This is the best place in the whole world! I had an amazing time! This camp is more then a regular camp Kenwood kenmont will forever and ever be my summer home. The freindships you make here are the best ones ever. These boys and girl are m brothers and sisters. I love everything about this camp. If I had to decribe it in one word I would say family. amazing, amazing, amazing

My son had a horrible experience at this camp. He was bullied by other 13 year old boys in his bunk and in other divisions. While my son lashed back to protect himself, the camp counselors and Camp Director did little to protect him. On his last night in camp they quarantined him to the health center to remove him from the other boys and then did not call me to let me know he was isolated. They treated him like a dog placing him in isolation and slept in his activity clothes. Not providing him his belongings, pajamas or option to call home. The way the Camp Director Tom decided to handle this situation is disgusting and endangering to children's moral well-being. Do not send your child to this camp.

Many people may or may not give a bad opinion of this camp but I truly love this camp. This camp is amazing and it is one of the best places to send your kids. Yes there may be some annoying rules that kids may not want to follow but camp is really just setting us for the future and I really like this camp. It will be my fifth year and every single year I have cried because I want to stay there forever. The bunks and bathrooms are a little hot and gross but that is all apart of the camp experience. Camp is camp!!!! I love this camp!!!

I went to this camp for 5 years and it has so far been the best part of my life! To be honest there was bullying, but they DID deal with it! All I have wanted to do for the past 3 years is go back (Im waiting to be a counselor). I did have bad counselors at some points, but no matter where you go you are bound to have one. The whole chicken and pasta thing that is like a signature thing (if you want there are sandwiches and salads) People did talk about their rich lifestyle, but that really shouldn't bother you. I am nothing like these kids, the only reason I was able to go here was because I had multiple family members working there. I met some of the coolest people there! Counselors pay is pretty bad. The owners everyone keeps talking about are no longer at the camp.This camp is nothing like school and you cant complain about it being buggy it is a camp in the mountains outdoors.I understand everyone has their own opinion Im just saying what I saw behind scenes and as a camper.

My daughter just finished her second year at KMKW and it has been a fabulous experience. We are not a wealthy family, and she has not been ostracized or bullied about not being a rich kid. She has an outstanding and well rounded experience, and get to participate in activities such as sailing, water skiing, etc that she would never get to do at home. We are fortunate to be able to send our daughter to this camp and will look forward to future years. She feels safe, loved, and busy for the 3.5 weeks she is there. She's made great friends and the staff is top notch.

I can honestly say going to this camp is up their with the best decisions of my life so far. It is so fun and I look forward to going there every single year. I sometimes daydream about it the winter time. For the most part,the staff is excellent, but some of the head counselors just stand around and do not even talk to the kids. On another note, the facilities are among the best in the country. You are never bored and there is a huge variety of things to do. The activities are extraordinary to say the least. You can do virtually ANYTHING at camp. Personal attention is good, nothing extreme, but the only way that they find out if you are doing alright is a sheet of paper that you grade everything 1-10 on such as bunkmates, counselors, etc. I think they should have face to face conversations with each camper. Now the only precaution about the camp is that it is NOT cheap. I personally think that it is worth it, but if you have to struggle to get the money, then it is your call.IloveKM!

I can honestly say that the four years I spent at Kenwood were the best summers of my life. I wish I had started earlier, because I would have loved to spend more time at Kenwood. The staff are great. Sure, I didn't absolutely love every single counselor I had, but the overwhelming majority of my counselors were fantastic. The division leaders and heads of camp are great too. They're busy, but they always had time to talk to us and help us with anything. The activities were always fun and helped bring the campers closer together. The friends I have made at Kenwood are my friends for life. I never imagined that spending four weeks with eleven girls when I was ten years old would bring us so close, but it did, and going back to Kenwood every year after that and getting to be with my sisters was such a treat. The values Kenwood has instilled in me will last a lifetime. Kenwood is a fantastic place to spend a summer; I highly reccomend it!!!! Maps '08 FOREVER!!!!

I love Kenwood and kenmont. the staff is so nice and the girls are so sweet, never the mean type. The staff show you that you can do anything is you set you mind to it. The food and facilities are amazing and the activities are so much fun. I really love kenwood and think it is a great camp.

An outstanding camp and probably one of the best in the nation. The staff is highly trained, specialists are experts in their field, and the focus is 100% on the campers and their experience. The facilities are top-notch (good luck finding another camp with better facilities). Each day has new activities, with special activities at night, and popular special days throughout the session. An amazing experience!

