Go to Camp WahNee if your kid is the best looking, best skilled, or best athlete. Let's not forget about those who are member of the "elite" family $$, whose families work there, or who have an "in" with the photographer because this camp, which prides itself on integrity and fairness, is built exclusively on FAVORITISM. You would never even know that my kids attended the camp because their positive attributes and values which should have allowed them to them thrive in this "loving and nurturing" environment did not. Why? Because that environment doesn't exist. There is bullying and the owners couldn't care less. They spend more time droning on in lengthy rah-rah emails than on ensuring that everyone gets fair treatment. The same kids in shows, the same kids on teams, and the same kids in photos. The office staff is abrupt and rude. Their attitude fits right into the inauthentic, overinflated, and lofty, ideals of this camp. Sadly, it's all a cloud of manufactured smoke.

Camp Wah-Nee is the best camp that you can go to. Out of all of the camps i toured for my children wah-nee was the best prettiest nicest camp there is. My kids come home every year saying that they had the best time and what i want for my kids is for them to have the best experience at wah-nee like i did. The kids there are so kind nice generous and sweet. I know that for all of the people that go there they can all say that wah-nee is the best most amazing camp. The spirit there is unbelievable and the camp is so pretty. The lake is gorgeous and there are so many fun and new activities and opportunities there. The magic at wah-nee is unimaginable. If you are trying to find the best camp for your kids, Wah-Nee is the one.

I've gone to many other camps but wahnee has made a true home for me and it's a great feeling when every summer you can comeback knowing you have the greatest people in the world greeting you once you step off of that bus. Harvey is like a third grandfather to me, he is one of the most kind hearted people you could ever meet in your life and it is great seeing summer after summer. I've only been going for three years but I am already linked on being at wahnee well into my twenties. This camp is a truly special place that every child should have the chance to have a taste of wahnee. One great way wahnee had treated me is I fell during a game of ultimate frisbee last summer so I originally thought there goes my summer, but no everyone there lifted my spirit right back up and from the kindness of everyone's hearts everyone stepped it up to make last summer my favorite summer I've ever had. I am looking forward to having an even better summer in 109 days 8 hours 40 minutes

I'd have to say that this camp has an infrastructure problem, but aside from that it was a nice landscape. The Water front is pretty, and they spent MILLIONS on a new "state of the art" theatre, which was a disappointment. The returning staff seemed disconnected and snooty. And they hardly talked to anyone new or foreign. I was extremely disappointed by the management's ability to team build and risk manage. For the price I think there are better alternatives, some owners seem more concerned about bringing in the cash than providing a really positive experience for others. The owner likes to live LARGE with one of the nicest buildings on the camp being his decadent cabin. Don't get me wrong the choice in international staff made the experience worth-while; but as far as those that had been long time Wah-neeite's they we're disconnected and disinterested. And the management had little in the way of helping bridge this divide. This lack of Administrative ability turns me off.

The proof is that I have 3 children . 2 boys going on their 12th year and a daughter going on her 7th .People often ask about my boys going back at 19 and 20 . They are there because they love being at camp. There is no camp in the world that's like Wahnee . #1 in teaching good sportsmanship . Also many other life lessons ( Thanks Harvey ) from the outside it may not look spectacular but if you look into the soul of who's watching over your children , it's the best thing you'll ever find .

What do you expect from a summer camp? A place for your child to make friends outside from those at school, learn athletic skills, experience new and exciting things. On a developmental level, especially for the young ones, a place to grow independently from the family while still being instilled with strong values and life skills. Wah-nee accomplishes all of this and more. Clearly the facilities are not comparable to those at Tyler Hill, but is that what we send out kids to camp for? Resort like facilities are not what makes a camp great. My kids aren't complaining about non air conditioned bunks built in the sixties (frankly, i think its part of the Wah-nee experience and charm) nor do I think they'd notice if next summer everything were brand new. They fell in love with the traditions, the spirit and the invaluable lessons Wah-nee has taught them. My kids come home beaming with smiles, counting down the seconds until next summer. What more could a parent want?

