Amazing place to be yourself and make life long friends. My daughter attended for 6 straight years and will now be a CIT. Small cabin sizes encourages easy friendships and cozy living. Throughout the years the same girls come back which is how the year round/life long friendships begin, young woman from around the globe. Highly recommend being a Waukeela girl it will change their lives.

I have gone her for 9 years and it's the best experience any girl could ever have. It's made me who I am today and has taught me more then anything ever could. If you want your daughter to become a leader, send her here.

The thing about Waukeela is that it IS magic. Waukeela has something to offer to every girl. I have learned so much from camp and met some of my best friends at waukeela. I finished my 5th year as a camper this past summer and there are virtualy no words in the entire english language that sum up how perfect my time so far at waukeela has been. Waukeela may seem from an outsider as any old girls sleepaway camp with maybe a little extra pep but the truth is that it is so far past just any other girls sleep away camp. The traditions at waukeela mean so much to me and I would have never been the person I am now if I wasn't a waukeela girl. A lot of the conselors are women who were at one point campers and even the ones that never were campers are amazing and supportive and helpful. I wish every girl on the plane could go to waukeela, but if that were the case it wouldn't be special anymore :(. I left my heart at waukeela. -C ppiasfl

Honestly there are no words to describe waukeela. This camp changed my life. It is my home away from home. It is like being in another worry free world where all you do is have adventures. The food is amazing and the counselors are just like older campers. It may be expensive, but it is worth every penny. I sent my child here last year. She was very excited to go but it ended up being a disaster! She cried so much while she was there that the mean director asked me if she would leave camp! The facilities and food are terrible and the counselods are rid and inopropriate! My cousin sent her daughter here too and the same thing happened to her. My advice is not to send your daughter here!

As a mother, when I first started looking at camps for my daughter, I wanted to find a camp like the one I had growing up: good clean fun. Not easy to do in this day and age, where camps more resemble resorts. To me, not the purpose of camp. Camp should be a safe place where girls can grow, develop, meet people from different places and be challenged in the best possible ways. A place where girls can be....girls, away from the cliques and pressures that they face for the rest of their year. When I saw the DVD about Waukeela. I knew instantly that this was the place. And Waukeela did not disappoint. Phil (the camp director) truly cares and with much effort, I'm sure, has created a magical place. This year is my daughter's 4th, and last year. I know she will come back singing all the songs and just glowing. She does every year. Additionally this summer I have some health challenges and I am thankfully reassured she surrounded by her loving camp family. Thank you Waukeela.

Waukeela is my home. I wait for it every summer, and count the months, then weeks, and then days until camp every year. This will be my fifth year, and its my favorite place on earth. The friends i have made, the things i have learned, and songs i have sung will be in my mind forever. "Oh Waukeela, you're in my heart, lets hope that we wont have to part. Oh camp, please never end." I want to come back to Waukeela forever.

This camp was terrible. I sent my child here two years ago and she hated it. She said that the counselors were mean and rude and wouldn't care if you got homesick. I hate this camp now and no one should send there daughter here. I would not recommend this camp because it's just a waist of money!

You should totally come here, it is my favorite place in the whole world and everyday i am campsick. we do the funnest activities, and you make the best friends there. I couldn't imagine not returning every summer, and i couldn't love that place more. GO WHITE! <33

I have been working at Waukeela for two years, and started going when I was 8 years old. I'm coming up on my 12th summer, and I couldn't be more thrilled. The place is in my mind every day. I hope to never spend a summer away from Waukeela, I don't even remember summer before it came into my life. I love it like an old friend, the most loyal friend I have. Waukeela has inspired me in every aspect of my life, and it is the reason I am who I am. The substance it brought me, the love and sisterhood, and the reverence I feel for it's pine trees will never be forgotten. It is the only constant in my life. I have passion for many things, but nothing will ever make me feel the joy of rolling up the driveway in the beginning of summer, or the sorrow of having to leave Neverland for an entire year. My heart is in the rocks and the roots and the tall pine trees. If I had one wish, it would be that every little girl had the experience I did. It is the greatest journey of all. *PPIASFL* -Rachael

My daughter attended Waukeela starting in the day program when she was 6, through working as a counselor in college and grad school. 15+years. The influences of camp on her development are priceless. She is a confident, intelligent, compassionate, generous, creative, hard working young woman who returns to camp annually, to rekindle relationships and smell the pines. I feel the same way about all of the young women that she grew up with at Waukeela and maintains contact with today. She looks forward to sending her own children to Waukeela someday.

Can I just say how amazing this camp is?? ON the first hand, the counselors aren't there for the money because they don't realy make much. They're there because they love camp and they share that passion with all of the campers! There are so many activities and I never got bored. The people there are simply amazing. It's a camp to be yourself even if you're quirky, strange, outgoing or even shy. People from all over the world come and this will be my second year here and I have never been more exited :) Did I mention how many camp songs there are? We are always singing and it might feel overwhelming at first but you get used to it incredibly fast and there is always people there to help you remember songs :) There are parties with the boys camps which are always fun and its just simple amazing!!! I promise you'll be singing songs for atleast two months after camp and the people are so friendly that they become like your sisters. I stil talk to them constantly! <3 Waukeela!!