I have been going to Kenwood for 3 years and i hated it all of my 3 years. All the counslers are mean and some kids don't know how to respect other girls. Alot of people love this camp but I don't.

I went as a camper and all the kidz brought pictures of their billion (not x.adgerating) dollar houses. the kids whos houses wernt fabulous or who didnt come from ny or la spent the whole time friendsess... good mental exersise if you want people 2 become soscial climbers.....

This was my first summer working at KenMont/KenWood and it was absolutely amazing. My coworkers, the campers, and the head staff made this my best summer yet. I don't know how many people I have recommended this camp to. Whether you are looking for a place to work for the summer or a camp to send your children, KenWood/KenMont should be the top of your list.

Been working at this camp for 2 years now and although not 100% perfect, I would be hard-pressed to find very much wrong with it. I work full time jobs during the year and make sure to quit or let them know I cant work the summers because I plan to go back and have a blast summer after summer again. I read the bad reviews and I suppose you'll never please everyone, but from my experience the kids really do enjoy Kenmont/Kenwood. Hopefully I'll be back next Summer to enjoy my 3rd year.:)

Seriously considering sending your children to this appalling camp! Bullying is rife amongst campers and from my experience, very little is done by staff to prevent and deal with it! I have been to summer camps before and have had a great time but my time at Kenmont was awful.

i just finished my 5th summer at kenwood and i can honestly say it is my life and going there was the smartest thing i ever did!! i love my kenwood sister, they r always there and that kenwood made us. it tought me that the world has a balance and u can find a family in friends. over the best 4 weeks ever your counselers become ur big sisters who u can go to for ANYTHING and the staff has alway rocked! As for the 10 AMAZING girls i have been in a bunk with since i was 9, they become ur life line, as the schools goes on they r ur suport. if anyone is looking to go to camp go here!! it will change u. kenwood tought me trust and loulaty and love whitch is somthing worth going 3000 miles away from my home to find!! i love this camp and i love my sisters. after anyone goes here they will not be more greatful for anything in there lives then kenwood!!! plus the activivtes r awsome! i love you junioirs 08!!! Going to Kenwood was most definitely up there with the best decisions I've ever made in my life. I really feel that I had the real camp experience and it was everything I could have asked for and more. I've just finished my 5th and last possible year there, and it's been devastating because I wish I could go back more than anything. I've made the best friends I've ever had there. I have so many great kenwood memories between the millions of laughs and cries me and my friends have shared. The camp may not be perfect, but nothing is. The imperfections are some of the things I love most. The staff are all so nice and fun. My kenwood summers have been the best weeks of my life. This is an amazing camp, and anyone interested should definitely send their children here. The camp is beautiful and the activities are all fun and exciting. Right now more than anything I wish I could be back at kenwood with my 11 amazing bunkmates who have grown to be my sisters. - always and forever, MAPS 08 GREA

all right i went to this camp for 5 years and absolutely LOVED it for 4 years, however my last year was a complete disaster. for the most part, the counselors are rude and your lucky to get a nice one. bunks are pretty bad, but thats part of the camp experience so i cant complain. food is actually particularly good but this camp has an unhealthy amount of FAVORITES and they are not subtle about this fact at all. i would recommend this camp definitely, i had some of the best summers in my life there, however from a particular experience, it is very easy to be cast to the side and watch the more favorited kids in your division get better treatment. thats the sad truth but kenwood really is an amazing place to be. the camp does a good job of making things fun, for example carnival day, trip day, DJ jeff..

Kenwood camp is the best camp in the whole world! Sometimes, I wouldn't mind staying there my whole life! The kids are nice and there are no bullies. Everything stays pretty much PG rated. Girls bond and share a lifetime at this life-changing place.

I have spent time in kenmont kenwood. Firstly the staff lounge is a disease ridden flea pit. I agree with the comment below that most of the comments left have been posted by staff who were sent out emails instructing them to do so. faviouritism is shown to ex campers who become cousellors indeed in the last month an ex camper took a golf cart and crashed it and was not fired prob due to daddys money whilst new staff have been fired for mistakes less serious mistakes .also the campers are too mature for their own good indeed condoms have been confiscated from 14 year old maps while others are rude to kitchen and maitainence saff. Although my experience is not all bad the fact that nepotism is at all allowed must be stopped as it affects all the staff who become disgrunted+annoyed leading to them quitting which in turn affects the children nevertheless many of teh staff work hard to provide these children with entertainment with little or no thanks whilst getting paid little money