I am going back for my ninth summer (summer of 09) and it is the best place in the world. i have fallen in love with the camp itself and the people there. this camp has changed me and i am forever grateful for the love it has given me and lessons i have learned while attending. no place in the world contains as much spirt as do the wonderful people at wah-nee. if you have the chance to go here i strongly suggest you do. it will change your life and you wont be able to think about how u lived a summer with out it. i no one day i will have to enter the real world and not be a camp wah-nee and that will be the worst day ever. do your self or your child a favor, send he or she to wah-nee and give them somethig they will always remember and be thankful for.

To tell the truth, Camp Wah-Nee is the best thing that has ever happened to me. There is not a single day of the year that i do not talk to atleast one of my camp friends. The camp may not be as "resort like" as some other camps, but the people, spirit, and morals of Wah-Nee are what make the camp so special. From Jack D. Gordan to Six Flags, Camp Wah-Nee always guarentees an exciting summer. 2008 was my 6th summer and clearly my favorite, but what i have noticed is each year, i say the last summer was the best. This place can never get boring or monotonous as every summer brings new excitement. In reality, any camp can be ripped apart by jealous critics, who obvious have never experience true "Wah-Nee Spirit", but Camp Wah-Nee definently ranks among the top. The interesting and diverse staff all come with their specific specialties in making us, the campers, happy. Everyone at camp is there for the right reason, and seem to value every moment they have at camp. Senior II's '09!!

i love this place honestly ive had some of the best times in my life here but the owners are some of the worst people you can come into contact with no sense of appreciation and if something goes wrong they have no problem cutting you loose hate the owners and upper management but love the place

Camp Wah-nee is the best place in the entire world. Everything is amazing. I can't imagine a better place. I wait all year to see my friends and the camp again. It's going to be my fifth summer and I can't wait. You can't even explain how much everybody loves this camp. There is no doubt I'm coming back for Juniors '09.

Wah-Nee is amazing. Words can't even explain the love we have for this camp. The traditions and spirit will always be in our hearts. We learn so much there. We count down the days and look forward to it all year. This is going to be our 5th and 6th years at camp, and we haven't had second thoughts of not returning. We will go here for as long as we can. This is the best place i have ever been to. The people i met there will be my friends forever and im positive of that. Ive been going there for 5 years and this summer will be my 6th. I suggest anyone interested in this camp to imediately sign up. I have had the time of my life since the start. I have grown up with these people and at first it takes some time to adjust but by my second year i couldnt stand being without all of them. I've learnt social skills, learning to not rely on my parents 24/7, to be good at so[ports, responsibiliy and respect for others. I couldnt be any happier that I found such an amazing place like wahnee. Lodge 1 will be AMAZINGGG!! i love you all who are going back and can;t wait t see you then. I've had the incredible oppurtunity to spend the past 13 summers at camp. It's shaped who I am as a person and has greatly influed my goals in life. Starting as a camper and working my way through the ranks to become a group leader there's no place in the world that I believe can have an impact as a camp warmed by caring and by tradition can. I have made more than lifelong best friends at camp. It seems that people try to teach their children to never judge a book by it's cover. Always remember camp is camp.. not a country club, I remember being upset they were building a pool because growing up we LOVED the lake (not going to lie, i'm a HUGE fan of the pool 6 years later!) All in all, There's something missing in me when I'm not there. It's who I am today.

I've been going to this camp for 7 yrs. I love my girls and will miss every1 but im bored w/ doing everything over again. i cant explain the magic that happens at camp wah-nee, and the staff and frayda and everyone makes it the best. the only reason this camp isnt the best is because of jappy people and the drama at canteen i feel its hard to relate, and there's such a vast difference between me and some ppl in my division and on girls camp. dont get me wrong, camp is da best, but only if you can fit in. If so id totally love camp wah-nee because the tradition, history, and spirit and the few life long friendships have drawn me back for years. i wish i could love wah-nee like i used to, and 2 all angels and demons and comets i recommend making the most of ur younger summers and bond w/ ur camp sisters the most u can for it will secure ur place at wah-nee forever and youll never want 2 leave. When ever i hear a camp song i stil tear because camp has such a special place in my heart

The best summers of my life have been at Camp Wah-nee. It's my home away from home. At night I dream about the years to come and how I can't wait for summer of 08. I love everything about this camp, the counselors are always so caring and nice, the canteen is really cool, and the activities are amazingly fun! You really can't take a second for granted, because when you open your eyes, you're home again. When I grow up I will most definatly send my kids here, and I will probably be joining them.:). Can't wait for next year, Wah-nee1!!! Luv ya Comets 07!!!

