Click to report rating    10/6/15   5     5     5     5     4   A fantastic experience all around. Great counselors, great range of activities, and the BEST community of people you'll find at any camp anywhere. Non-competitive, supportive, and just plain FUN. Best decision we ever made was sending our kids to be cared for by Scott, Jason and rest of the staff. We even made our own "camp friends" - the parents of our kids' friends. Love this place forever. Click to report rating    2/9/15   5     5     5     5     5   This camp has given me some really incredible experiences, ones that I won't be forgetting any time soon. It's the kind of place that builds amazing friends and memories that will last you a lifetime. Nowhere else will you find a place built for so many different types of people to fit in. Nowhere else will you find a staff that cares so much for the campers. Nowhere else will you find such a tremendous sense of loyalty to the camp, and everything that it stands for, in the people that attend it. This is truly a place that will very quickly become your home-away-from-home. I would urge anyone to strongly consider it. RID: 48395
Click to report rating    2/9/15   5     5     5     5     5   Kenwood is the best place on earth. By place, of course, I don't mean the physical land, although that is very nice as well. The community is amazing. I met some of my best friends at Kenwood, and I don't think I ever had a bad day. My six summers there were definitely the best ones of my life. RID: 48393
5/12/14   5     5     5     5     5   I came here as a freshman. At first I wasn't sure about it. I have come to absolutely love this camp! I don't know what camp the negative comments experienced, but it certainly was not Kenwood! It has an beautiful atmosphere, nice kids, amazing counselors, and there is absolutely nothing horrible about this camp! I'll admit, the food is not great. However, they have worked on that issue and also, the food isn't really what camp is all about! I thank this camp for their many years of service and enjoyment. RID: 47310
Click to report rating    10/4/13   1     3     3     1     1   This camp is a cult. If your kid doesn't conform(and they advertise that this is a place for "quirky kids"), there is zero understanding or flexibility. Jason is overly positive & lovey dovey until your kid doesn't fit in or you question his approach; then he turns into his true cold and nasty self. Don't be fooled: he is not who he appears to be. The hugging/we all love each other shtick is too much and in the end, phony. This camp is way expensive and makes over-the-top promises that they just can't live up to. RID: 46071
Click to report rating    9/8/13   5     5     5     5     5   Amazing summer camp! Tons of diverse activities, amazing staff and great facilities. There is not a better camp out there! RID: 45951

8/13/12   1     2     2     1     1   The director is creepy and always hugging the campers and kissing them on the forehead. Its not normal and uncomfortable. Every time you pass him he opens his arms and wants you to hug him. RID: 42346

Click to report rating    2/14/08   5     5     5     5     5   ive been going to this camp for about seven years now and i treat it as a second home. its my favorite place to be away from home and i wouldnt trade it for the world. i really hope that i can become a counselor there and stay there for a couple extra years after i am a camper.      1/10/08   1     1     1     1     1   This was my first overnight camp i went like 4 years ago i think, i went there with my cousin and both of us were so homesick that we left camp early i remember they made us do some watermelon softball thing or something and we got a watermelon and the girls played softball for chocolate all the kids were mean to me and my cousin i just did not like it RID: 18819
Click to report rating    1/10/08   5     5     5     5     5   This is the greatest camp ever anyone who had a bad time there is because they don't like friendliness, staff and campers who care about them and any activity you could possibly imagine. This will be my 5th summer at Kenwood and I have to say I have liked every single person who I have met at camp. I go to the camp website often to see how long until it starts. The people who give bad ratings obviously are talking about a different camp because this is the greatest place on Earth. if it wasn't why would over 200+ kids come back summer after summer. They could see friends at other times. The reason they come back is because Kenwood is their home away from home. People wouldn't come back for 15+ plus years if it wasn't worth it trust the campers we know, we have been their ourselves. -J.S.C RID: 18808
Click to report rating    1/6/08   5     5     5     5     4   anyone can be happy at Kenwood because there are sports (sometimes fooling around, sometimes intense) and arts (photo, crafts, ceramics, video) along with a great community. Kenwood heart RID: 18672
Click to report rating    12/8/07   5     5     5     5     5   I have been going to kenwood for three years and i loved all three years of it. I have loved the sports programs. the stuff that those annoying people wrote was not true at all. jason is a very nice guy and wold never lie. RID: 17777

Click to report rating    11/22/07   5     5     5     5     5   I went to the camp for about 10 summers from 1975 on and all that I could say for lack of betters words, I loved it and I miss the times there, it got better with each year!!! RID: 17327
Click to report rating    11/18/07   1     2     1     1     1   A complete disappointment! We had high hopes after Jason (assistant director) came to our home and sold us on Kenwood – In the end we were completely let down. We had a number of concerns and issues after our son came home. When we spoke to Jason we were told, in no uncertain terms, that our son was not being completely honest and that we were blowing things out of proportion. A short time later we learned a number of parents had the same or similar issues and concerns.- It’s hard to believe Jason thought parents wouldn't speak to one another and realize that these issues did exist and should have been addressed and taken seriously. There are a number of us who are not sending our children back - They have a nice piece of property and a good sales pitch – unfortunately that’s not all a camp should be about. RID: 17197
Click to report rating    5/14/07   5     5     5     5     5   I have nevr liked a camp more in mi entire life!! it is amazing i liove kenwood its the best place !!!! kenwood is mi hole life RID: 10806
Click to report rating    1/16/07   4     5     5     5     5   I have been going to the sister camp of Kenwood ( Evergreen ) for 5 years and counting, and both camps are truly the most fantastic places ever. My brother went to Kenwood for 6 years as a camper, and they were the greatest summers of his life. Both him and I deeply love these camps and they are amazing! WE LOVE K & E ! RID: 6855
Click to report rating    1/15/07   5     5     5     5     5   How else can I phrase it? Camp Kenwood is the world to me. Kenwood has state of the art facilities,it's really beautiful and the sports instruction is great. All of the junior camp bunks and the newer senior camp bunks have running water and bathrooms in the bunks, although the seniors do use a bathouse which is located outside of the bunks, I think this aspect it very campy, and outdoorsy. There is a terrific art progam, and everysummer the seniors preform a play. We have great play directors and the plays are outstanding. Eagle pond is beautiful and swimming in the somethimes chilly lake is an essential part of camp, the feel of camp would be ruined with something like a pool. The counselors are spectacular, all of them care so much about the campers and we all create very special bonds. The camp is advertised as a sports camp, we often go to tournements that are all in good fun. The kids here are nice and loving, always willing to help others in need, I LOVE KENWOOD AND EVERGREEN! Click to report rating    12/23/06   5     4     5     5     4   I went to the sister camp (Evergreen) and my brother went to Kenwood. He attended for 15 summers and wouldn't change his experience for the world. It's a warm camp, fun and you are guaranteed to make friendships that will last a lifetime. RID: 6249
Click to report rating    9/21/06   1     1     1     1     1   How else can I phrase it? That place was one major rip off. I was told they had state-of-the-art facilities, and it was really a fleabag. They didn't even have running water or bathrooms in the cabins. The terrific art program was all a hoax, and there was only a tiny ceramics shed. The beautiful lake was a dirty pond, and the great counselors were really awful. The owner told me that it was a nonsports camp, while that was all it was, and it had lousy sports fields and no instruction. The nice, loving kids were all bullies, and the gourmet food really was more like my cat's**** than his food. That place should not be in business at all. RID: 3358