BEST CAMP EVER! after reading all the negative comments, to me they dont make sence, like some of the reasons are that there is only chicken and pasta... umm so what! ITS CAMP FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! you cant expect to get the best food!
i have been going to this camp for a long time, i am returning as my 6th year and i love it! there is nothing else that i would rather be doing in the summers!
the camp is so much fun! it is really easy to make friends and the counselors are so nice and welcoming! the activities are really great and the night time activities are also so much fun!
it is also a WONDERFUL place to go when you have siblings cause the camp gives you time to talk and spend with them!
I LOVE KENWOOD/KENMONT! it is the best camp everr!!! staff is great as i said before.... and all camps have SOME bad things but this camp has like.. NONE! i cant wait for summer 2008, it is going to be the best one yet to happen

Kenmont-Kenwood is one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. I was a camper for six years and each year I grew to love the camp more and more. The facilities are incredible and the staff is welcoming and fun. There's always something going on, but the activities don't even compare to the friendships made and the fun had at Kenmont and Kenwood camps. The camp atmosphere is absolutely amazing and there is never a dull moment and everyone is happy and having a great time. I can honestly say nothing bad about Kenmont or Kenwood and I would recommend both camps to everyone.

All in all, it's a good place to be. There's some truth and some stretch in everything that everyone else has said. Yes, there've been some bad staff before or sometimes people feel like they didn't get the exact attention they deserved. It happens. For the most part, though, it's a summer full of fun, amazing activities, and lots of friendships forming on an absolutely gorgeous landscape. There's not much more you could ask for.

I attended kenwood for fourteen years as both a camper and a staff member, and I can truly say it shaped me into the person I am today. I learned valuable skills that have defined my character and will always consider kenwood to my first home. I still keep in touch with many of my own camp friends, campers and fellow staff members who love and cherish camp as much as I do. Not only would I highly recommend this camp for the beautiful atmosphere and facilities but also for the incredible caring staff and unique traditions. Being a second generation camper, this incredible experience is something I share with my mother and hope to share with my children someday.

This camp is awesome...was a camper, have been a councelor for 3 years, goin on four. this camp has A LOT to offer, and the kids seem to have the best times of their lives. The cost is high, but if you have the money, consider Kenmont / Kenwood...your children will have memories and friends to last a lifetime.

I was a staff member at KenMont/KenWood this past summer and had the time of my life! The staff was amazing! The politics behind the running of the camp can cause some frustrations, but all the positive aspects outweighed the negative aspects. I loved the camp I attended as a kid, but I wish that I could have gone to KenWood as a camper. 4 weeks seems like a long time to be away from home, but it goes by fast and the memories the campers make are innumerable. The friendships they make during their time at camp will last an eternity. I would recommend this camp and I CANNOT wait to go back next summer :)

this camp is amazing. i have made friends that will last a lifetime. without kenwood i am nothing. who cares how much you get paid. it is an amazing experince. IF you think it dosnt feel like camp because of the electricity. How is on plug to much electricity. i cant speak for kenmont sometimes the do stuff that isnt right but kenwood is really nice. new people are always welcome. The food isnt any homecooked meal but it is good for a camp. Canteen you only go to twice a week and you dont even play the games. the activities are really fun ad they have an outnumbered amount so you can do what you like.This camp is not jappy and they do everything they can to protect people from feeling that way. It is a uniform camp so people dont make fun of others clother. they hav days when you can wear your own clothes. they have visiting day at the end so people whose parents cant come dont feel bad. the counslers are very nice and always help you when things go wrong. I was a staff member here for two years and I really got to see how everything worked from the inside. As far as the staff, I think they might want to up the hiring age to 20, as some of the 18-year-olds seemed extremely immature and unready for such a demanding role. Although there is an application process, they will pretty much take anyone who isn't a serial killer or something. Honestly, the amount of international staff to American staff is grossly disproportionate. The international staff overpowers the American and is treated much better. If you're not in the international clique, you're not well-liked or known. The facilities are very nice, and the camp itself is huge and has a beautiful waterfront. The special events staff work very hard to make activities fun for the kids, but obviously the kids are not going to enjoy everything. But the events coordinator is amazing. Kids get a lot of personal attention and daily bunk reports help divison leaders know about kids' problems.

This camp is an okay camp. The staff is nice, but this camp is WAY TOO ANTI-LAWSUIT. The staff are forced to carry out all the pointless rules. If you do something wrong the senior staff goes crazy. You can't just have fun. As a camper, I seriously think the staff is underpaid. I feel really bad for them. Three staff members got fired in 07 which is ridiculous.