Honestly, noone understands the magic of wah-nee unless you experience it yourself. Maybe it is not for everyone, but if you're looking for a passionate place where you can feel at home and rely on those friends for the rest of your life, wah-nee is it. Wah-nee is purely magical. There is no explanation for my experiences at camp. As a comet, a lodge girl, and more, I can not imagaine life without this place. I will be going there until I'm 40, no matter what. Those who go to wah-nee and don't realize this yet, will soon realize everything. Don't let a minute of wah-nee pass you buy and never, ever, ever, take anything for grantid.

ownership has promised a new "indoor gym" for 4 years....we'll see if that happens for "08. Good staff and spirit here, but pompous and nasty leadership brings down the experience. My kids love it, but believe me it is not easy being a parent here when there is a problem.

Very good staff here makes this place tick, but I have seen other camps (relatives and friends camps)that are much better value. There is great tradition here, but they treat you like idiots when you have a problem here. Most parents put up with it....I don't know why

My boys returned from their first summer at Wah-Nee both agreeing that this was the best summer of their lives! The wasted 3 summers at an inferior camp, which was mostly ruined by the inferior management. At Wah-Nee the owners, supervisory staff and all counselors are well trained in Wah-Nee traditions and Wah-Nee fun! There is not only an emphasis here on safety but also supervision. The campers ALL participate in all activities and within the first few moments of being a Wah-Nee Camper the kids have the Wah-Nee spirit. This camp does it right. The owners are selfless in their love of this camp and its campers, providing for a warm and wonderful camping environment. My boys can not wait for Summer 2008!

wah-nee might not be as aestheicaly pleasing to some parents such as tyler hill or timberlake, but what some people tend to forget is that camp is not a resort, its an amazing place where children are given the oppurtunity to grow on their own and independently to their surroundings, wah-nee is always full of spirit, happiness, and tradition. Although the owners may not be the most personable people, many parents tend to forget that camp is a business and a huge responsibility if they were so busy kissing your ass than they arent able to keep an eye on your children, your most prized posession.

Camp Wah-Nee is the best camp ever. Any changes that are happening are only for the BETTER! Between my kids and I we have 15 years at Camp Wah-Nee and have never been diappointed - it is true what they say....Kids wait 10 months 4 the best 2 months of the year!

This camp is great I had a great time in summer 06'. I met sooooo many great friends that i will always remember. Although i must say all the counslers choose "favorites" and they never really love anyone else. A few do but the majority of them DONT. But i WILL be there in 07'. . . . . hopfully they will give more attention to everyone this summer. But all in all the camp has great people and activities so thats really all that matters . . . . . . . wright ????

thurthfully, this camp sucks. all the girls care about is what they look like for the guys, and all the guys are cocky. they spend every night at canteen hookingup, and if you want a camp with hookingup atleast go to a pretty one ..this place is gross!

The heart and soul of Camp Wah-Nee was ripped out this summer when Mark and Meryl Transport were not part of the camp this past summer. Their contribution to the daily spirit and well being of the campers was greatly missed. Mark Transport grew up at Camp Wah-Nee and truly understands what the camp embodies. My daughters truly miss them!!

The camp is a very spirited sports facility. Staff is generally great, facility ok but the owners are impossible to deal with. They believe that their you know what doesn't stink and they can be quite nasty to many parents. good luck dealing with them

A very haimish, "old fashioned" camp. Lots of spirited and happy campers, who are mostly from Long Island where the owners live. Nice, down-to-earth kids, staff and owners. Unfortunately, the owners took down the only indoor recreational space which was falling apart 3 yrs ago. They promised all that a new, improved gym would be built for Summer 2005 but that didn't happen. AGAIN this year 3 days before camp was to begin we received a letter saying that the gym was not built because of construction delays with the foundation and too much rain. The tone of all written communications to parents is very, very bossy and legalish and not very warm or friendly. You never get the sense that the owners appreciate the parents who give them the business and trust them with their children. I find that to be very disappointing...though MY KIDS ARE SO HAPPY AND CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK EVERY SUMMER.

My kids love this camp!! They have made wonderful friends which keep them coming back year after year. The camp itself is not as aesthetically beautiful as some others, but they more than make up for it in spirit and enthusiasm and activities. there is always something going on...
