. You should not come to this camp if you do not like to swim because campers swim everyday, which is not optional. The weather is iffy too sometimes freezing, raining and boiling hot, but it's still a great camp. If you're looking for a traditional camp, this is the perfect fun-filled camp for you.

I would, as a fellow former counselor, like to disagree with the comment below. I felt that I had been adequately trained in both CPR and lifeguarding. Also, to claim that counselors were only interested in their own experiences could not be farther from the truth. Both the girls and the campers were all wonderful, and the counselors cared deeply for their campers and each other. CJd'A is a wonderful camp, offering simple fun, silliness, a sense of tradition, and learning that is hard to find in today's world. I would love to work there again if I have the chance, and in the future would absolutely send my own daughters there.

I noticed that all of the reviews listed for Camp Jeanne d'Arc have been written by campers, those who never know what goes on behind closed doors. I was never a camper but as a former counselor for two summers, I am aware of the weaknesses of the camp. Forgive my concise summary but there is a 1000 character limit. The counselors are not well trained. I was tested for the CPR exam by the daughter (and camper) of the instructor. In all honesty, I had no idea what I was doing and still passed the exam. Also, a good amount of the counselors do not speak English, and how is the camp going to teach 1st aid to a person that does not speak English? Also, the counselors only care about their own experiences and do not pay attention to many of the campers. They also favor certain campers. In conclusion, the camp is not a quality camp as it claims itself to be. I would write more but my review will probably not be posted. Please follow my advice and do not send your daughter to this camp.