I wouldn't trade my KenWood memories for anything. KenWood has truly changed my life. The activities are fun counselors are nice, same as with most camps. But what is different here is that the friendships you make will last a lifetime. I truly believe that this is the best camp out there. Some of my friends weren't that excited to go backt o camp at the beginning of the summer but I was counting down the days until I could see my sisters again. I can't wait until me and my bff can go back and work as counselors. And if you say the pay is to low, I don't care I just want to go back to my home. If you want to send your child to an amazing camp, KenMont/KenWood is the place. MOMS AND POPS 1ST SESSION 2007 NOW AND FOREVER YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART!

this camp is amazing... don't listen to people say it sucks.... i mean yeah some counslers could be a little mean or a little but its not the owners fault.. i just got back from second session 2007 ( it was my 3rd year). they don't serve chicken and pasta every day. i mean they serve that but they have other stuff.. they have a sandwich station... a soup of the day and salds the breakfast is not disgusting.. its no homade meal but its good... they always have bagles and cearles...... dave and sharon are very nice and do all they can to make it the best possible summer....my favorite part of camp os the people i made friends there that will turn into sisters.... my counslers were amazing all 3 years. i love KENWOOD and I am counting down the days till i can go there again

I've gone to this camp for two years and i enjoy it, but it could easily be better. It is fairly strict unlike how it used to be, which is not much fun. Also the camp is very cheap, but don't let that be the deciding factor in going to this camp. Although it has it flaws. Kenmont's facilities are very good as well as the activities they offer. Staff is usually very good, and fun to be around in the bunks. Overall Kenmont is a fun and well rounded camp (activity wise) although it is strict and is fairly cheap.

i went to kenmont and the facilities were amazing!! also the special events were pretty good. the staff did not care if you had a problem they would usually ignore it.to got out of camp they were as cheap as possible. the dinners and lunches were ok but the breakfasts were disgusting!!!!i strongly recomend you do not go to this camp

I was a camper at Kenmont in the 1960's when it was an 8 week camp. It was the most beautiful camp back than and still is now. My daughter is a 4th yr camper there and she absolutely loves it, the kids, the owners and the staff. Kudos to David and Sharon for keeping the tradition going and providing a safe fun place for our kids for 4 weeks. Ex Camper - current Parent

I love Kenwood!!!! This will be my 3 year at Kenwood! I have made so many great friends! I love all of my consulers and the lake is beatiful! Anyone who is thinking of sending there kid to kenwood should it rocks! My mom went there and I am carrying on the tradition! My favorite part of camp is meeting new friends and color war which rocks! I am so excited to attend camp again this year! Don't listen to people who give this camp bad ratings they are wrong! I will never forget kenwood. It is the best camp in the whole wide world!!

OMG! I'm not gonna exxagerate, but I couldn't have survived living in my jappy town without KenWood. My friends and I have made everlasting memoris and not just become friends,...but we have become sisters. It is different than home friends because a lot of the time camp friends last forever and when you go to college school friend realtionships fade. This will be my 5th year at Kenwood and wouldnt miss it for the world. I LOVE YOU KENWOOD!

I LOVE THIS CAMP!! i had a little bit of trouble with some of the head counselours... bunks + bathrooms are very nice, activities are good, but the kids are AMAZING. dont listen to the jap comments, i have made memories and frienships that will last me until the grave.. I LOVE KMKW SOO MUCH

alright heres the deal with kenwood kenmont. well i went there and the director let me tell you, she's a witch. second, the camp is SO unorganized and really rather repetitive. also, if nothings wrong with you or anyone in your bunk, you division leader or head councelor might just pick on someone for a random reason. and lastly, the fights are endless. you go and find a day where there isnt someone hating another camper. thats my completely honesp opinion. and i will be honest again, i have made friendships there that will last FOREVER AND EVER but also enemies. and you know what? i could have done int anywhere else and it wouldnt be any different.. possibly better than the experience that i had at that camp.

...This camp was great i loved it and all the negative posts are so not true you should send you child to this camp the food has a wide variety of choices and even though the camp is 5800 dollers it is actually not as expensive as a camp like Danbee which costs alot more, it is so totally worth it, the bunks are clean and the kids are great... go white and blue!! <3 KenWood oh' 7!!

The Kencamps offer great programs. Their food is very good compared to most camps. Their staff is nice, patient, and understanding. The camp offers help to individuals and any personal needs. The camp is totally worth it's cost.

My son met other boys at the camp that he still talks with 6 years later. It is probably one of the top four-week experiences kids can have. I think this website is a little subjective. There should be posts for campers and for parents. Disgruntled staff do not give the best picture of what a camp is like.

