The best camp ever! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to try new things. I have been here for 1 year and I’m going to the next. All the activities are amazing and fun, the counselors and staff are so nice, and I love camp wico. I would recommend this to everyone, and if your homesick they always make u fell better.

Top flight in every imaginable way. My daughter became more confident, competent, and felt part of a community. The staff are incredibly caring and helpful. The whole place is amazingly professional and yet casual. Highly recommend and intend to return.

Be careful when you sign up because there are no refunds even if you have the camp insurance. We tried to change sessions in February and had to move to the waiting list. She was #1 then #2 then #1 but never got in. Even though we had the insurance, the directors insisted they should keep $1200. We had a lawyer and they only kept $750 (she never went to the camp) We spoke to them every 3 weeks, but all correspondence MUST be in writing. You cannot trust anything discussed over the phone. The language in the contract is contradictory so they focused on one sentence, and we interpreted the other sentence saying we could have a refund. The directors told us that if we had not had the $200 camp insurance, we would have owed the camp another $200 ( total $1700) just for being on the wait list from Feb to April. We found another camp and my daughter had a great camp experience.

I gave activities, personal attention and monetary value low ratings because you are told in the promo materials and in person that girls who have finished 4th grade and higher get to choose their activities and their schedule will be based on those chosen activities. That is false. My daughter attended in 2016 and only got 2 out of 10. When I complained to the camp the Director told me he couldn't explain what happened, that it was a fluke, that the promo materials and what he personally told me during a home visit were true, that the schedule would be elective based. I have spoken to other parents and this happens all the time, lots of kids complain about getting stuck in activities they didn't choose. The camp shouldn't promise one thing and deliver another. The camp should be honest with people about what the kids will experience. My daughter did like the counsellors and special events but my experience is this camp's sales pitch and materials are intentionally false.

Wicosuta provides an excellent all-around experience for young girls. The staff are smart, caring, and attentive from the cabin counsellors to the directors! The camp is always looking for ways to improve, like an awesome new Health Center and ceramics studio! Next year will be my fourth year at Wico and I am already counting down the days. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

In my opinon, this camp is a rip off. I just didn't come close to some other camps I have been to. My cabin was full of braggy rich kids so it may have just been a bad experience for me, but I still think it's not worth the money it costs to go here.

I absolutely LOVE Camp Wico! The staff treats you like family, the girls there are really nice and the bunks have a lot of room and are comfortable. I love the fact that we can choose our activities and if we decide we don't want to do that activity, then we are allowed to change it. The food is amazing. No one ever feels excluded. Camp Wicosuta is like a home away from home. There are so many activities to choose from. Whether it's riding horses or making friendship bracelets, Wico is tons of fun. This camp is the camp where you can be yourself and no one judges you for it. Wico is a chance to make new friends and new memories. At this camp, the fun never ends.

I went to Camp Wicosuta for 5 years. Originally, I absolutely loved Camp Wicosuta and would really recommend it for younger campers: the staff is very attentive and the activities are great. However, as I got older the quality of staff decreased. Counselors swore in front of me, girls got bullied and excluded, and some of my fellow counselors even told me about male water staff members hitting on them (although I personally never got hit on). Although I would recommend Wico to younger campers I would caution you to not send you daughter here if she is older.

If you allow kids who act like the rating at the bottom of this rating at camp WICO it is the wrong camp to send a child. I am an old camper, counselor, have had children in camps and a girl who will be a conselor this year. She is rich, has designer everything, private school educated and cares for everyone equally. If Wico doensn't teach this little brat below not everyone can be as fortunate as she then the directors should be changed. This girl below is a zero and she needs to realize that being a good person is better than having money at the end of the day. WICO should explain equality to all campers first meeting at a campfire. The 1 ratings are because later ratings indicate no changes and many unhappy young campers. 11/17/07 5 5 5 5 5 the kids were amazing yeah we are filthy rich (the camp costs 10,000) and totally obsessed with everything designer but we are better then you so suck it

