Since the COVID changes, the camp isn't the same. A major draw was scheduling daily activities, but now kids are stuck in repetitive routines with the same group each year. If considering a second week, there's little variation. Many campers already know each other, which can leave newcomers feeling excluded. For example, in my daughter's cabin, 6 out of 10 kids already attended the same school and often left others out. No effort was made to rectify this. The quality of counselors varies, and there have been issues with bullying and theft that the camp doesn't adequately address. We're looking for a different camp next year.

This camp is truly amazing. I went for my first time last summer and had a great time. I went the first week and things started a bit slow with all the new COVID rules and regulations but once it was all figured out, it was awesome! The staff are great and care for everyone. The tuck shop has so many things to buy. From slushies and ice cream to hoodies and stuffed animals to cups and bracelets. The food is good and the activities were so fun. The price might seem like a lot, but it's worth it. The environment that has been created there is astounding. I felt so confident after I left MW and can't wait to go back next summer. 100% recommend sending your kids there.

My sons (9 year old fraternal twins) came back with only good things to say - they experienced only kindness from staff and other campers - no bullying, picking on each other, name calling or fights. On the first day we got to meet their counselors, ask them questions, and help them get to know our kids, plus we were served a BBQ dinner. My son's enjoyed having time to themselves - 4 hours a day to sign up for activities of interest to them, and not spend all their time with cabin mates. They said food was delicious and enjoyed buying "pop and junk food" from the shop which they don't usually get to eat at home. The facility is super clean - no ants or bugs as someone else mentioned. Our family will be returning next summer - 2019 :)

Muskoka Woods is the best camp ever!!!! All the staff are hilarious and amazing people and make sure you have an amazing time while at your stay! I swear this camp is more of a resort then an actually camp! The people their call you guests and not campers! The food here is amazing and since I am a picky eater, I loved every thing they saved and would also have back ups just I case you didn't like their meal. The activities here are also very well done and super entertaining, they have activities from waterskiing to rope claiming, I Rember being really scared and upset when I was first dropped off but I soon made some amazing friends and was upset when I was picked up the next week! I cannot wait too go back next YEAR

My son attended this camp with his school. The cost was $500 plus 80$ spending cash. He bought a hoodie on the last day was rushed by his activity supervisor and forgot it, the supervisor went back and grabbed his stuff and forgot the sweater. It cost $60 . He later went on to be served pork foe lunch which we do not eat, that's ok they offered a substitute but never came back . He did not eat all day!! I called the camp they looked for it they are sorry, they have a lot of kids . Really that's it ! Next year he will not attend, I don't trust you to look after my son. I left him in your care and you failed and your customer support is a joke. I had to call twice before someone even looked for the sweater, of course it's gone

I went to Camp Muskoka with my school during the winter this year, and i don't recommend going here. The activities they planned were not good at all, and not fun whatsoever. We did shelter and fire building which was decent and we had a dance karaoke party. The cabins mattress were extremely hard and the bunk beds made creaking noises every time you would get on or off. The cabin was practically infested with ants, in the showers, bathrooms, and even on your bed. The staff there were annoying and take years to start an activity because they're always making jokes with the other councillors. Each person had to pay 300 dollars to attend this excursion, but it was not worth it. The food they had were very bad. There was no flavouring, no options and they gave you a limit even though it's a "buffet". They even messed up the drinks, it was all water downed! Overall, I wouldn't suggest attending this excursion, because it definitely is not worth the money.

Upon getting there, we sat in a hot, sticky room with multiple strangers for an hour, until finally told to go to our cabins. We picked our (bunk)beds, which were hard mattresses, with creaky railings. So, if you have the top bunk, and you wake up every night at 3AM because your pillow slid down the side of the bed, you have to do parkour to get the pillow without waking your already-grouchy classmates. When we got in the groups, our leader was some hormonal teenager, who always seemed as if they had something better to do with their time. Meanwhile, the activity leaders had as much energy as a small dog, and were always very preppy. Though with some things, you do get the option to sit out, most you are expected to do. There was an event in which my friend was forced to go up on stage, and she didn't want to, so she ran out of the building. I chased after her, and got in trouble later by my school teacher, who apologized later, because I was right. Do not recommend this camp, very bad

