We have been to camp wood for multiple camps. Our favorite are the family camps. Our oldest daughter is not old enough quite yet to go by herself for a week. They always seem to have great counselors and the facility has recently undergone some major renovations. They have tent camping, old red un air conditioned cabins with bunk beds and brand new air conditioned cabins. We always stay in the old red cabins for the nostalgia of it. The food is alway good. Don't expect to be dining at the Ritz and you will be happy with the meals. The scenery is always gorgeous and our family always seems to to bond while we are there. I highly recommend this camp.

Love Camp Wood!!! Activities are fun and encourage learning and independence. Staff are warm and welcoming. Some of the facilities are older but they are adding and improving each year. I would strongly recommend attending!

My daughter loves this camp. She has been attending since she was 8. This next summer will be her 5th year. She is not too impressed with the food, there is no air conditioning in the cabins, and there are so few showers that it's always cold when she gets there but she still loves it and goes back year after year. It's always the first item on the summer calendar and we schedule around it. She comes home smiling. Keep in mind that the kids aren't able to communicate to the outside world except through written letters by snail mail which might be difficult for some children - I have a very independant child so this was not an issue for her. Lots of traditional camp activities and horse camps. Staff is great, our only problem with staff was one year when my daughter's counselor was foreign and had a very deep accent that was hard to understand and she wasn't very patient. Other foreign and American counselors she has had have been great! I completely recommend this camp!