THIS IS THE BEST CAMP EVER!! This will be my fourth year and I love it! Everyone is really nice, and there will always be someone there for you. I can't imagine not going to Waukeela every year. The activities are great, too. Waukeela has everything from physical activities to art and much more! You can always count on having fun; even in bad weather! The facilities aren't what you get at home, but for a camp, they're great. Everyone on the staff is really nice and helpful. Almost any girl looking for a camp would love Waukeela! I know I do! If you are looking for a summer camp you should DEFINITELY come to Waukeela. I could go on and on, but I would run out of space for sure. WAUKEELA IS THE BEST!! Nat

OMG Waukeela is so so so so amazing. Last summer was my first year and it was really the best summer of my life. I made best friends there. The staff is the best, they are so nice, I mean Phil (The camp director) wont hire any one who isnt ready to make it the best summer of their life, and the campers life. Also most of them were campers too, so they grew up here and got to life the magic of Waukeela. If you are on the camp hunt, (Like I was) then go to the Waukeela website, even though its a little wimpy, you should no that Phil always says that if you like the video then you will love the camp!!! if you are looking for a reference, take all the rates you have seen, not one is frowny face. If you are looking for a traditional summer camp straight of a movie screen, with a pretty lake, rustic cabins, and the best friends in the world with millions of things to do (INcluding a 250ft zip line) then just do one thing more. sight up for Waukeella. Anybody who has gone to Waukeela and doesn't like it is INSANE!!! This camp is the best place in the entire world!! This is my home my family is here and I love it! I miss it so much and can't wait for next year. Seriously I have met the nicest people I know here!! And to Jessica luv ya can't wait to see you next year!! Waukeela is my favorite place!!!! IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!! Seriously come to Waukeela!! Most of the counselors are sooo nice the food is great (compliments to Tim!) and everything is so much fun! I miss all of my camp friends and if you go to Waukeela you will make some of the best friends you ever have! I'm going there for the third time next summer and I LOVE WAUKEELA!!! i went to waukeela for my first time this year. i was scared at first, but that went away in about 30 seconds, when i met the 14 blue spruces who would change my ideas of summer forever :) there is so many activities, so much to do, so much friendship and fun, it never get's old. this camp will forever be my home! love, bria (spruce 08)

BEST PLACE ON EARTH!!! i couldnt imagine going to any other camp, having any other camp director besides Phil, camp without stevie maam and the 50 centa, singing non stop throughout meals, bread bowls...the list goes on and on and on. Waukeela might not look any different from any other camp just by looking at the website or the video, but it is. Being such a small camp, everybody gets to know everybody, you make friends easily and fall quickly into the swing of things. I repeat...BEST PLACE ON EARTH!!

Unlike other people who reviewed this camp, I will be direct. The staff is kind and helpful, and even those who seem not-so-nice usually become more friendly. If you are looking for a technologically advanced camp, do not come. But if you are looking for a cozy, friendly place to spend part of your summer, this place is perfect. The food is great for anyone! The only reason why the facilities got a 4 is because they are not the cleanest places in the world (but they are very clean anyway). Monetary value got a 4 because the horse riding lessons are a bit overpriced, but not by much, and use of the zip-line is free, so it pretty much balances it out. Seriously, come to Waukeela. It is a wonderful camp full of wonderful people and wonderful activities and old-fashioned traditions. Please, please, please come. And if you are already going, thank you and come again. Don't diss this report because this summer will be my fifth, so I think I know about this stuff. In short, Waukeela rocks!!!

Oh my god, I've been going for 5 years now, and honestly it is my home. Everyone is so welcoming, it's not clique at all, and we all just love to goof off. Our director is fun to be around, and anyone will talk to you if you need it. It's small too, so you know everyone. AHHHHHHHH, i cannot discribe Waukeela in 1000 characters!!!! HELP!! NO FREAKING WORDS TO DESCRIBEEE!! IT IS LIKE NO OTHER CAMP, THE TRADITION IS 80 YEARS THICK, CAMP SONGS ARE SO GREAT AND THE HOLIDAYS PLANNED BY THE CAMPERS ARE TONS OF FUN. Instead of sending your daughter to a clickey camp full of people from her school and 15 minutes away, send her here to experience different cultures, different people from around the country and learn to canoe and kayak and go camping. And if you're not into camping then don't sign up for trips, doesn't matter. the girls could not get much nicer ..........THERES NO OTHER CAMP I WOULD HAVE RATHER WENT TO! TONS OF GREAT MEMORIES

the most amazing camp ever i wish i never had to leave. its so inviting, homey and the songs are crazy. the traditions are fun and xciting and phil is honestly the best guy that anybody could have picked to be the director of waukeela. i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee waukeela!

I'm third generation. My mom, aunt, gramma, and great aunt all went to Waukeela. When my sister is old enough she will go. I LOVE the camp and want to go until I am old enough to work there.

I have gone to Waukeela for two years and have already signed up for a 3rd time! i love it there! all the people are so nice, even the girls! there are tons of activities to choose from so you never get bored. The place is really clean and all the cabins are nice. There are many cool traditions that i am glad to be a part of and everyday is a happy, fun day with LOTS of signing. Each girl has to help clean her cabin, the bathrooms ( it's not to gross but we know know what are moms feel like :), and each girl has to set and "waitress" her table at least 4-7 times a session. Each camper is an individual and unique person and all the staff know that. Each staff member pays attention to you and you form special bonds with them. the director even knows every songle camper AND her parents and maybe even grandparents! Overall the camp is kind of expensive, but it's completely worth it!! I LOVE WAUKEELA!!

I swear to god this camp is the best out there. everyone is soooo friendly and the whole camp in general has a very homey enviorment. Camp is strict enough that its not some wild rager but flexible enough that we can have fun. THough it's all girls we see boys camps enough. I recomend it to anyone looking for a good summer.