i love this camp so much and CANNOT wait for this summer. i don't know where i would be without the friendships i have made at wico, my camp friends are truly my best friends in the entire world. although it is expensive, so most people are wealthy, everyone is sweet and so fun to be with! camp has taught me not to judge because some of these girls may look like they'd be rude and rich but i don't know a single person like that. and the counselors value their jobs and want to be there just as much as the campers do. summer camp is an experience that everyone deserves to have and i cannot think of a better place for it. i don't have a single complaint about this place because i'm always just so happy there. i hate the stereotype our camp gets because of it's price, i don't think we deserve it, and no one cares about money at camp anyway! everyone is happy to be there and if i had the choice, i would never leave. i talk to my camp friends almost every day and love this place so much!

I have worked at Camp Wicosuta for 2 summers and I cannot imagine my summer any other way. The people you meet at camp become life long friends. I cannot wait to be back on New Found Lake this summer. Not only do I look forward to seeing all my councilor friends but I look forward to seeing all my campers again. I love to watch them excel and learn new skills while they are at camp. Wicosuta takes initiative to recognize campers as they move up levels in all activity areas. Camp Wicosuta is a very caring environment and there is a place for everyone. Summer camp is an unforgettable experience and I feel that Wicosuta really does instill the three C's in its campers, Confidence, Competence, and Community.

Although rather expensive, this camp stays true to the values it was founded upon. Directors have switched a couple times since my last summer ('05) and there were some changes that we weren't happy about at the time- mostly stricter rules to avoid lawsuits and make sure that our parents' money wasn't being wasted. At Wico, I found sisters and some of my best friends in the world who I still keep in contact with and see often. Going to this camp taught me great lessons in leadership, sisterhood, friendship, sharing, responsibility doing my best at new activities and so much more. I wouldn't trade my years at Wico for anything. Spend your summers there. And, I'm a vegetarian and have been since before my first summer- the food isn't that bad, I could find plenty I liked. Plus- the staff is amazing.

i love wico and have been going for three years! this will be my last summer and it makes me so sad to think that after 09 my friends and i will never be together again at wico. i will admit that being a vegetarian was tough b/c the food was not so good, and while i LOVE wico the girls there can be jappy and materialistic, however they are really nice once u get to know them. if i have daughters i will def. send them here from oski year so they can have an amazing experience like me! Yeah 09, i cant wait 4 summer!

Everyones friendly, the staff is amazing, and the cabins are nice. Till this day I've kept in contact with all of my friends that I made at camp and visit them often. I would recomend this camp and you will not be disappointed if you go!

AHHHH OMG, WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE. there is no way in the world anyone could hate a place like wicosuta. I've been going since i was 8, i'm now 14. and I wouldnt spend my summers any other way. im one of the few 8 weekers, and i believe that the only people that don't love this camp are non social wierdos. my sister just had her last summer, and i think shes in depression because she cant go back. I'd love to find the person that didn't make one friend, scratch that, sister, at this summer home<3

I think Wicosuta is an absolutely wonderful camp. This summer was my 9 yr old daughter's first sleep away experience and I couldn't have asked for a better experience for her. The counselors were warm and very attentive. All the girls in her bunk became very close and everyone was included in everything. She came back happy and confident. All the facilities are amazing and very well kept from the tennis courts to heated pool to playing fields. Her bunk was also spacious and very well kept. My daughter loved all the activities especially the evening activities like the talent show. The directors are great! Very caring, down to earth and warm. I highly recommend this camp to anyone searching for a overnight girls camp!!! She already is counting down to next summer!

We just picked up our daughter on Sunday (08/17/08). She had a terrific time. Julia had praises for everyone. This was her first sleep-away camp experience. The counselors and the rest of the entire staff created a safe and fun environment for her and her new friends! We were among the first parents to arrive for pick-up yesterday and we're among the last ones to drive away. Our daughter did not want to leave. She kept on relating stories, showing us around the camp, and introducing us to her bunk-mates/new friends. She has already decided to go back next year for twice as long. We cannot say enough good things about Wico. The staff was very helpful; from the very first day that we contacted them for questions about the camp, during the camp (we loved the updates and pictures), and on the last camp day. We strongly recommend it!!