I went to Muskoka Woods with my school during the winter, I did not have a good time. I had two leaders one in my cabin and one who lead my activities, they were both rude. Once I was in my cabin and my fellow cabin mates started teasing me and my friends. They did nothing. Also one day the food made me sick but of course there was no seats available. The activities were unenjoyably and I would not go unless you enjoy bed experiences,

This camp is AMAZING! Honestly. I went there for 6 years and every summer was the absolute best time of my life. I miss my Rosseau family all the time because the people there really do become your family. It's such a positive environment and I grew as a person SO much during my time there. The staff (instructors, counselors, heads, and more) are THE BEST! They're so supportive, helpful, relatable, and they became like my siblings. The only reason people say it's a "resort" is because of the amazing facilities, but honestly I wouldn't know half the skills I know now without them. I can wakeboard, do baranis on trampoline, windsurf...etc. I've become way more outgoing and NO girls don't spend hours putting on makeup to impress boys there! My advice is 10000% send your kids here! I will be and honestly I've met the most amazing people in the world at this camp. I'd never trade my experiences here for anything at all.

I went here this past summer, with a MFRC group (They raised money for kids with parents in Task Force 1-10 to go) and I say it was worth every penny they raised. I made great new friends and I loved my councilor. All the girls in my cabin were amazing, I almost cried when I had to leave. The food was great, the sports were amazing, and the experiance was the best week of my life. Over that week, the girls I didn't know in my cabin (all of them) became some of my best friends, and I will never forget them. The activities after supper were absolutely awesome and it was great because I got to see the two (boys) I did know that were there and they were fun. All of the games were fun and dressing up for different games was also cool, I loved this camp sooo much and can't wait for this summer because I get to go back! I <3 Muskoka Woods!! I hope I see my councilor from last year again!

As a 16 year old city girl, it may be surprising the I love this camp. And no it's NOT because of the boys. I've been lucky enough to have attended since I was 9 which I think qualifies me to review this fantastic place.
It may seem expensive, but the activities offered with amazing facilities range from dozens of sports, to the expanded arts areas and traditional camp activities will keep you child busy during the day with fun evening programs as well.
The staff have been chosen based on their skills and Christian values. They do not force their views instead talking about morals and personal experiences.
This discussion about prissy girls saddens me, because girls from ages 12-16 tend to rely on makeup and attention from boys for self confidence. The camp does not promote that but rather the opposite with counsellors with a true desire to help these girls discover their true potential.
It is a great camp that should be at the top of every child's -and parent's- wish list.

If i could live there, I would. This camp has amazing facilities, great and caring counsellors and awesome food. The system in which you spend money is foolproof and the staff are nice, caring and committed to their work. Finally, the guests (yes guests, not campers) have come from around the world, so you can create friendships with people from France, Russia and Australia, in one week! So if you go here, long story short, you will have a great time and have memories that will last a lifetime.

I had the WORST TIME OF MY LIFE at muskoka woods. I only met one or two nice counselors and the rest were secretly rude and talked about their cabin when they had time off to everyone else. The girls literally spent 45 minutes doing their hair and make up just to impress the guys, and honestly if a girl didnt wear makeup i dont think the guys would like her as much as they liked all the other girls dressed as ****s. the girls are all for competition and hooking up with the most guys, not having a good time with your activities. everyone in my cabin had fights over boys all the time and boys even made fun of my friends to their face. if your daughter is a natural, tomboyish girl who wants to make friends DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS CAMP. this camp is basically a god damn hook up camp that mostly attracts insanely rude girls who are mean to a girl just because they might be better looking while the guys are just shallow. i hated it there.

great facilities. decent staff. activities are impressive. only problem? IT'S NOT A SUMMER CAMP. Muskoka Woods is a resort, not a camp, and generally only appeals to kids who get whatever they want at home. I mean, people going to MW aren't even considered "campers", but "guests". :/

best time of my life at the woods. These people work so hard all year to make sure that each guest has the opportunity to have a life changing experience. There is constant work going into developing the character of the staff and helping them to create a great environment for the guest. Its not the typical campy type place. it offers state of the art sports facilities so that guests can work on developing their skills. And if you are not into athletics there are so many other awesome programs you can get involved in. Did you know that there is a culinary program? and a wellness program, oh and don't forget leisure sports. I know its pricey but when you think about what you are getting offered, its pretty awesome, The food is great, I mean after being there for a couple weeks it will repeat itself but what camp doesn't . I have met some awesome staff and guests there and I am still in contact with them, they care about me and its cool.

