Director does not return calls. Called multiple times with concerns about my child, never a return call. Office staff unprofessional. Food is bad, activities are same and get boring after a few days. Pictures are terrible. Facility is beautiful but this family business has been tainted by current director who does not care about the customer, only his wallet. This is not worth $1400. "Coaches" are trained a week before camp. Better camps out there for gymnastics.

i went to igc since i was 11 and im in high school now and it is my favorite place on earth. my counselors have been like my older sisters, cabin mates like best friends and coaches like role models. they really focus on the fundamentals of your skills and to drills that work wonders. it all really depends if your optomistic and pessimistic. its camp and i love it, and there were some girls that had a negative attitude but i didn't know why, i live 11 months for one, one spent at IGC!!

i went to this camp for 5 years and the first 2 or 3 years were amazing but i was also younger. Your exhausted all the time and the earliest you can go to bed is at 11 but really like 11:20 then you have to wake up at 6:45. As the week goes on its begins to get really boring since the rec activities are the same. The staff can be nice but not all the time. my 5th year the counselor was so mean that they had to fire her which brought drama to our cabin. The gymnastics can be fun but it can be bit controlling at times. You would think that it is all olympians there but its not. The coaches are regular kids that want to make money and are trained a week before the campers arrive. As the years went on it got more and more boring as they started making things more strict. This year I decided not to go because i didn't have fun the year before. Overall i think its a beautiful camp but not worth the money. They make everything seem great but its not all that.

igc is an incredible place for a camper but not for a staff member. upper management is corrupt, biased, unprofessional, and treat the staff that actually make the camp run horribly. they seem to think that everyone is replaceable so they don't need to treat them well. the camp as a whole has been going downhill since around 2009 and can probably be attributed to the director's main concern of commercialization rather than maintaining and improving the solid camp structure and morals that his father put in place when he founded the camp on his love of the sport. it now seems that it is being kept alive purely on the director's love of money. on a positive note, they do tend to hire some incredible coaches, counselors, and recreational staff that will make your child's camp experience wonderful despite the corruption behind the scenes. they will have fun, make friends, and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the pocono mountains while greatly improving their skills.

I was a staff member for this camp Summer 2012. I coached the entire summer. My experience was a very poor one! I expected to be around experienced, serious coaches but was surprised by the opposite. Coaches are trained a week before your child arrives. I met some coaches who did not even know what certain skills were, let alone what skills are required for each level. They treat their staff absolutely terribly which is why the number of returning staff each each is less than 10. Look into other camps to coach at and to send your children to.

If you are a serious gymnast I highly recommend going to IGC! If U are really looking to get new skills and have the full camp experience I would go for at least 2 weeks. It was the best camp I ever went to but there was some downers like the hills U have to walk up, and waking up early=( But yet, this camp is addicting to go to and Iv been going here for 5 years. I always come back to my gym with new skills!!

We were surprised that both our daughters disliked the camp! They expected experienced coaches, not 19 year-olds who didn't even know how to spot safely. Coaches were incompetent and/or inattentive, assuming children knew how to perform the movements rather than instructing them properly.
Campers could only sleep at 11pm at the earliest and had to get up at 6:15. They came back exhausted. My oldest, a social girl, had a hard time w/her peers; she mostly stayed alone the whole week & her advisors never encouraged team building. She also was surprised to hear that NO talking is allowed w/boys (not listed in the camp rules). Anyone over 12 seen to speak with the opposite sex was reported to a counselor, resulting in both children being embarrassed in front of the whole camp. This practice of tattling only undermines any sense of team.
Meals were ok but snacks were unhealthy (e.g. cotton candy, funnel cake, ice cream, candy, pizza & soda; no fruit or granola bars).

This camp is like a gymnastics disney land every gymnast would love it. there is no rythm or reason for this camp to be any less than a FIVE for every single reason there could be. The staff is the beest in the world because the make sure your kids are safe and they make it fun for everyone and of course any age and any level.

We sent our 7 year old daughter to IGC this summer for 1 week. She had a wonderful time and we were very impressed with the camp as a whole and camp experience she received. Our daughter wants to return next summer so we will definitely be sending her back for another great IGC summer.

My daughter attended IGC last summer for one week. 6 months later, it's still her favorite Life experience. She can't say enough good things about IGC.

IGC is a camp that I would not recommend sending your child. Communication is absolutely horrible. You are not allowed to talk to your child at all. You can email your child, but they can not email you back. The staff never returned any of my calls and I called on three different occassions. I was told to send an email and staff would respond, I sent four emails with no response to any of them. With cases of ****ation and adults harming children around the country, it made me uneasy. Before we arrived, I was assured that my child would write and that if I had questions I could always speak with a counselor. Not true. What are they trying to hide? Also, the cabins are old and musty and the wooden railings on some of the bunks had mold. Very disappointed.

This camp was really fun and i met a lot of great friends that i'm still in touch with, but the schedule is very grueling-6 hours of gymnastics daily! the events were fun, if u had friends in ur group, and the food's great! it definitely gets you in shape!

if you are in to gymnastics 24/7 then this is the camp for you although if you're into any fun at all, you should NOT go here. Gymnastics, gymnastics, gymnastics. You would think the camp director's name was Jim Nastics!! The food is amazing, there's AC, so overall it's homey, but if you're into Color War, and fun all day, BEWARE. Good for future Olympic gold medalists, but not for your average camper.

This is like THEE camp for anyone who loves gymnastics. ou spend six hours in the gym, the rest socializing. We got some freedoms taken away, but we still have enough to be free. (If that makes any sense.) The coaches are a little strict, with what skills you can do. The counslers are totally cool. They are willing to chill and talk with you, as well as do something. With everything being air-conditioned it was nice. But, thos damn hills are like torture. There are planty of activities (especially if you're over fifteen) and they keep you busy the entire week. But, rec time gets boring and very repetitive. The personal attention is amazing. The coaches really care about you. Plus, the trainers and nurse are totally understaning and listen to your problems and such. I think it is definitely worth the money. With all of the skills you learn, the life-long friends you make: it is worth the amount you have to pay. I would suggest this for any serious gymnast!

I havent been there since i was 11 and im 13 now but the times i was 8-11. WOW best camp experience i could ask for. I remember walking to my cabin and like finally im here. You can smell the camp air its great. I remember crying after a week when i had to go home, i didn't want to leave. But my parents couldnt afford more than one. Then it was getting more and more expensive and i just couldn't go anymore. I have friends that tell me it has changed alot in a bad way(like less freedom and stuff), but i'd do anything to go back just one more time

IGC was the best camp i have ever been to in my life! I came back to my gym in September and was able to lots of skills. The activities were great and the food tasted out of this world. I cried the day I had to leave, but I will always remember it and I cant wait until next year!

I have been going here for six years. I love it. I have been going for two weeks for five of those six. I learned so much, and had a blast. I usually go with my gym, but last year I went by myself. I had more fun bacause I didn't know anyone, and I had to make friends. The only reason that I am a level nine is because of ICG. I miss it...but, I'll see you next year.

I went to this camp and the counselors and coaches were horrible, they were very mean to me and always made fun of me because i wasnt on the same level as them. They refused to let me do skills that I had had for years when I went. The food was really bad, too.

Well...if you are not a gymnast---I would NOT ATTEND IGC...the program is too competetive and exhausting! I hated it! Went two weeks and was exhausted...dehydrated...and the food sucked! I lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks!