Camp Wicosuta has really given my daughter the chance to find her true self. Over her summers at wicosuta, she has grown to accept herself and has fell in love with the girls that she has met. With the all girls environment that wicosuta has, it really gives the girls a chance to be who they really are and not try to impress boys. Overall, my daughter always comes home a happy camper and loves wicosuta

Camp Wicosuta is and AWESOME camp. I admit that the food isn't too good, but what do you expect it's not a hotel it's camp! The activities are all very well planned, and I always have fun. The counselors are great, the always care for you and are practically like your parents. I don't know why people say that the girls are snooty because they are definetly not. The only thing that I think needs to be improved is the amount of bunk bonding. I think that needs to be improved.

wico was an okay camp. i went for just the two week session because i didn't want to waste half my summer at camp for 4 weeks. the couselors were nice, and the food was mediocre. i really enjoyed the activities but since i was in the two week session, i barely got to do any of them with all the other events going on. they do a great job with color war, its amazing. and the trip to the waterpark was fun. but their nurses are horrible. i got a really bad headache and i had a fever at one point and when i went to the nurse, she said i couldn't come in unless it was an emergency (which was listed as stuff like broken bones and severe bleeding etc.) so i had to go a few more hours until after dinner to get any medications. i never returned because i was too old to do the 2 week camp again. i agree that almost every girl there is stuck up and snobby. oh, and look out for spiders when you go camping on the island, our couselor left our tent open so we were sleeping with several spiders.

I litterally have never ever been as happy as I was at Camp Wico. & I am NOT an easy person to impress! I'm a vegetarian and quite a picky eater, and when I came to camp I always could eat what I wanted... and it tasted GOOD! Every wednesday we even get to go on a trip to waterparks, amusement parks, or fun things. We also contribute to charities. When we leave for camp, our parents give us about 30-50 dollars for our trips, and my friends donated more then half of our money to charities that were held at camp, such as breast cancer. My favorite feeling at camp is that my cheeks hurt from smiling 24/7. I was looking at the bad reviews and I saw that someone had said their chid didn't write!! Either they are confused or lying, because everyone is required to write a letter every other day!!! And almost every bad review said the girls were mean. I never ever had that problem. The girls are my sisters and I love them more then anything else!!!!

this camp is amazing! i went for 5 years and they were the best summers of my life. i hate that i can't go anymore =[. the traditions are held strong and the girls i met there are amazing. we still keep in touch! wico becomes a second home. of course the food isn't going to be amazing...it's a summer camp get over it. the great experience makes you forget about it. and there are going to be people you don't get a long with...but if you aren't a social person of course you're not going to make very many friends. the activities are great. and i remember when i was homesick my first year, the counselors were so comforting. of course they can't be with you 24/7, they have other campers but they do their best. the only problem is the new directors. they aren't as into tradition as they are into business. WICO IS THE BEST!

Wico is truly amazing. I must admit my first year was the best, i was young and the camp treats younger campers very well and try and keep all campers happy. I have two more summers and i might not get the same attention from camp staff anymore, but i love going back to see the friends i have made very close bonds with. Foods not amazing, but the friendships you make make up for everything!! its so sad to think people are so negative about the place that i consider my second home.

I have been at this camp for 2 years and all I can say is that I made lasting friendships. My counslers were so nice and they were always there for me if I missed my family. This camp is amazing and I really love it so much I can't wait to go to camp next summer and make even more friends! I reccomend this camp to any girl who likes to make new friends and loves water activitie. I've had the best summers of my life and they were so kind If I was homesick I actully call that camp my second home because you get so used to it and feel like the people their are your siblilngs! I think that this camp is amazing and the counslers there are not only like my older sisters but I feel like they are funny, kind, amazinf, sporty, smart, exciting and they are always there for you if you need to talk them! Girls all ages from 7-15 are able to be there and every age group love it! So If you want to go to a camp that is fun and make friends that will last a life time then i reccomand camp Wicosuta!

