I am entering my fourth year at isym. The people are great, the food is delicious, the campus is wonderful, and the rooms aren't as cold as they say(but bring an extra blanket anyway). I have definitely improved every day of camp. Everyone is nice to you! 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting to improve as a musician.

amazing! if you do the musical theatre camp dont worry about not knowing someone when you go. you will meet so many new friends within the first hour youre there. you will learn a ton of new skills and get to work with very talented staff. the camp is soo fun and i want to go back. go to ISYM!!!! but dont forget to bring blankets because the dorm is absolutely FREEZING!!!! and thats not an exaggeration!

I had so much fun here! I made lots of friends too! I understand 6/8 time so much better now! You get a lot of personal attention too! You learn and play a lot in full band rehersal, you have masterclass where you learn specifically about your instrument like me being a french horn player we had a day of warm ups and day of history a day of breathing a day of betoven*sp? a day of dictation then a guy came in to talk to us about how to make a horn and how to clean your instruments! Sectionals are a lot of fun too! The dorm rooms are FREEZING! I'm NOT exagerating *sp? The food in the cafeteria is good too! There r a lot of places on campus you can eat too though! We saw a concert in the park, and had a dance the last night and a talent show and we saw the IL brass quintet! It was a lot of FUN! I will go back next year if it kills me! We got to preform in the Kranert Center! Its one of the most amazing places in the world and an honor to get play in!

This was an awesome camp you learn so much and the best part is you have a lot of freedom, you only have a couple of headchecks a day. The only part that wasn't as good was that one day there was an activity where we went to a park and got eaten by mosquitos! But the rest was awesome, you have to go there if you like/love band.

I had a blast- you learn so much and it has one of the few double reed programs in the country. It was so much fun and i learned so much more than at any other music program i went to. Make sure you know someone there, though, because it can get lonely since it's so fast-paced. And bring warm pajamas and 8 extra blankets- the dorms are freezing! and bring some food you can live off of for the week- the dorm food sucks.

it was such a fun camp! make sure you go with friends though because when you do have free time to go out and eat or things you could be lonely. its a big and fast moving camp so its hard to meet people. Everything was great i learned so much and our senior choir was amazing at our ending performace! its not to long, the food is good, and you just get to be on your own for a while, order pizza, shopping on breaks, whatever fits your style. its really a great camp and the cousnlors are GREAT! the dorms are cold but just bring an extra blanket i definetly recommend this camp to anybody intrested in music it really is one of the best camps around

wow ISYM is an amazing camp. i give it to thumbs up plus more. you get so much freedom and you learn SO MUCH. you get classes with professers and its so easy to meet awsome new people. come with friends though. bring extra blankets for the freezing dorms! the food is good! everything about this camp is amazing! go there if you can!! even with like the people on your dorm floor of ISR (the dorm you stay in) you usually get really close with them. you just feel so grown up and free. they do keep a close eye on you with head checks every hour and a half at night but between that you can go to the coffee shops or the little town close by. its alot of fun. i recomend it. you learn so so so so so much and its so so so much fun. i really wanna go back as many years as i can. the counslors are awsome and its an experience i will never forget you really really will appreciate it and not regret it if you!!! ITS ONE OF THE BEST!!!

I had a lot of fun!!! Bring friends, staff is cranky but the musicians are cool. Rooms are cold. 625-675? for the stay. YOU WILL BECOME A BETTER MUSICIAN. Bring friends. Prepare to be overwhelmed because I was on the first day. Bring Friends. This camp is awesome, parents will love the skills it teaches you and you will love the freedom you get!!! (Don't forget to bring friends because if you don't, you will have to make some more)
