I went to Keewaydin Dunmore from 2011-2016. Craziest experience of my life. At home, as a youth, I’m known as a shy guy, who didn’t have a lot of friends. Keewaydin changed that for me. The camp improves your character with the crazy adventures that are ahead of you. I promise that choosing this camp will drastically improve your child’s character; many life time friendships will be made, your child’s mental and physical strength will improve, and your child will come back more mature every summer you attend. Keewaydin is something I will cherish in my heart forever and ever. KWAY KWAY KWAY

I am going onto my fourth year here, and I cant think of spending my summers anywhere else. Whether it is boating, tripping or just hanging out, It is always fun. The food is not amazing, and it is a bit pricy, however I think these are easy to overlook. I would recomend this place for anyone who loves the outdoors. P.S No phones or internet/laptops.

My only problem with the camp is that I can't attend! My son loves it and has many great and close summer friends. It is a beautiful place! Wonderful activities that are back to basics ... canoeing, kayaking, tennis, swimming, wood carving, theater, pottery, hiking, many, many other activities and week long wilderness trips by foot, canoe or kayak. The administration and the staffmen (counselors) are fantastic. When I bring my son home, he starts counting the days.All writer, it is Keewaydin this, Keewaydin that. We excitedly await my son's fifth year.

My son is finishing his 3rd year and loves it. By Fall, he is counting days to return. The staff men (counselors) are incredible and the campers, a great group of boys. It's rustic, no electronics - just a beautiful lake, inspiring mountains, comfortable tents on platforms for living, and a variety of activities. Front & center - canoeing, kayaking and hiking. The 4, 5 or 6 day wilderness canoe or hiking trips are well planned, teaches the boys so much and is a highlight for them! From the moment he arrives at camp - my son is surrounded by friends (old and new) - and the staff men really enjoy interacting with the boys. Two things that are incredible: my son is inspired to master new activities rather than sticking to favorites. Also, the camp does an incredible job of reaching out to youth of all income levels, cultures and race. Kudos for Keewaydin's efforts in diversifying the camp! All youth deserve the opportunity to attend camp … to attend Keewaydin!

I attended this camp for a year and it was the worst experience of my life. My councilors were rude and could't care less about his campers. The food was awful. I counted down the days until it was pick-up day. This is a VERY rustic camp and is definitely not for everyone. I switched camps for the next summer and couldn't be happier at my new summer camp.

I spent two summers at Keewaydin as a regular camper, one summer at Keewaydin on a wilderness trip, and my last summer with the camp, i went too Tanzania for 2 months. Going to this camp resulted in easily, some of the most memorable moments of my life(it may be sad to say, but im not exagerating). What a spectacular place with some very amazing people. All of the camp counselers went to Ivy League colleges or ran companies of their own, and were very intelleigent, not some stoner, about-to-be college drop outs. There is real history to this place, real meaning. Keewaydin has its own language, its own folktales,its own songs(hundereds) its own secret society for campers/counselers who have been at camp for a certain amount of time(where they are assigned secret names kept on a roster in the office). This places makes its own wood canvas canoes!! I cant find the words to tell you what this place means to me. Send your kids here and give them a lifetimes worth of memories.

There's something in the soil at Keewaydin. It's magical. Spiritual. The staffmen lead by example, the boys learn by osmosis, soaking up both sunshine and strength of character.

Given his comment on "rowing" instead of "paddling" and on "bowdens," a word I've never heard in my years as a camper, staffman, and parent of a subsequent camper and staffman, the person who gave the negative rating obviously has no experience with Keewaydin. Ignore his words and read the others. Great place, great traditions, great life-long friends.

I just finished my third year at camp. I will most definitely be returning full-season. It is one of my favorite places on earth. I highly recommend it to all boys who are thinking about going away to camp.

An amazing place. There's a reason staff and campers come back year after year. The community recreated each summer truly brings out the best in people. The canoe trips are the highlights, culminating in 17 days in Canada during your last month in the oldest age group. Sign up early -- it fills every year!

I'm a KKK camper from the 50's. My son, a KKK camper from the 80's. Maybe someday his son will be a camper at KKK too. My son and I had the experience of a life time there. My connection to the camp remains strong (I go there at least once a year) 45 years after I went there. Few men who attended KKK forget the experience or the tradition in which they as boys were immersed. 100 years of shaping some very remarkable alumni hasn't changed the basic character or mission of the camp; "Help the other guy!". Waboos rules!
