Click to report rating    5/5/24   5     5     5     5     5   A truly incredible place. I sent both of my boys (4 summers for my eldest, 5 for my youngest) - I only wish that we had found Birchmont sooner! The owners, Greg and Laura, were superb throughout - I felt they really took the time to get to know our family and our children, and listened to our feedback between summers about how they could make things even better. The camp grounds are beautiful, and my boys grew an unbelievable amount each and every summer. I couldn't recommend it highly enough! RID: 54002
Click to report rating    4/2/24   5     5     5     5     5   Truly a magical place. Beautiful, pristine lake, breathtaking views, and very comfortable lodging. A place that still does it "the right way" after all these years. The sports and activities are all great but that is only a small part of what makes this place so amazing. For most adolescents that spend a few summers there, the experience is life changing. It teaches you self sufficiency, work ethic and, most importantly, camaraderie. I wouldn't be the person I am today if not for my time at PCB. I didn't think it could still be done in 2020...teens going seven weeks with no cell phones. The fact that they can pull that off is a true testament to the fabulous people who work to make it all happen. Can't say enough good things about them. All about family and tradition. Things we could all use more of and never get enough of. Few places live up to their motto as truly as they do. "There are no strangers within, only friends waiting to be met." RID: 53983

Click to report rating    11/2/22   5     5     5     5     5   My name is Joshua S, I am a parent of 3 kids that attended Pierce Birchmont last summer(22). Boy age 11, 2 girls ages 8, and 10. The experiences my children received between the water activities, sports, social events, trips, the summer play, and gaining independence was everything I was looking for- Everything- I could only hope other children can have the same opportunity to experience, enjoy and grow!!! I sent my 3 kids to the Pierce day camp in Roslyn, NY for 4 years before their sleep away experience - the Pierce Birchmont camp owns- they are the gold standard of summer camp and sleep away camp!! It starts at the top with the Pierce family and their relentless work ethic, compassion, and experience of camping- My 3 kids will be attending Pierce Birchmont this upcoming summer (23) and they can’t wait. I hope this message finds parents looking for the best destination with the best leadership and experience for their children. Thank you Pierce Birchmont and see you soon!!! RID: 53627
1/25/22   2     5     5     1     1   Sending your son to Pierce Camp Birchmont is basically like dropping him into "Lord of the Flies." Returning campers have their own set of rules and new campers are subjected to unwanted phsyical contact which is both painful and has weird sexual overtones. During multiple conversations with the age group leader, I was told "boys will be boys" and then assured there would be consequences for the perpetrators. Finally, Gregg Pierce told me he had 1) confirmed the inappropriate behavior, 2) told the boys to stop (for the 3rd confirmed offense and 3) the perpetrators are from "good families" and their families were "horrified" at what they had done. We pulled our son mid-camp after hearing story after story - from camp personnel! - of him getting hit, smacked in the behind (his group leader told me it was in a weird, sexual way), and otherwise hazed. The camp did give us a pro-rated refund so that was the only positive. RID: 53522
Click to report rating    11/18/19   3     5     3     1     2   Out of some 200 kids, you’d be lucky to find 5 persons of color. If you’re a minority, you’re gonna have a tough time. Most of the kids here are from completely different socio-economic spheres, and it’s an understatement to call it homogenous. Some kids are nasty, some are pleasant, and while Greg and Laura try their best, bullying is an issue. I’ve seen counselors act as bystanders to very apparent verbal bullying, and it’s either not reported, or it’s accepted as a normality by some. Facilities are top notch, and logistically, they handle themselves great. However, if your child has a tendency for vulnerability, please please do not send them to Birchmont. It’s a pretty camp but it’s not a safe space for kids to grow. Your child will feel inadequate and unprotected. RID: 52986
Click to report rating    11/16/18   5     5     5     5     5   I have been to four sleepaway camps and it was Birchmont that ended up becoming the final one and my second home. This camp is really amazing and they have traditions that are important to everyone and let everyone get involved. The kids that go here are amazing and the ones that come back summer after summer are the ones that want the best for each other. The staff is incredible and the facilities are also amazing. One thing really awesome is the emphasis on sports that gets kids involved and helps them grow without expecting them to excel in every sport. Greg and Laura create an amazing atmosphere for these kids, especially during color war. RID: 52332

8/7/13   5     5     5     5     5   We love Pierce Camp Birchmont! I honestly could not recommend a better summer camp. This camp is top notch - great location on Lake Wentworth, great facilities/activites, and terrific staff. We have two boys there now and our youngest can't wait to attend in a couple years. The Pierce family is really involved as well which makes us feel they are in such good hands all summer. RID: 45553