I attended camp wicosuta for 6 summers and it was the most amazing experience of my life. Granted, my last summer was in 2004 so im sure a lot has changed since then. Still, i would tell anyone who's daughter is looking at camps to seriously consider wico. I made some of the most amazing friends at camp and am still very close to them. The counselours are amazing and very comforting and the staff is always there to help. As far as kate and cole kelly, im not sure they are there anymore but if they are, they were not such fabulous directers. Mike and Lauren Bogart really knew how to run the camp and make a wonderful experience out of 8 weeks. All the girls are nice and activities are tons of fun. i never found myself bored or homesick and whenever i did, i could count on my friends and my counselour to help me out. Please please consider wicosuta, it is an amazing place to be and a wonderful atmosphere in which to create childhood memories

How sad before the new owners this was an outstanding camp with decent enough food (hey kids back then ate what we were served) but the kids were nice and the counselors were nice and there was a lot of camp spirit and the owners knew all the campers. It's sad to see the bad reviews and i believe them because i've seen the camp reviews for other camps I know well and I see the negative comments all have validity even if they are a bit strong so I'm sure there is truth in them. I wanted to send my daughter here but I can't, it's not the same camp anymore.

omg!!! I love this camp!! This was my second summer here and probably the most amazing summer of my life!!!! i really dont understand why anyone would want to write a bad review about this place. It has all the activities you could ever wish for. Whatever you like to do, Wicosuta has it! For example, waterskiing, zip line, all the landsports you can name, arts, extreme stuff... Also a nice thing about wico is, is that it has a rustic campy feeling but also has electricity and bathrooms in the cabins. If you're looking at wico as a camp for you or your daughter, i would seriously condsider it. You make sooooooo many great everlasting friendships and memories and you're gonna want to come back year after year! GO BUNK 12R '07!!! (kineo 4)!!!!

I went to wico for 3 summers and it was okay. My first summer was my best after that it was only okay. It was not the staff as much as the campers. The only bad experence with the staff here was when I had to go to a swim meet on packing day. I asked my counslers if they would help me and they said okay. So when I got back we had to go to banquet and we needed white shirts so I looked and my counslers who knew about the white shirt thing didn't leave me one so my friend (who also had no white shirt) and I had to go to the lost and found (which is very old) and pick out t-shirts from there and it was so gross! And most of my friends left after only 2 or 3 summers at Wico.

I have made lifetime friends and have met some of the nicest people you can ever meet. I do not understand why you wouldn't send your daughter to Wico. The bunks are clean, the people and directors are nice, And i mean sure, The food isn't the best but you can't expect a 4 star meal in the wilderness!!! The bad reviews are just people being jelous b/c there camp wasn't as good as Wico. And if you hate wico than go get help!!Coo's of 06 i love you guys!!! ~ alexa

I sent my daughter here and she never wrote to me...when she came home at the end of the summer she told me that she didn't want me to worry but the camp was horrible. The girls made fun of her and the counselors ignored her when she was homesick. My daughter lost three pounds because she didn't want to eat, she was depressed. Do NOT send you kids here.

i love this camp. it will be my third year this summer and i cannot wait. i go second session so i get to be there during color war which is the best. my first/full session friends love both and they say challenge cup is fun too. i will stay friends with my wico gals for ever. i still am in touch with girls who have "graduated through" they want to come back and keep reliving their amazing experience. i would never trade my summers at wico for anything. i love the counslers they are some of the nicest people that you will ever meet. yeah sure some aren't so nice but hey, thats only human. the new bunks are so cool and i can't wait to see the new dinning hall. i love how there is so much spirit. everyone is singing and dancing and cheering at meal times and it's so much fun. the drama program is so amazing and i have learned so much from it. it's so great that the activities are with different age groups, so i became friends with everyone. the big/little sister program is so great and m

What a wonderful way for girls to spend the summer. Cole and Kelly have done an amazing job of making ALL girls feel welcome here. It is a safe place to grow and learn in a caring and open enviroment. I would highly reccomend this camp to anyone who is looking for a girls camp that instills values and traditions while encouraging them to grow and acheive.