This camp sucks. Possibly the****tiest and snobbiest camp out there. There is a bunch of rich ****s who have grown up having and doing anything they ever wanted. A pure breeding ground for, i dont know, white collar criminals? A bunch of **** kids pretty much run the place. The counselors are jerks too, extremely immature, and unhelpful. The administration is the worst and is very good at putting a fake veneer on their camp for monetary purposes. The camp directors suck too. Nothing good comes out of this camp. There were countless fights, and crappy school activities. The kids think their great at sports, but their not. Their fake athletes. Never send your kid here if you want the best for them and want them to be happy. Most likely, the camp director will put a post under this right after me denying everything i said. Don't listen to any crap they say. I will be posting back.

I enjoyed my time at this camp, but just because of some of the counselors and division leaders that worked there. The owner is not very nice and seems to worry about saving his behind more than letting us have fun. They also don't bring back the best staff every year. This year my counselor was not allowed to come back for my last year even though he had been there 5 years and had never done anything wrong. I had a lot of good times, but the activities got very old, and they wonder why kids don't return.

the 5 years i spent at kenwood were the best summers of my entire life. my MAPs year, 2005 was everthing that i ever hoped it would be. not being able to spend last summer there (i'm too old) was so upsetting. my memories from kenwood will stay with me my whole life long. the friends i made are like sisters to me, they are my world. all of the campers and counslors were so nice it's amazing. everyone is there for you, no matter what happens. there is a certain indescribable aura the camp spreads that feels like home. every activity and event are so well planned, and carried out. no one is ever excluded or left out. the times i spent there could never be replaced, i highly recomend it. one of my closest friends had a bad problem with home sickness her first year, but decided to give it a try, and it soon became the best thing that ever happened to her. 06757, to some they're just numbers, but to us they're home.

I worked at this camp and I am sorry to say that it was a descision that I regret. Sure there were some great things about the camp, mainly the activities. But I agree that there were favorites from the owners and I am even going to include the division directors and head counselors also. It seems like you have to be part of the clique to get anything or have anything taken care of. I felt sorry for the parents who are spending close to $6000 for their kids to be in school. I worked at another camp this summer and it was one of the greatest times ever....kids picked what they wanted to do. Another thing about KenMont and KenWood is that they did serve chicken and pasta A LOT. I know it is cheaper, but they serve it to a point of being ridiculous. There were days when I felt like just walking down the road to Kent and finiding my way back home, but I stayed for the kids. The kids were the only thing that made the summers special for me. Personal attention was paid to very few..

This camp is the BEST EVER! AS a MAP i have been going to Kenwood for a while and can't get enough. If you don't like chicken, pasta, salad, tacos, ribs, meatloaf and more-then you need to read adjust your diet. They DON'T only serve chicken and pasta and if you don't like the meal the chefs will make you whatever you want. The staff is incredibly helpful and if there is a problem they will fix it immediatly. The facilities and activites are amzing! Yeah- there are cliques-of your WHOLE age group! Everyone there is friendly and accepting of new campers! There are NO favorites from the owners. You barely even see them, how can they treat you like dirt???!? It is true as you get older you have moe fun but that is because you have more responsibility just like at home and school. Therefore the law lets you go out bowling or to a movie. Some other comments say that it's not worth your moey-LIES! It seems like every cent is spent towards making our time more enjoyable! I<3KENWOOD MAPS '07!

Horrible horrible horrible! I threw away everything I got for this camp. I dont ever want to remeber my time there. It was so terrible. The food was junk, all they served was chicken and pasta, like somebody else said. It is also true that they have favorie kids. I was not one HAHA They like the kids who are bullies. It had fun activities during the night. But they were too strict. SIX COUNCILARS IN A CABBIN!! The days got boaring. The owners had favorites. The camp is expensive. They only had chicken and pasta to eat. You also had no privacy, They should be more careful who they pick as their councilars. The Lower camp had no fun cause they treeted them like babies. Upper camp had more fun. We had to clean our cabbins like the shower. WHEN IT IS A 7,000 DOLLAR CAMP. I know a lot of people who left KenWood and liked it or didn't like it and went to another camp and loved that camp a lot better. KenWood only has 1 phone call. Some camps have like a phone like when ever you want after the first week. There were a lot of cliques which they could of controled, a lot of people complained and they did NOTHING about the clique. They lied to visting parents that eveyr bunk was the same. They would show the big bunks and say that all of the bunks were the same . Oveerall, the camp was a waste of time.