Click to report rating    6/10/13   5     5     5     5     5   Birchmont is the by far the best sleep-away camp to send your son/daughter to. As a past camper and counselor, I can honestly say there is no other place I would want to spend my summers. The facilities are incredible, and are constantly being maintained and updated. Staff members are all wonderful, and give kids a chance to meet someone from outside of the US. You definitely get your money's worth at Birchmont. I cannot wait to send my children to camp to have the same experience I did for over 13 years. This place sincerely changed my life. RID: 44710
Click to report rating    6/10/13   5     5     5     5     5   Birchmont is without a doubt the place that holds the most amazing memories from my childhood. The facilities, programs and staff are top notch. The directors and group leaders are very involved in daily activities and communication with families. Whether it's on the courts, fields or at the arts and crafts studio, the staff is well trained, fun and responsible! I am still great friends with all of my camp "family" and definitely recommend this camp to anyone that wants to have a wonderful experience that they will remember forever! RID: 44709

Click to report rating    2/14/13   5     5     5     5     5   I absolutely love this camp, I've been going for four years, and every year it keeps getting better. The counselors are great, I've made so many new friends each year, and the food is outstanding. The counselors make you feel like you're at home. I've also tried a lot of new things. The best camp ever. RID: 43702

Click to report rating    4/19/10   5     5     5     5     5   An unbelievably well kept secret in overnight camping. Had 3 kids go thru, all were different, all were happy and rate Birchmont among the best experiences of their lives. As a parent, the camp felt well run, incredibly personal, and very spritied.Good visiting day experience too. I don't know where they find all the great people who work there, but this was the nicest staff I have ever met, I had one child at a different camp before he moved over to be with his siblings. Diverse group of kids, priveldged but not spoiled, good mix of catholic and jewish campers which I think is rare in sleep-away camps, they seem to be one or the other. Great summer, actually 6 summers now. Would recommend it highly. NH is not easy to get to, but it is lovely once you get there. RID: 32618

Click to report rating    6/11/09   5     5     5     5     5   A terrific camp to consider for anyone who is sporty or arty. I went to Birchmont in the 70's and now my children attend. It's gotten even better. Just a beautiful, well supervised, relaxed place...oh, also one of the most gorgeous lakes. Only complaint, and it is minor, the tennis program is great, your child will improve, but there are lots of strong players there already. RID: 30009
Click to report rating    3/1/09   4     5     5     5     4   This camp was a great experience and anybody looking for nice good camp to send their kids to look no further than birchmont. RID: 29142

Click to report rating    6/24/08   5     5     5     5     5   Pierce Camp Birchmont has such an amazing family atmosphere and it is located on a beautiful property in New Hampshire. The high return rates for both campers and staff attest to the excellent quality of this camp. Parents can be guaranteed that their children will have the time of their lives at PCB and build lifelong friendships! The camp facilities are excellent (beautiful sports grounds and waterfront!) and continue to be improved and updated each summer! But this camp still feels like a CAMP! The staff are second to none and often return summer after summer because they quickly realize what a special place camp birchmont is! Camp birchmont is a home away from home! RID: 24233

1/16/08   1     1     1     1     1   I went here for two summers and the people here are rich and preppy and awful. I found people to be mean and stuck-up, tons of japs and jocks. So if you're rich, from "just outside NY" and looking to hang out with a bunch of meatheads and play sports all day, come here. (You'll also dish out a ton of money for this.) I went to another camp after this (Camp Regis Applejack) and LOVED it... so it's not just me. This camp ruined my self-confidence for like 2 years. RID: 19052
Click to report rating    9/29/07   5     5     5     5     5   if your a person thats lookin for a camp to hang out, make some really good/close friends then this is the place to be! Birchmont focuses on tennis/swimming, but they also have a ctivities like ropes, soccer, arts & craftes, woodworking, and nature! come to Birchmont! You won't regret it! RID: 15687
Click to report rating    7/21/07   5     5     5     5     5   It is my son's first summer at Birchmont and it has been fantastic- Fun and responsible counselors, very invested hands on directors who are very involved with campers- amazing facilities, very well rounded range of activities, great balance between allowing kids to develop their independence, and providing appropriate supervision- just a phenomenal summer experience! RID: 13166
Click to report rating    3/29/07   4     4     5     3     3   Oerall, this camp was good. Lots of activities; the area the camp is in is beautiful. However, more attention should be given to first-time campers. RID: 9199
Click to report rating    11/29/06   5     5     5     5     5   Fabulous staff & facilities. Program is creative, diverse and expertly offered.Outstanding experience for children. Tops in every way. RID: 5472
Click to report rating    11/14/06   5     5     5     5     5   It is unbelievable to me that anyone would think this is a "country club" type camp. I have had two children there over 10 years. It is gorgeous, with a superior lake which all the kids adore. We were invited for a swim on visiting day, and it was thrill to be in a lake this pristine, temperate, and well laid-out by nature. The cabins are homey with wood and windows all around, rafters and old stone fireplaces, not the barracks of many camps. My children have made the best of friends here, with people hailing from all over the country. The mix is perfect. We have even hosted counselor visits after camp. This is a High-energy, top-notch camp which gets it right day by day, year after year. Try it. RID: 4951
Click to report rating    10/13/06   1     1     1     1     1   Thanks for giving me the worst summer ever. Yeah, this camp is loaded with annoying staff that can care less about campers and loaded with japs. You do the same thing ever day- shedule mostly TENNIS and the lake is freezing and discusting and they make u go in and you walk all the way down there so u can freeze to death and the girls trail is horrible.
