Camp owners are dishonest when it comes to their employees never even received entire pay for summer working there nor did they cover a worker's comp issue they were responsible for 2 summers ago when I worked there. They have ignored phone calls and voicemails and in my opinion run an entirely corrupt operation.

My son had the time of his life at this camp. The counselors are wonderful and the kids get so much individualized attention and instruction. The programming is fabulous.

My son went there for two summers and we have changed camps. The facilities are really run down, more than just a "rustic" enviornment. For the price it should be much nicer! The activities are peace meal, and the sports are not so great. My son is a really great lacrosse player and wanted to try his hand at baseball. He was really not encouraged to do so, they wanted his expertise on the lacrosse side. He was dissapointed.

My son has gone to this camp for the past three years and he loves it. He loves the sports, the camaraderie, the special events. This is not the fanciest camp, nor the most competitive camp. I can't speak to the "level" of instruction other than to say my child learned to play tennis and lacrosse at Samoset. He got much better in soccer and played baseball every day and even though he was a 4-week camper, he was on LOTS of baseball teams (and soccer and basketball and lacrosse and tennis teams too!)The best thing about Samoset is the love & care the owners, Barbara & Arthur, put into the camp, staff and each one of the kids. They look after each child like their own, and they're good at communicating with the parents. Don't be surprised if they drop you a line to tell you your son hit a homerun, or passed the swim test, or got up on water skis. This camp is about letting your son find out who he is... and feeling good about that! Plus, the setting is gorgeous!

The only good thing as the counselors. most of the kids are really wierd. The facilities are bad, and there is not a lot of instruction. I started doing teen tours and they are SOOO much better!

My boys went to this camp for four weeks. The only problem with that is 75% go for the full eight weeks and most of the "anticipated" events are after the four week session. The camp promises individual sports instruction and the everyone participates motto, yet my son was not included on the baseball team because he was not a full summer camper. one boat, one person at a time for water sports turns into a lengthy line during free activity. Finally, they have the counselors scare the kids during "special wrestling" events by waking them up wearing masks, etc. My son was 9 and horrified beyond belief. Not such a great experience.