This has to be the best camp in North America! I am the mother of three boys, now 17, 14 and 11, and my kids have attended since the oldest was 9. Yes, the camp is Christian in focus, but not in a zealous way. Each evening there is a values-based discussion, centred on the Bible. We are not a formally religious family, but hte concepts my children have come away with have been awesome. The facilities are lovely and immaculate. Most importantly, the cousellors and instructors are absolutely, positively second to none. They come from around the world, and are carefully chosen for their spirit and spectacular leadership qualities. The campers also come from around the world, adding a unique and wonderful dimension to the camp experience. The food is good...a major plus for a camp. My children have made a network of lifelong friends here, and feel like Muskoka Woods is a second home. As a parent, I am wholly impressed by the amount of parent contact by the staff, and their accessibility.

Okay, so here's the complete truth about Muskoka. Yes, it`s true. There are lots of spoiled rich kids at camp. But you`ll still have a good time as long as you can make friends. Chances are the people who really couldn`t make friends were people who weren`t social to begin with. So come here if you`re looking for a good time. The sports aren`t extremely challenging and you`ll end up spending most of your time hanging out with friends and buying candy anyways.

i went here with my class for a couple of days in grade seven, so i didnt quite have the full muskoka woods camp experience, but from what i saw it was probably overall a decent camp. i think you really have to be an athlete to enjoy and appreciate the camp, and i wasnt. it was fun because i was there with my friends but if you went and you weren't athletic i think it would be hard. the staff were adequete but it felt like they were just doing their job, like some they were just there to be paid. on the other hand there were one or two that were really helpful and encouraging, really good with us kids! it was a bit too impersonal in general. the food was okay, not really that good but at least edible. the activities were great and would be really fun if that was your thing! that was one of the greatest things about it. the zip line and all the different fields and areas for different activities. lastly, the cabins were okay. i didnt like climbing the hill but they were nice and clean.

Muskoka Woods has to have been the best camp I've ever been to! Everything there is perfect. You have so much freedom and the staff actually cares about if you having a good time or not & if your not they will fix it for you. This was my first year and I enjoyed it so, so much. The food was a little 'eh' but other than that everything was great. The comments about everyone being stuck up there isn't true. There are different groups of people, not all of them are pre-madonnas. The cabins are nice but really stuffy inside, the water veiw is amazing, the consellours are fun, the night activites are SUPERR! I would highly highly recommend this camp for someone that just wants to get away from everything but dosent want to rough it. I'm definatly coming back next year!

you cant beat MWSR. Everything aobut it is perfection. People say it's not a true camp, and it's not its so much more. We have more fun, make more friends, and do sooo much more. It really is life less ordinary. If you want a summer experience like no other this is the camp for you. No one is snobby, and stuck up. There are alot of privalleged kids yes but they are just as down to earth as anyone. The cost is worth it, and once you go, you never want to come home. The staff are all so genuine and people that are trully cool to hang out with. The facilities are top notch for sure. Every single activity is beyond your imagination. Camp is what I look forward to all year long. The evening programs are like no other camps no doubt, and it seriously is the best place to be!

this camp is really good until you get to be around 14 or so. if you're looking for a camp experience at that age, don't go to MWSR. if you're a girl, your cabin will be littered with straighteners and hair dryers and everything, and that just isn't what camp is about. people care too much about what other people think there, people care too much about self-appearance there...you don't go to camp to get judged. on the other hand, it's fantastic. great activities (the skills during the day and the games at night), the counselors and instructors are awesome, great facilities. attracted worldwide, you'll meet people from everywhere there. lots of different things to do. so in total, camp = effing great. people = who would want to hang out with them?
